Evolution can be observed from many sources, not only from fossils. We can traces it from vegatation that leaves traces that can be analyzed after thousands of years like pollen or woods. Trees like spruce, magnolias, or fruit trees can tells us about mutation and adaptation. Diseases like syphillis, pox, plague also shows mutation and we can even pinpoint to origin of such outbreaks. However, the evolution from one spicies to other is a process that took hundreds of thousands of years over thousands of generations.

Want to know why people accept evolution ?
by snare&racket indo you have questions about or want to understand evolution?
it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.
we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

No more WWI veterans... Only 5 people born before Jan 1st 1900
by ILoveTTATT inwe should keep watching this list: http://www.grg.org/adams/e.htm.
this list shows the list of verified oldest people alive.
technically, articles in the 1960's and even in the 1980's indicated that "this generation" meant people born before 1900.. 5 more people, and we can officially celebrate another failed wt prophecy.. when i was "in" i thought that the wwi veterans had to die.... they're all dead... all of them... not a single person on earth now can tell you what happened when they served in wwi.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_last_surviving_world_war_i_veterans_by_country.

Somewhere I had read that number of people alive in 2014 and to be 100 years old is between 280,000-350,000 because many countries did not collect statistics or had not done before 1945, therefore the numbers can be overestimated. This is certainly true for China, India, Russia, and even in Latin America. WT used to say that generation of 1914 will see the end. People of this generation are in almost at the end will disappear in the next 10-15 years. All my grandparents were of that generation. My grandpa fought in WWI. I would not be surprised if WT will put the generation to decades later like anointed calling closed in 1935 etc giving them another decades of comfortable prediction. There is a huge demographic of people born during prosperous roaring 20s and they can be here till 2050.

I would advise to be extra carefull and if she is deeply committed to WT and JW faith, run because you will only experience disappointment and headache. JW are masters in manipulations and distortions, and they studies these tactics in theocratic school. What they say and do is not necessary the same what they feel and they know what is right or wrong. She may try to win you to WT and create new JW family with your kids. Or she maybe doubtfull, but it is up to you to find. If she feels that WT is not the right place but she lacks a way to analyze it, you maybe the person to show way out and save her from decades of misery.

Naturalism is Dead - Why Are Believers Stuck in the Past?
by Perry insigmund freud, karl marx and charles darwin are considered the pillars of modern western thought.
they differed in many ways but had one thing in commonthey were reductionists who claimed that all higher realms of existence could be explained by lower natural causes.
they were the pillars of naturalism.. but their ideas were tested during the twentieth century and found wanting.

Evolution is a fact and documented in various studies in numerous fields ranging from medicine to biology to agriculture. Even if you look at present fruits and vegatables, they are product of evolution in rather short timespan. Present oranges, apples, figs, dates, pears, peaches, and plums changed through selective gardening and cultivation in past 6000 years. Have you seen wild apple from its native habitat, or plums? They would be not edible on present standard. Additionally with the cultivation of trees and vegetables, bees and insects were affected as well and adapted. So did their diseases. Pollen from trees can surive thousands of years and we can document how they changed, adapted, and migrated over the area. Red delicious apple did not suddenly appeared on this earth.

The best explanation of Matthew 24 and 'This Generation', that I've read so far

It was certainly well defined article, but I tend to agree with cofty and finkelstein that it was a failed prophecy on longer scale. 2000 years later, 75 generations, nothing of the parousia had fulfilled. There is a also a desperation moment in 2 Petr 3:8 where suddenly immediate returns turns into thousands of years. Jews did not accept Jesus, nor believe he was their messiah. Jews do not believe in 2nd Coming.

I seldom read fictions, but I do read a lot about history or politics. My recent good book was Fatal Purity from Ruth Scurr about M. Robespierre and the notion behind the French's revolution Terror. Last summer I read about life of Mmd. DuBarry, mistress of Louis XV who was guillotined in 1793. Very interested about social classes in the 18th century, corruption, sex life in the French court and rise and fall of this poor woman. I generally pick some event that I find interesting and read a lot about it and than move onto other object. When we had 1600 year anniversary of sacking of Rome by Goths I read City of God by Augustine and History of Goths by Herwig Wolfram.
My father was a vivid reader, he collected over 2500 books and read every single of them. My elders complained that they were not good literature, but my father never became JW and had large collection of books related to lives of saints and catholic church. I think he got hold of them during the 1950;s when communists were sizing monasteries in Czechoslovakia and trashed many libraries. After his death we donated a lot of books away. Elders were very happy about it and they always seems to browse around our library at home to see what not good literature is there.

When I was staying for weekend at my parents house, elders that I did not know stopped by. They heard a report that someone was staying there and they went to investigate. They attempted to grill me with questions about my presence there but I did not let them in and decided to close the door on them. I am out of KH for 20 years, the house my parents live in was actually paid of by my money. I felt really annoyed when some strangers questioned my intention staying in that house.

Problem with postglacial flood is that it was a process that took several thousands of years. Water level did not start to rise globally in the matter of one generation. Each continent and region experienced different maximum of glacier. In Europe the glacier covered everything north of Belgium-Czech Republic-Slovakia until 12000BC during the Wurm and Vistulian maximum. American ice shield melted sooner by several thousands years (5-8K years). This was long timespan for humans to observe.
