Also some people can be deceased. While there is possibility to search people by various Death Index record, etc, it will not always turn a result if person remarried and died in different state. Also in this age, people move outside their native countries, or retire abroad. -

I like the fact that XJW's are passionate about politics
by minimus inthe fact is we could never talk about politics or of use toward political issues as witnesses now we can and we can disagree without being disagreeable .

Political discussions are always heated and everyone can look into French Revolution where disagreement was solved by guillotine. Robespierre said that even if person does not make any choice, he already did showed his or her political views. When I go to foreigner boards, the political discussions are far worse than on JWN.

I am still annoyed with conversation I had over the phone with the family last weekend. They just get too much excited but at the same time inflict guilt feeling that I am not there. They accept the WT dogma, and on memorial they just are observers instead of participants of the ritual. It never made sense to me even back then when I was in WT. I knew one elder (he is already DF) that he was partaking at home secretly with his family. JWs outside 144K are just observers, and do not really celebrates Jesus sacrifice. -

I get irritated by my family because they get hyped -up, and will try to inflict a guilt feeling that I was not there. I do not see a point why would anyone outside 144K to bother to go to memorial, even as JW. I remember back in the 1980's and 1990's that there were brothers and sisters, who had second memorial in the privacy and they partake because they thought that WT was excluding them from something that they should be part of it. Back then, I agreed with these people. Since I became involved with Judaism by association in marriage, I understand that memorial does not make a sense for Jewish faith. Jews (or at least the one I am married to) do not believe that anyone can redeem other person for his or her sins. Everyone is responsible for their own sins, and Jesus sacrifice just does not make sense and is not valid in their faith.
When it comes to Easter, I loved it. In many European countries, it is the second biggest holiday in the year after Xmas. In the Czech Republic it is an equivalent to Thanksgiving in overall atmosphere: entire families get together. The time of the year and the weather is always good to see relatives, because in winter, not everyone wants to travel, and in the summer, many people are vacationing. Easter associates with me one of the warmest memories, special food and baked cakes. JW memorial is far off from festivities that Easter is, and it is rather pitiful as the only holiday they celebrate.

The official relationship between Jehovahs Witnessses and the Watchtower? I'm confused.
by Joliette incan anybody answer this for me?.
whenever i tell people i'm ex jehovahs witnesses, they always assume that i'm against the jehovahs witnesses, but i am more so against the watchtower then anything.people assume that i'm anti-jehovahs witness, but now that i've done more research i've realized that its the watchtower thats more harmful then the jehovahs witnesses, even though theres a lot of jehovahs witnesses i dont like, i'm not against jehovahs witnesses as a group.. can anyone explain this to me?.

The WT is a subset of JW. One cannot exist with the another. While the den mother/imperial aristocracy vs slaves view holds, it is rather a symbiotic relationship where one justifies the existence of another. WT cannot survive without millions of its followers, while JWs would not follow indoctrination if they did not had WT to sign up for. It is like distinguishing between communist Politburo and masses that were in communist party. Every member of the Politburo was a communist, like everyone in WT all they way to the top is a JW. -

Waves in Gravity detected, another lucky hit?

Bohm, not sure what you are trying to achieve by insulting me (you are not succeeding), but again, I know where the post is. I do know how to google my name, and I actually review it in the discussion forum within the other people who commented. I did not create the forum, nor I was the author news that published it. You should take your whining to that media outlet that published it back then in 2006.
And when it comes to the Nobel prize, I do no think much of it, when it was awarded to killers like Arafat and Gorbachev. Now go back to your favorite things on JWN, which is trolling. I told you that already under Paris discussion in November that you are troll. You were always troll and you always will remain a troll. This all you can be on JWN.

I am not sure who did not pay attention and what, and what I believe is irrelevant to this topic. I only said, we had in the school a discussion on the gravity waves back in 2006. There was a post where somewhere from the news where this observation was published. I only know the year, because the post is still there under under my name within the discussion forum. -

Why dont you go to the memorial?

Memorial for Jesus death in JW religion is a joke. Jesus did not say that only small pack of believers will partake. JWs if they do not belong to 144K do not have reason to celebrate Passover. They do not achieve salvation through Jesus sacrifice but through association with WT. As someone who does not believe in WT, I do not have reason to celebrate Jesus sacrifice with association with publishing house. -

Bohm,
I do not want to argue with you, but I can certainly look up my name on the google to get the post, which I did, and that we as class back then had discussed that the first observation of the gravity wave. While the URL link from 2006 where this news came from is no more available, I certainly know my name and school I went to to locate 10 years old post. Any case, the wave gravity discussions are around for years. When they were first observed, I do not know, but in my Earth science class, we talked about it under the accredited curriculum.

Today, I had a chat with my sister, about kids, mom, my problems, her problems. As I expected, she brought up the memorial. She asked me, if I will go, and of my answer was no. I did not want to go about the theology with her about it, because I think it is a shame because if anyone believes in Jesus's sacrifice, then everyone should be partaking, not only a few the chosen one from the pack of 144K. Next thing, I was subjected to the preaching of dogma in a rather hostile tone that irritated me. That Jesus died, so she can live in Paradise, and I have to survive Armageddon if I return or get resurrected after Armageddon, but with my demeanor, there won't be any survival or resurrection. For me.
Hence, I need to return to KH so the family will be back together. I said I do not see a purpose of it, because it sham. She told me that JW had changed a lot in 20 years, and it's not the same organization that I left. That it changes all the time. Which, I answered, "yes sis, you get this one right". So she got upset and told me that she depend on Jehovah, unlike me who trying to survive ongoing layoffs within the company, seems Jehovah is punishing me already. Now I am really pissed.
I left the call on friendly call, but now they will have TV, where the GB will greet its witnesses on the Memorial via web TV. Is this true?
