It's even better than that, the money the congergation garantees, as a non-profit and a corp. this money is considered capital investments and can be used as additional write off's (not all of the corp's under WT are non-profit). In addition if you think about it, the hard dollars are the land and some of the materials, we build most of it with all of the different trades throught the various congergations. To boot some of the materials are donated and that is a tax write off for the donator as well. Land is picked up "Tax-Free" and sold the same - every wonder what happens with the gain-on-sale when a property is sold. I missed the rebate checks in the mail - damn just my luck.

WHY DO I DREAM ABOUT THIS?

however, from time to time, i dream that i am out in service.
i don't want to be there and i think to myself, just walk away, go home, it's just that simple.

I have had similar dreams, from what I understand it is simply the unconscious mind working out unresolved issues of the past. It was funny but the best one, it was Sunday and I really wanted to watch this football game and turns out someone hid a TV in the bathroom, I had to keep coming up with excusses to go to the bathroom.

Change is not always an easy process, I was reading your posting and at first thought I was reading my own? With the exception I was DF'd, I asked to many questions and had the "Bloom of Youth" thing happen(never had sex - just sins of the heart and made out). Anyway, I had the same as far as focus and it was my brother that got me focused, he was younger (5-years) and I was now raising him so I was focused like mad. He passed a few years ago and man that hit harder than the DF'd at 18 and life to go - and had no clue of the world. Recently I have realized it's ok to focus on myself but being someone who always enjoyed helping or working with others, I started spending time with the Big Brothers and it is pretty rewarding and I look forward to it. These kids just need someone to talk with and show them they care. It seems we had the same sense of feeling regarding the "counseling" that was being done and I would imagine you enjoy working with others as well. Maybe look into some local chapters of various organizations and I mean, retirement communities, kids homes, etc. In any event, enjoy your journey and I wish you the best.

The GB is becoming like the French Government: Yes, No, Did we say that, that's not what we meant, stop, go, no wait, did we say 1914 - that was a misprint, blah blah blah. I agree the next few issues should be huge. Has anyone ever look into copies of "Articles of Incorporation" for the WT? Being a non-profit they have a lot of room for misc expendetures, but between the Tax Returns, Filings with the IRS and subsidiary corporations - well, it would make for interesting reading. If some one has found any of this let me know, thanks.

Who does the President answer to if he is not of the annoited class ???

he has no channel with jehovah/jesus like the annoited class.. what allows him to make any decisions ????.
just think of all the crap the watchtower will be shovelling, when the 1914 generation passes completely on and there is none of the annoited class left, it has already started the last few years but i'm sure the best is yet to come !!!!!!

He answers to no one, mainly because asking probing questions is not allowed anyway. I have been thinking about the 1914 bit as well, I was sure when 9/11 happened my family and all sh-t a big one thinking that was it. They are running out of time and I am wondering how big of a shovel they will use to dig out of this one. Your question is a good one though.

fiancee committed scuicide jw parents trying to steal my babies
by larrynbabies inmy fiancee died on feb24 she was suffering from years of abuse by her alchoholic jw parents.
she first tried to commit scuicide when she was 12 then 2 more times at 16. when she was 15 she snuck out to go to a party when she was raped she was too afraid to tell her parents.
the very next day her jw brother in law molested her.

My heart goes out to you as well. I may have over looked the state you were in it would be helpful, but knowing state laws is very important in this matter. I do not know your relationship with these people at this time as far as visitation but at this point I would be careful to say the least. It will be very difficult for them in any form of legal action regarding your custody, however, from what I have read they could try some form of "mental" reasoning with regards to you. (I don't mean that in a bad way towards you, I certainly would be mental myself) I have heard them (elders) speak of this on several occasions, never seen it done, but I would none-the-less keep my wits about me when around these people. Honestly I think all will be fine, some times you have to fight fire with fire and if these people are as you say, a PI can easily detail this information for courts review and would be an advantage to you. No matter what, take care. Wish I had more comforting words for you.

for example, you can't salute the flag or stand for the national anthem.

1) Ask questions they don't want to answer or others to hear you ask.
2) Be open minded, Freedom of Thought.
3) Help someone you love who is no longer a JW - or the other way around. (Because god is a loving god and would not approve of such an act)

District Convention
by Charmed inmy mother sent me a letter the other day asking me to go to the assembly with them next weekend.
everytime they talk to me now the conversation always seems to be the same.

I wished I had something better to say than what I will, but here it goes. Not a day goes by that I think of biting my tongue, just to see my mom and a few of my relatives and friends again, I miss them so much it hurts. I always come back to should I do that I would not be true to myself! Here's an even better one that bends my mind - my mother is so into the JW that if I were to be able to show her the other-side, I do not think she could handle it. She is torn just as I am but will not listen to reason and the times we speak, it breaks her heart 1) because she loves and misses me and 2) because she feels she has betrayed god. I don't understand how she can pray to a god that she says is loving and in the same breath believe that he will punish her for just saying "Hi son, I love you, I'm fine and doing well, how are you? You are not the only one and I am just begining to decide what I should do with regards to my family after all of these years. My best wishes to you and if you ever want to chat just let me know.

May 1999, I had long since not been a part of the JW, all of my family (with the exception of my brother) were and are still active. My younger brother that I was raising had passed and my mom was concerned for me and decided to make a trip to stay with me a few days. It had been years since I seen her with the exception of the trip to my brothers funeral. Anyway, I knew she would want to go to a meeting while she was here and it just so happened that the weekend I returned from the funeral a got the famous "knock" on the door and thought to myself, these guys have no idea who's door they just knocked on and what luck I must have. Well, a few words were said, the brother left and the next day was back with an elder (man did I see that coming or what) Again, I thanked him for his time, my angst was not with him as it was the organization and he left me his name and number. My mom arrived and I gave her his number for directions. She must have called him while I was at work one day and they had a "chat", I took her that Sunday to the KM and I asked her to go ahead in and save a sit for me (I thought it was the least I could do). I waited until I knew the meeting had started and went in to find her and she was not to be found, turns out the local elders pulled her into the backroom and gave her a raft of sh-t for coming to see me like she did. When she finally came out she was obviously upset and had been crying, I was so pissed - I have no words, at least that I will say. The elders back home did the same with her. You see I grew up the perfect child, everyone saying why can't you be like "me", dad was an elder and I was working my way up, walked it, talked it, believed it - unitl I got older and started asking questions & that "bloom of youth thing happened" that's all they needed to X me out and I was gone. That's just scratching the surface, but I have wrote enough already, sorry about that.
