Family in Florida? Red Cross info
by Uzzah inif you have family in florida that was hit by the hurricane and you can't get in touch, contact the chapter of the red cross closest to your family's residence.. the red cross registers everyone that comes in for help, including food, shelter or medical assistance.
they also are already beginning family re-unification programs putting family members in touch with each other.. the american red cross branches for the two major areas are:.
punta gorda/charlotte county red cross - (941) 629-4345. orlando red cross - (407) 894-4141. you can imagine how busy the disaster services personnel are right now so the red cross asks that requests for family members only be done today.

Swearing on the platform
by sleepy indid you every hear anyone say something really dodgy from the platform when giving a talk?
i heard a couple of stories of people getting really enthusiastic when giving a talk or pray accidently swearing.
one time in my book study group a sister called someone a dickhead in her answer, it was very hard not to laught.

I remember swearing while chatting in the kingdom hall once. I realised straight away what I'd done, except my response to knowing I'd done something real bad by letting it slip out was go 'oh shit', which just made it worse...... I got away with it because I was talking with friends and they all knew what to expect from me by then.

The question was wether we needed to serve god to be able to succeed, and the official line is that Jehovah is letting it continue so that no one can be in doubt that it has failed and we do infact need him to guide us.
The problem is that this issue has already been resolved in the bible. Genesis 11:6,7 says, 6 After that Jehovah said: "Look! They are one people and there is one language for them all, and this is what they start to do. Why, now there is nothing that they may have in mind to do that will be unattainable for them. 7 Come now! Let us go down and there confuse their language that they may not listen to one another?s language, so there was nothing that would have been unattainable for them, so man didn't need Jehovah after all and the only reason we have all the problems we have today is because he got jealous and confused the languages. He's like a firefighter turned arsonist so he can run in and be a hero.
