I know some individuals who went back and I knew some who even after they were DF still maintain WT beliefs and insist that JW is the only true God's organization and the channel of communication with the humanity. They get also extremely defensive of anything related to WT and they consider themselves to be a modern martyr and prophets of the WT. They justified their DFs as a test where their opinions/beliefs/positions were rejected by the WT organization, so in core they are correct, but subjected to abuse by the WT as did ancient prophets of the Israel who were often misunderstood by own people. For many DFs does not equally means the end of the bond with the WT cult and JW.

Need Suggestions/examples: Guide to helping family & friends break free
by LisaRose ini was going through my copy of steve hassan's combating cult mind control and it occurred to me that it would be great to have something like this specifically for us ex jehovah's witnesses.
while this is a great book, the examples he uses are mostly from people that were moonies, as steve is a former moonie and many people that have contacted him for help were relatives of moonies.
while cults all work basically the same, it would be nice to be have some ideas on things that are specific to jehovah's witnesses.

Good points, but it is not that easy for many people. Under communism, there was also recommended psychical therapy for people who were struggling with post-religious lives, and needed professional help to get out mentally from the bond. Many people deep in the cult would need professional help and session(s) with the licensed professional who deal with cult mentality and cult control. The big issue I see that many people will not be able to accept reality and will commit suicide, go through depression, or unhealthy wild life and sex denied by the cult and harm themselves in the process.

How do you deal with depression?
by BlackWolf ini'm currently going through a bout of depression and my eating disorder has gotten worse.
ever since my parents actually told me that they are going to kick me out when i turn 18 i've felt kind of hopeless about my life.
my parents won't take me to the doctor because the psychiatrists won't have my "best interests" aka jw crap in mind, because really that's the root of all my problems.. i'm wondering if any of you guys have any advice with dealing with depression?

One the best way to deal with depression is physical activity like jogging, hiking, and working out. Sun increases positive feeling (which is reason why people tends to suffer with depression in winter), and weight lifting also improves overall mood and well-being. -

One Thing I Don't Get About Brexit
by JW_Rogue inhow did such a weighty decision get put directly in the hands on the average citizen?
and with only a simple majority required?
in the usa the biggest thing that people vote on directly is city building projects or infrastructure.

The democratic election does not necessary equals a good choice. People voted for dictatorship in I. French Republic, Weimar Germany, or in 1946 in Czechoslovakia. The outcome was a disaster, war, or unsolved political crisis that paralyzed society for years or even decades. While I am critical of EU and I consider it to be economic, political, and social failure; I do not believe it destruction is smart. EU needs to be reformed and rebuild upon better concepts, where the elites would understand regional, national, and social differences among larger European world. UK will not benefit from leaving EU, it already pays with isolation, declining currency, proposal of revoking English as official language from EU. Students most likely would not get their titles and degrees recognized in EU, and there is a huge possibility of many banks, investments banks, and conglomerates moving out of London.
There are so many examples in the European history where larger political entity dissolved and did not bring anything good to subsequent states or brought hardship: Austria-Hungary, USSR, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Hansa trade system, Holy Roman Empire, Western Roman Empire....

Oh no Dan 2.44 is being fulfilled. My ex told me so it must be true.
by KateWild inso my 14 yr old son and i are sitting discussing the eu election vote, and joking around that the we could see a future with donald trump and boris johnson being the uk and us leaders.
we were swapping pictures and jokes from facebook.. but his dad is sitting there waiting until we leave, and comes out with "well daniel 2.44" which reads.......... "and in the days of those kings the god of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin.
and the kingdom itself will not be passed onto any other people.

I talked to my sister this weekend, and she insisted that disintegration of EU was prophesied in the Bible, because demons who are behind EU lacks unity and are putting themselves against each other.

Without the English civil war in the 1640's modern day democracy would never have happened and then spread to the rest of Europe let alone in some outpost of the British Empire now called the USA.
Democracy is Europe is not British concept, but based on French model. It was the Grande Armée of the I. French Republic that spread democratic ideas on the Continent with emphasis on social justice. This is also reason why all countries except UK follows Napoleon codex, desired republican system, and put higher emphasis on secularization, and social rights. France decriminalize same sex relationships in 1791, liberated slaves, put equality of Jews, people of colors, put constitution to public vote, something USA had not done, or was forced to do so 80-150-200 years later.
And when it comes to concept of religious tolerance or division of power between ruling elite, Europeans had estate generals, which existed for example in Kingdom of Bohemia till Austrian conquest in 1620 and religious tolerance was established in 1485 there and declared eternal in 1515.... BTW the proponent of religious tolerance in Bohemia was Peter Payne, Englishman, who received asylum in 1414 at Prague because he would be otherwise executed in England.

No! No! No! This can't be true? brexit? No!
by purrpurr init seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!
the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?
there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

I like to understand what difference it makes from an economic standpoint ?
Is it mostly to do with trade ?
There is a huge amount of money going between countries in EU. It is far more than trade. Even when UK does not use Euro, it still contributes to coffers and get subsidies in agriculture and tons of other craps. It is like severing ties between California and rest of USA. Additionally, 3 millions of Europeans lives in UK and 2 millions Brits are in Continent. Their existence is now in question. The amount of money between UK and EU floating between these two are in billions per day. Once these ties get severed or limited. It will affect agricultural policy, space program, IT, education, pensions, health benefits, and even residency issues.

And so it begins...Britain youve been conned....tonight Daniel Hannan Tory mp and prominent leaver stated that Britain Will favour the Norway relationship post brexit, with....you guessed it...free movement of labour!
I doubt EU will allow free labor movement and settling of British in EU after Brexit. This is something EU does not want it to happen. UK would have also continue other EU citizens to move there, something UK does not want to do so. So there will be issue of receptivity, Brits could not expect to live on NHS in respective EU countries, work there, and not expected to do so in return. They will be treated like Americans and Canadians when it comes to EU and labor market.
Another issue I see will happen will be UK accreditation of education, licensing, and patents, because they will case to be in alignment with EU. And foreigner education without accreditation or mutual receptivity is pretty much worthless outside native countries.
