This is from the 8-10-95 Awake, I don't think they would have published this if it was a df'ing offence.
In your article "Young People Ask . . . Fads—Should I Jump on the Bandwagon?" (December 8, 1994), you mentioned tattooing. I was surprised that you did not make reference to the command at Leviticus 19:28: "You must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves."Fads

These
words do indeed give a measure of insight into God’s thinking on this matter. Of course, Christians are not under the Mosaic Law. (Colossians 2:14) Still, individuals would do well to bear this scripture in mind when deciding what to do in this regard. The reported health risks and the impression wearing a tattoo might give to others are additional factors that a Christian should weigh very seriously.—ED.Six months ago I jumped on the fad bandwagon and hopped off with a tattoo on my ankle. Every time I look at my ankle, I am reminded of my decision. I can only wonder what doubts others might now have about my character. I also worry if I might be a cause for stumbling to others in the congregation. I’ll think more carefully next time the fad bandwagon pulls around.

I went to a lot of congregation outings where I took off my top from the heat, revealing a large tattoo on my shoulder, nodody(not even elders) said a word about it apart from some of the women who liked it! -

If The Elders Wanted To Disfellowship YOU, What Action Would YOU Take?

Welcome to the board i am a good soul.
I don't know but, what exactly happens when a person is disfellowhipped? What actions are taken and what happens during the session?
When a person is disfellowshipped they are declared a 'person nongratia' by the Jehovahs Witnesses. They are not allowed to have any dealings with them, and are totally shunned. In some cases even a close family member would just walk by the disfellowshipped person in the street as if they weren't there. To put it into comparison, when I was disfellowshipped my then fiance siad she would have found it easier to deal with and understand if I'd slept with another woman behind her back than if I said anything against the Jehovahs Witness religion, thats how strong she felt about it. A person is disfellowshipped after meeting with 3 elders who confront them in a judicial committee about some wrongdoing they are perceived to have done. If they are repentant, they may be reproved(reprimanded), or if they are perceived to be unrepentant, disfellowshipped. For me, geting disfellowshipped was the best thing that has ever happened to me. It was very hard at first, and I went through some really dark times, but it let me see what was really going on and get myself out of it. If I hadn't been disfellowshipped I probably would have still been in now. If the elders wanted to df you obviously you would already be at the jc stage, and I think the only way to stop the elders df'ing you would be to stop the jc taking place. This could be done easily by carrying a recording device where they can see it. They will then refuse to carry out the jc under those conditions, in which case you can threaten them personally with legal action if they carry out any further action without confronting you first. You could use anti-defamation/ slander laws, first amendment, or anything else you think might be suitable. Paul

Option Of Death Penalty For Molesters in Oklahoma
by Dogpatch incommittee oks bill giving juries option of death penalty for molesters
posted: 9:51 am cst february 22, 2006 updated: 6:21 pm cst february 22, 2006
oklahoma city -- oklahoma's senate judiciary committee has approved a bill that would give juries the option to sentence repeat child molesters to life without parole or even death.

Convicted child molesters sent to prison are considered the lowest life form in the prison culture. They live in a perpetual hell in the prison system, thus sending them to prison is a far more serious punishment than the death penalty.
If they are in general population that would be right, but here in the UK we have 'prison rule 43' which classifies certain prisoners as vunerable and places a duty of care on the prison service to protect them. They are kept seperate from all other prisoners, and so the expected perpetual hell does not happen.

What were you disfellowshipped for?
by Kristofer ini recently had a discussion with a witness friend (i'm a secret) and she claimed that witnesses only get disfellowshipped for being unrepentant for immoral acts.
i am curious to know from those who have been disfellowshipped, what was it for?

I got df'd for immorality. I got caught having anal sex with the presiding overseers daughter. I think after that no matter how repentant I was I was getting df'd.

Happy Birthday , buddy! Are you still confident about your sexuality?
Is there some doubt that you are 100% heterosexual? Not for me theres not, but Ross was trying to convince me otherwise at the Aposta-beerfest a few years ago, lol. I got lots of presents, and had a lovely meal with my girlfriend Claire on the night, but the main partying is being reserved for new years eve, we're hosting a party at our house. Mouthy, do you fancy doing some partying in May? We're planning on visitting Canada again then. Paul -

well i finally did it!
by Cordelia inhere is yet another thread about me (im so sorry everyone) but hopefully this is the closing chapter, and i just wanted to let anyone thats helped me along the way to know whats happened.. i saw my dad and this time i was totally honest, he took me to some places we went as a child and said basically i have no choice but to stop seeing my boyfreind, and attend the meetings again maybe even work at mending my marriage as that is the only way i will ever be truely happy (apparently).
i said that even tho it means the past 9 months of attending and trying to get reinstated are a waste i just have to stop going to the meetings, i do not believe the society really acting on jehs behalf, (jeh would never shun me, etc) he said he cannot believe how spiritual iwas and that i am so 'apostate' now and in veiw of that he can have nothing to do with me, he cried i cried he said i am dead to him and it breaks his heart esp as he has to deal with the tumours he has found out he has,.
i feel so bad as he has tried to answer my questions and has come up with an answer on them all (except the un) and i know i am throwing contact with my family away and hurting them alot.

Is repititive imprinting of ideas a primary cult tactic?
by hubert inin a post by syn that lady lee has brought up again, there is this statement by syn.
i could underline my watchtower in 10 minutes, tops, and be sure that all the answers were right.
many esteemed researchers have shown that repetitive imprinting of ideas is a primary cult tactic, and i tend to agree with them.

Principles of minority influence
This and other studies by Moscovici and others appear to demonstrate that the minority can influence the majority if:
- the minority disrupts the established norm and produces doubt and uncertainty in the mind of the majority
- the minority makes itself visible, focuses attention on itself
- the minority shows that there is an alternative, coherent point of view
- the minority demonstrates certainty, confidence and commitment to this point of view
- the minority signals that it will not move or compromise
- the minority implies that the only solution to restore social stability and cognitive coherence is for the majority to shift towards the minority
