  Secret Santa 2005

  its getting to that time of year again, so who wants to do another secret santa?

  it worked out brilliantly last year and the year before.

  if any one wants to join in let me know by either posting in this thread(to help keep it bttt so people can see it, lol), or pm'ing me or emailing me at [email protected]

  Sounds good Paul. I'm in! What are the rules?

  Basically, everybody who wants to take part sends me a pm/email with their address that they would like their gift sent to. I collate all the names/addresses and assign each person another person to send a gift to, this will probably be mid-November so people have a chance to get it delivered in time. If everything goes to plan, every person who sends a gift will receive on from another person, although the actual sender will be a secret (and hence the secret santa) until they open the gift on Christmas day.

  If anyone has any issues with keeping their address secret for whatever reason, I only ever share their details with the person assigned to send them a gift and have made arrangements to 'rig the draw' so that people who are in hiding etc get assigned to somebody where they don't have to worry about their cover being blown, or if they would prefer to post to someone not too far away to save on postage. Any things like this please send me a message and I'll do everything I can to make sure this is available for as many people as possible to be able to take part.

  I'll do the draw in the beginning of November so that people have plenty of time to select a gift and post it, particularly if its going to take a while to get there.

  How would you explain jws to a non-jw?

  in the past, when i've been talking about being a witness they haven't really understood just how much of an impact it has on your life unless they've been one too.

  whats the best way to explain it to someone who has never been a witness and had little contact with them?

  i'm more thinking of how much control there is over your life, and the reason why a lot of witnesses feel down and suffer from depression, ect.. gadget

  Watchtower printeries operating at only 50% capacity

  in the final talk at our district convention we were told that the printing plants are working at only 50% capacity (due, it was implied, by divine intervention).. the thought was expressed that this may be because there is going to be a massive increase in numbers coming into the organisation requiring more printing.. as we all know, growth has been minimal over many years now, so the question, where is this growth to come from, and if it comes, how are we going to stop the massive haemorrhage in brothers leaving?.

  Any one in business with an input on this? When I worked as a sound engineer we deliberately ran our amps and mixers at 80% maximum so that we didn't get any sound distortion by pushing the equipment too hard. 50% sounds a bit low, but surely it would make good business sense to make sure your machinery was not being overloaded to reduce maintanance costs and wear and tear, and if it does break down you would simply move up to 100% and easily catch up.

  Human Givens

  has anyone had any experience with human givens therapy?

  someone i know is thinking of trying it as a treatment for insomnia.

  i looked on a few websites but didn't feel comfortable with some of the things i was reading, although the only thing i could put my finger on was that they knock all other forms of treatment saying that theirs is the only one that works.

  To those of you that may think that the Watchtower is not a cult please consider this quote from the book "Seductive poison" ( this is the biography of Deborah Layton who managed to escape Jonestown)

  The quote reads as follows:
