This is the same as the nc30 I had until July, I had to sell it to get a deposit for my house.

I was talking to her before I went to work last night, and she's still reall stressed but not as bad as sunday. She kept asking why I was leaving her, but I told her I was leaving a religion not her, its thats saying shes leaving me. This seemed to make her think a lot. And there was a message from my mam on the answer machine saying she had someimportant things she needed to discuss with me....

One other thing I just remembered, shen said when she told her dad and the po, they said they didn't believe me!!! Don't know if they meant they didn't believe that I don't want to go back, or didn't believe the things I told her about.
i was reading a post on another thread about a 70yr old sister who's husband was a pillar of the circuit in times past now just drowned out most of what she heard from the platform as someones personal oppinion and served jehovah the way she felt was right.
is this typical of someone who has been in the org for that long, the difference being that she felt comfortable enough with the people concerned to actually voice it?
what about the people who joined in the 20s and 30s and have seen all the new light coming in over the years, has any asked them how different it all is now to the religion they joined?.
Thanks for you replies, it sounds like this sort of thing is quite common. So another question, how many jws believe everything they hear from the platform, and how many just take the bits they like and privately ignore the rest?

No, she was graphic to me about what she wanted to do.
i was thinking about some of the old jw urban legends that we grew up with and believed in as jws.
most of the ones i remember revolved around stories about demons, and jws being "attacked" when they would do something wrong.
some of these legends scared the crap outta me when i was little.
Anything in the shape of a pyramid will cause the demons to attack.

Thanks everyone. I couldn't phone 999 because I didn't know where she was(Not at home), but when I finally got back through to her her mother was there and talking with her. Apparently the reason I couldn't get through was as soon as she hung up on me she called her PO, and her dad, also an elder. Looks like I'm going to be getting a visit/call from them soon. When she asked why I felt that way I done a real bad job of explaining it. If I end up in deep discussions with them on it I might be back with more threads on needing answers to give them.

I've been on the phone to her for the last hour and a half or so. I told her how I feel about everything, and she was very upset, that its the worst thing to ever happen to her, worse than when her ex beat her up and raped her. That if I feel that way she doesn't want me in her life, and if I'm not there theres nothing to live for and she's going to kill herself. She hung up and I can't get back in through to her.

You cannot mislead this girl as her poor mental health would implode when she finds out your real intentions re reinstatement ( that is to say - you dont want to come back)
Thats the problem I've got, I'm so worried about what her reaction will be. We've talked on the phone this afternoon, and she wanted to talk about how I really feel but I was at my parents so couldn't talk then. She's phoning back tonight so we can have a proper chat, and I'm going to tell her then.
what are your most successful methods for dealing with their visit?
do you prefer to "blow 'em off"?
or do you attempt to dissuade them from their inanity?.
The local jws don't know my new address, so I'm waiting for a call. I plan on bringing the subject round to things that will make them think, but without revealing that I used to be a witness. If you invite them in, they're pretty much a captive audience whilst they've got a full cup in tea in their hand.
