I really feel for you. It's terrible to be 'stuck' like that. There has GOT to be a way out. First of all, step down from being an elder. If they ask why just say 'I have nothing to say about it'. You don't owe them ANY explanation. It's your business what you decide to do. Whatever you said would just give them an opening for even more questions. Secondly, take up some new interest that will allow you to meet some new non-JW friends. The more time you spend on that, the less time you will have for the Witnesses. Just slowly back off from going to meetings and field service, etc. If anyone asks why, just repeat: 'I have nothing to say about it'. That gives them absolutely NO REASON to DF you. You just don't provide them with any ammunition. If the Elders ask to 'meet' with you or come to your home, just reply with 'I have nothing more to say about anything'. Regarding the Australian girlfriend, she may be your 'soul mate' but there has GOT to be other women out there who you could be perfectly happy being with. Maybe not even as far away as Australia. Finding such a person would at least give you a new focus and a breath of fresh air to make you feel more alive again. Anyway, I hope some of these suggestions are helpful. Please keep us all updated on how you are doing. Usually, in my experience, just when things look the bleakest is when things are about to start looking brighter.

Seriously considering stepping down as Elder
by fader77 ini have been an elder for 6 years.
it's been the last 2 years or so that i've really seen the hypocrisy, but the ability to know the shenanigans of the society through the body of elders letters has kind of kept me in there.
i'm to the point now that i can't stand the hatred and bitterness that the body of elders has towards myself and my whole family.

A "follow up" meeting?!?!
by DATA-DOG inwell, now they want a follow up visit!
when you tell the elders that you have doubts and they say " its okay, we have had our doubts.
having doubts is not apostasy.

Just use the SIX MAGIC WORDS: 'I have nothing more to say.' People have a right to remain silent so as not to incriminate themselves in a court of law. So you can apply the same principle to the Elder Visit. Sometimes saying NOTHING is by far the best approach. If they persist, just keep saying the SIX MAGIC WORDS. By the way, remember these words if you are ever questioned by the police. You don't have to tell them anything.

Very young baptized in new brochure
by Bye bye birdie inon page 25 of the new release, "your family can be happy" the illustration of the young boy being baptized looks between the ages of 9-12.. thoughts?.

With all the potential negative consequences of being baptized, it should be considered child abuse to baptize those below the age of 18 or even 21.

Elders Can't Simply Go Back to Being Ministerial Servants...
by TTATTelder inas a currently serving "awake" elder caught in the web of family, spouse, employer, etc.
etc..... i have often wondered why an elder cannot simply drop back to ministerial servant if he so desired (because of stress, circumstances, health).. on paper a currently serving elder in good standing more than qualifies to be a ms. that is obviously the case by their own hierarchy structure and definitions of qualification.. but...under their current arrangement....theoretically a man could give a district convention talk one week to 10,000 people, step down as an elder the following day due to stress, and not "qualify" to give a 5 min part on the next week's service meeting in front of 50 people.
doesn't make a lot of sense.. so my question is this.....why do you think the wt forces a man to drop all the way "down" to publisher if he no longer wants to serve as an elder?.

All the more reason for elders to quit. Then they will just be regular publishers without all the hassles of being a MS. Much easier to fade afterwards without attracting as much attention.

Did I ever fear jehovah?
by Ignoranceisbliss inwhen i think back on when i started losing faith in the borg it all becomes kinda fuzzy.
even when i was 19, a pioneer an ms and the local golden boy i clearly remember lying about my field service time every month.
if i really feared jehovah there's no way i would of done that.

Jehovah only exists in the fertile imaginations of people who still believe in fairy tales.

I guess being called an 'Elder' has a better ring to it than being called a 'window-washer'.

Do Beta Blocker side effects ever go away
by Quarterback ineverybody cringes when i tell them that my dr wants to put me on beta blockers.
is there an alternative to not going on them if your dr recommends it?
maybe armegeddon is around the corner and i may not have to worry about it..
-
NAVYTOWN
Why does your Dr want you to take beta-blockers? What health condition are they supposed to treat? If it's high blood pressure, what is your pressure reading without the beta-blockers? Why do you think WE know more about medicine than your Dr??? Isn't not taking needed medicine the same as smoking? Both will harm your health in the long run.

WT Study, Sunday 6th July 2014.
by skin init might be the way i think and see, but the first time i looked at the image on pg 27 of the april 15th watchtower i was trying to figure out how it applied to this study.
this is a darkened black and white image that appears in my edition of this magazine, (its colour online).
anyway, para 9 talks about a brother that had an issue with looking at online porn.

The WT sure seems to focus on masturbation a lot. They must be thinking about that subject A LOT. Along with homosexuals wearing tight pants.
