there seems to be a lot of local differences between what witnesses are allowed to do and what they aren't.
i'm in a situation where elders in one area are incouraging a course of action, and elders in another area are totally against it, saying it is a disfellowshipping offence.
anybody been in a situation where elders disagreed like this?

The wbts are making millions from this trust fund? No wonder they are tripping over themselves trying to get people to leave them things in their wills, ect.

14 The positive effects of being impartial shine forth in many lands. Aklilu, who hails from Ethiopia, found himself lonely in Britain's capital, London. His feelings of loneliness were compounded by what seemed to him to be a general lack of friendliness toward people from other countries, something sensed in many large cities of modern Europe. How different Aklilu's experience was when he attended a Christian meeting at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses! Those present welcomed him, and it was not long before he felt at home. He made rapid progress in deepening his appreciation for the Creator. He soon sought opportunities to share in spreading the Kingdom good news to others in that district. Indeed, one day when Aklilu's preaching companion asked him what goals he now had in life, Aklilu readily responded that he hoped someday to be part of a congregation that spoke his language, Amharic. When the elders of the local English-speaking congregation learned of this, they happily arranged for a public Bible discourse in Aklilu's native tongue. The invitation to attend brought scores of foreigners and local people together to support the first Amharic public meeting in Britain. Today, Ethiopians and others in that area are united in a thriving congregation. Many there have found that nothing prevents them from taking a stand for Jehovah and symbolizing this by Christian baptism.-Acts 8:26-36.
If the love and impartiality he recieved from the congregation was so great, why did he wish to leave them to be with people of his own culture? When he got closer to them did he realise how superficial the love was? Or did he see how impartial they were to people whose family backround was not from 'spiritual giants'.

i was reading "run dont walks" topic on "when the governing body dies off then what happens?
" great post.. what we need to do, since there are alot of just "faded" members of the j.w.
organization here with us is this... next year, all you just faded ones, (the ones not disfellowshipped or disassociated) go to the memorial and "drink the wine and eat the unleavened bread"... .. brilliant isnt it.
I think it would be good to get a load of xjw's together and all go to a sunday meeting where none of us would be reconised. If we dressed appropriately, and spread out around the hall and give some great answers in the watchtower study. I wouldn't answer anything too strongly, just give it enough of a twist to make people think. Your hand wouldn't get picked again, but the people in other parts of the hall could follow it up. And you could have a great apostafest afterwards.......

I sold my motorbike last week, but it takes a while for the dvla to update the addresses on its computer. Its been caught by 3 speed cameras since I sold it!!!!!
if there was someone you were crazy about who went back to associating with jw's again and they asked you to come back too, only because to live dividedly for the rest your life would be just too hard and awkward.
keep in mind your role would be very limited, few meetings a month, couple hrs service a month etc.. i know "if" this was before me i would feel that i would never ever want to come back.
i don't believe it is the truth, can't stand the control among other reasons.
This is what I have been doing for the last 6 months. I got df'd, she didn't. I can cope with all the shunning, ect, that doesn't bother me. But as time goes by its getting harder to keep going to the meetings, keep up the act ect, because I keep thinking of how much I don't want to be a part of that organisation. My getting reinstated and gettin my relationship back on track is looking less likely every day.

<<< this pic was recently the subject of much discussion at the recent bbq held by englishman.
apparently some people including qwerty and gadget thought i had a bald head with hair combed over it a.k.a.
"comb over".
Abuse? Hmm. When you said what it actually was at the bbq I thought it was so funny! Its not like I could say anything to take the mick after you've seen me! I think you should keep it. How did your trip go? You get your bike fixed ok?
