I used to in my old job. It burned me down. It seemed to be 24-7 constant client support. I resigned after I got another position. The same money, better benefits and I work from 9-6. I do not mind working overtime when it was necessary and it was crucial to the success of the project. But on the other hand, I have life outside work. Work life balance is must.

if the average growth rate is 0.13 mm per year than the bottle will be covered with 8.06 mm since 1954 or about 1/3 of inch. It will take 1000 years to get it covered with just over 5 inches of the mineral deposit. How long it will take to be 10 feet or 10 meters?
I do not know what is the growth rate in Jenolan cave (one site mentioned it is about 0.14 mm) where this bottle appears, but the pure math does not support notion that Earth is just 6000 years old when alone they estimate some of the large formation in that cave to be 500,000 years old based on their size.

Again, the study of stalactites and stalagmites is well established for over a century. Even 85 years ago, there were published peer research papers that made a comparison between the formation of stalactites and stalagmites in the caves and on man-made structures like bridges. It is not the same material, it involves different processes and mechanism. Stalactites and stalagmites preserve information about the climate, various stages of glaciation, do have also isotopes for the radiometric dating. Also, stalactites and stalagmites do contain other elements like iron, copper, manganese, and nickel.
Other information that can be revealed from the caves points to a plate tectonics like a closure of the seaways, which affected the precipitation and stalactites/stalagmites creations. Stalactites and stalagmites in the caves can reveal the Australian plate push northward, closing the Indonesian seaway and redistributing ocean current circulation; Messinian Salinity Crisis, and so on. All these finding are in line with information that can be observed from other fields that prove the Earth age be well beyond beliefs held by fundamentalists. Even top Catholic universities do not dispute it.

Claimed? The process that creates stalactites and stalagmites is well understood and established in all universities all over the world from USA to Russia to China to Germany, to every country that has department of Earth science and mineralogy. The only problem with the process exists with a population in region that was visited by Sherman in 1864-65. There is a difference between limestone creation in enclosed cave system and man-made structures where mineral is gypsum . It involves different chemistry, mechanics, and physics (chemical composition, acidity of the rainwater, cave humidity, etc).
Perry is the definition of confirmation bias.
So far Young Earth believers were not able to prove that the Earth is indeed 7000 years old.

Of course, but it would involve to really take science classes and do actual work with the apparatus. It is different from the faith-based beliefs. To him it is easy to compare goat and table. Both have four legs, so they must be similar.

People interpret those facts differently, plain and simple. The tendency is to attack anothers interpretation of the facts and call that interpretation not science
I am not sure if you ever presented a scientific research paper and had to defend it either in a peer journal or in the faculty. I had and I am actually in the process getting a manuscript published in the peer journal. It is an extremely rigorous process and I had to present my study twice because at the suggestion of my faculty, I had to present more thorough finding. It is not the process you describing.
Look at one simple example, stalagmite. Its growth rate can be measured like in the tree ring, and the process does not require extremely complicated scientific tools and apparatus. Some of the stalagmites can be several million years old, because the yearly deposit can be measured. Within one cave system the samples can determine the age of the cave formation and growth rate.
Over the weekend I saw a stalagmite that was about 2 million years old, and it is still alive and growing. The science currently will not give you exact year the first deposit was made, but through statistical measure they can present with a degree of confidence that the stalagmite is old 2 million years. In some point in the future, when better and more accurate measures are developed, the science will give a better accuracy. This is what science does.

Many years ago elder and his younger brother sibling were doing door to door in the Czech Republic. They knocked on the door, which were opened by extremely attractive female with small towel wrapped around her, barely covering her private parts. After the initial shock, the elder attempt to proceed with regular intro, but the young woman attempted to drag them inside, which both refused and run. The elder was tall, muscular guy with hungarian like complexion. The younger brother shared the description of that women with several male JWs, which some of them went to knock on her door and get a chance to see her the same way as the elder. Eventually, they were warned and only women were allowed to knock on her door. What I have heard that the attractive woman was always asking for the elder, and was extremely disappointed that she cannot conduct bible study with him.
So cases like this probably happen quite often.

Russia is going through reversal to the system that existed there in the 70's, but it has fundamentally much closer to the totalitarian regimes that existed in interwar Europe. One the main driver toward totalitarian regime is Orthodox church. In the history of humanity, there was never country which had Orthodox religion, prosperous economy, and democracy. Russia resembles a hybrid between Brezhnev socialism (which was international) by nature of dictatorship and national socialism due extreme nationalism.
JWs are not the only non-orthodox religious group that faces oppression. If Putin manages to put them underground and illegality, it will actually boost WT membership ranks. JWs there survived Lenin and Stalin, and they will survive this. The biggest threat to WT membership ranks in Eastern Europe was actually steady rise of the living standard there and consumer society, where population under communism was deprived of goods and services. This changed in last 25 years with opened borders and full stores and population embraced this capitalist model.

Evidence that Earth is millions and millions years old (actually 4.5 billions) - a lot
Every mainstream religion accepts the evolution, including Orthodox and Catholic Church. The only issue with it have fundamentalist obscure Protestant sects that were founded by the semi-literate preachers 100 years ago among the most impoverished white population in America.
Fundamentalists have an issue with radiometric dating, but this is fairly standard and well established method everywhere. I actually have a chance to observe a measurements three weeks ago when I was on the faculty dealing with my research papers. Earth Science/CSc is my field and I deal with it on a daily basis. ICR is nothing more than pseudoscience, but humans are free to believe whatever they want, including mythology like Young Earth creationism.
