  Jehovah's Witnesses Say They Are The Most Educated In The World. How Would You Prove Otherwise?

  I definitely agree they are cowards. Where is all that confidence in Jehovah when it comes to blasting Islam for being a snare and a racket? How about a few wise cracks about Muhammad being a false god?

  Anyway I think it must be based on some of what blondie posted about their history. Catholic judge threw Rutherford and the boys in jail. That combined with basic cheap publicity stunts (Bombastic talks, defamatory writing, picketing etc)

  Catholics barely know they exist. Thats what's so funny.

  org answers the important question that so many have... are jehovah's witnesses a cult?.

  jehovah's witnesses do not look to any human as their leader.

  IMHO an organization/sect is dangerous whenever it uses BITE control techniques to victimize its members to follow its leaders, or when it takes actions to protect the organization's image to the deteriment of its members' basic human rights and welfare.

  It is easy to not be a cult if you define what a cult is.

  Some think of a cult as people who kill pigs and drink their blood naked in time square on new years eve.

  Obviously we are not a cult.

  Why wouldn't they mention this reference - in the name of full disclosure? The truth has nothing to hide right?

  Is the Watchtower Really Rewriting their History through the DVDs and CD-ROM?s Historical Revisionist.

  i am searching for the materials showing the watchtower changing the original content like or examples of the following.. .

  "the preaching work will be finished in the 20th century and never be repeated".

  i heard they changed this gem, and many others, why are they so dishonest, their members are stuck in the mental mud, doubt they even read the new magazines so why are they going to the trouble of changing or revising their past magazines when the members wanting true christian freedom, practicing love and compassion will locate the revised materials?.

  I agree. They see the r&f as children. (I'm sure there are also some that don't believe at all like phizzy said)

  I believe they see the masses (publishers) as people who need someone to tell them what to do, what to believe, what to think, and basically need a fairy tale bedtime story every night to get through life.

  They perpetuate a childish dependence and repressed mental/emotional abilities. They do this under the guise of "taking care of the little sheep" that "can't handle the truth".

  While there may be some truth to people needing a "mommy", they show their hand when they threaten these same people (they claim to protect) with the cruelty of slander, scarlet-lettering, and banishment.

  How could a mentally underdeveloped, dependant, child-like person possibly deal with that level of threat?

  The answer is - they can't. They run under the bed and hide mentally waiting for "mommy" to make it all better.

  The control techniques are sinister, cruel, and abusive. There is no justification for it.

  The desperation is palpable.

  2014 has them losing sleep at night.

  Typical GB thoughts at night: (in a whispery voice) "Could it all dissappear?....... Have we reached our last peak? ............

  What will we say if our numbers start going down? ........

  We need another article to keep the flock in line! And we need another special campaign or two or three! Gotta keep 'em busy. Can't let 'em think!"

  If he died in 1978, then I wonder when did the ole boy make the comment?

  I would assume not in his dying breath.

  Did he say it ...oh....maybe in early 1975 when he and everybody else was all lathered up for the end?

  If so, I wonder if he felt the same way when the big "A" didn't come?

  The GB are so disingenuous. Who ever knows the time or circumstance or any other context of their quotes.

  Overwhelming Fear of Death

  do any of the posters on here deal with this?

  i do, and i hate it.

  people (mostly my brother) tells me to not fear death and just to enjoy life and so on, but that doesn't seem to help any.

  I like Pams girl's quote;

  "Don't be afraid to die, be afraid that you haven't lived...."

  If you you think about it, that's probably what the real fear is...that you haven't or are not presently really living.

  What would really really living look like to you? ...What does it feel like? What does it smell like? Who is there? What are you wearing? Where are you?

  Start taking steps toward that picture today.

  I recently read something I thought was pretty brilliant. Ask yourself, Where do I want to be in 5 years? And then start having a small piece of that now.

  For instance, let's say you want a life where you take a fabulous vacation every 3 months. Well make plans to go ahead and take whatever vacation you can afford now every 3 months - even if its just going out of town and staying with a relative for the weekend. Start the habit now and build from there.

  You want to be the person going for a jog 3 times a week? Start walking for 10 minutes 3 mornings a week now.

  Don't keep saying "one day I'll..." or "wouldn't it be nice if...." Have a taste of it now.

  When you are really living and creating the life you want you don't think about death.
