  it seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!

  the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?

  there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

  And so it begins...Britain youve been conned....tonight Daniel Hannan Tory mp and prominent leaver stated that Britain Will favour the Norway relationship post brexit, with....you guessed it...free movement of labour!
  

  I doubt EU will allow free labor movement and settling of British in EU after Brexit. This is something EU does not want it to happen. UK would have also continue other EU citizens to move there, something UK does not want to do so. So there will be issue of receptivity, Brits could not expect to live on NHS in respective EU countries, work there, and not expected to do so in return. They will be treated like Americans and Canadians when it comes to EU and labor market.

  Another issue I see will happen will be UK accreditation of education, licensing, and patents, because they will case to be in alignment with EU. And foreigner education without accreditation or mutual receptivity is pretty much worthless outside native countries.

  I'd agree with that proposition. The fallout for the EU is likely to be greater than anything that can happen to the UK.
  

  And, if there is a total dissolution of the EU, who will benefit from the new economic and political alliances that must form?

  There are analysis conducted by ECB, and many others estimates that all European economies will experience depression once European common market disintegrates somewhere between -10 to -25% depending on the country. UK was, is, and will be holding shorter end of the stick (smaller population, smaller economy, less technologically developed) than continental EU/Germany. Pound went down today 8% against $$$ and Soros estimates that it will go down by another 20%. 40 years of interconnected economic market will take a toll and market will bleed. People will lose jobs, companies will go under, and uncertainty will rock the financial markets for months or even years. You can look into USSR how it ended when common economic zone had disintegrated. And Russia had much more resources than present UK and at the end it meant absolutely nothing preventing full blown depression in 1990's.
  

  And who is benefiting from it? Putin was very happy with the vote, so is GOP.

  I suspect that after all the hype has died down, Brexit will have as much impact on "western civilization" as the Y2K bug did 16 years ago. (ie, virtually none.)

  Y2K created boom in IT. Nasdaq is bellow the peak in achieved 16 years ago and the effect from the boom/bust is still lingering today. The boom after 2003 till 2007 was short-lived and fueled by housing boom. American, Japan, and European real salaries did not recovered to the levels of 1999, almost entire generation. And we do not need to go too far into history when common market disintegrated and what was the economic cost. USSR is one of the example and Russia and all its ex-Soviet republics did not recover from this shock. UK / EU relationship is not much different, UK was a part of EU economic zone for 40+ years. UK (contrary what they think) is not economically unique and different from Russia when its economic zone disintegrated.

  Of course it is the end of Western Civilization as we know it. Europe is dying and decaying. As ex-European, I am amused and amazed how f.ed this Continent is every time I go there. Just comparing gas prices, choices of goods in the stores in relationship to USA, prices of almost all consumer products, tiny housing, dilapidated roads-cities-infrastructure-factories. And Europeans do not care! They just want to have a good time even when living standard is declining and stagnating. 1/4 to 2/5 of European youth is unemployed; yet they go live with their welfare money in some 3rd world country and party like is no tomorrow. 2/3 of Germans never will own house, they will just continue to rent. Almost half of Europeans do not own car, because they cannot afford it; but they being brainwashed by green-party ideology that they are environmentally conscious. Europe must bankrupt and get on its knees so people can learn to work and taking care for themselves instead depending on state and welfare.

  I know I just sound too critical of Europe, but Europeans totally resigned on improving their society and economy in the past 25 years. This can only change, when the society is totally down, and they have to start from nothing like did Germans after 1945.

  Question is how low the pound will go toward $$$. It is already in free fall, country has one of the largest indebtedness among European countries, and millions of Britons living EU taking advantage of Schengen and free movement.

  i used to try really hard to fit in when i was an active, true blue jw.

  somehow it hardly ever paid off.

  time after time i attempted to mingle and make jw friends.

  I can related to it. It was often due that my cousins were older by 10 years and I was automatically overlooked, so were my siblings. Generally, it was power structure, people at the apex and their offspring got the most attention. Once my cousins became elders, I got constantly compared by everyone to them. But I was never them, and never wanted to be. Also many guys came from big families. We had elder who had about six sons or so, so they stayed together, played together, and were judging everyone together. The exception was when they tried to date young, pretty women like my sister, and they felt that they are entitled to marry her.

  i know that some people on the board have experience of being mormons, so i would be interested in your feedback.

  at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.

  in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.

  My experience with Mormons are generally that they are racists, anti-semitic, and homophobic. Not all of them, but I noticed it in the presence of gay, black, and Jewish people. I had Mormon boss, and he was good, but again, there is a difference I observed when they dealt with a white guy and others.

  here in uk we have appalling choice between cameron / corby and some also rans.

  are trump/clinton best the worlds superpower can offer up?

  all candidates for office seem to be flawed , are no genuine people putting themselves forward?

  I am here with Lisa. I will be voting for Hillary, but I do not want her having a president. Possible Trump policy are far more disastrous for mankind. It is enough that Putin and China wants him to be a president. They know why. Trump will weaken NATO and American alliances, and would cede control of Eastern Europe back to Moscow. China is hoping to continue with bilateral trade which is one reason for economic imbalances in the world economy and benefits only handful of rich industrialists in USA while American workers suffer.

  had a great turn out today protesting against the baptist minister who praised the orlando massacre.

  my best guess is there were around 1,200 of us there.

  it was an entirely peaceful protest as we chanted "love conquers hate" and "we are orlando".
