Dear Brothers:
We are writing as a follow-up to the letters dated January 24, 2014, and March 29, 2014,
to all congregations regarding the adjustments now underway to accelerate construction of King-
dom Halls and Assembly Halls.
The postscript of the March 29, 2014, letter provided instructions for the local needs part
on the Service Meeting for the week of May 5, 2014. This includes the need to present a resolu-
tion to the congregation by no later than May 31, 2014, documenting how your congregation will
financially support Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction worldwide. Please be advised
that further direction will soon be sent to the bodies of elders, which will assist you in finalizing
the monthly and one-time amount(s) you will propose to the congregation by way of a resolution.
If a survey is needed to determine the amount that can be contributed for local congrega-
tion expenses, this should be taken after reading the March 29 letter to the congregation during
the local needs part. However, the resolution to the congregation should be held in abeyance until
further direction is sent to the bodies of elders. If the congregation has already passed a resolution,
the elders should await further direction before sending the resolved funds to the branch office.
It is our privilege to be working alongside you during these momentous last days and we
want to express our warm Christian love and greetings as well as our appreciation for all of your
fine work.
Your brothers,
Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
do you think this is a fairer system and brothers who have never gotten a chance at being elder will finally get it since it's up to the co to decide?
how do you think that's going to work?
do you think the favoritism will go away or be marginalized?.
What made me see the truth about this organization was how corrupt many of the elders were and are.
I literally have seen it my entire life even as a child. The politics, the power trips and egos, the glory hogs, etc.
It bothered me deeply that this was going on in "Jehovah's Organization". I could not come to grips with it or make any sense of it.
Then it finally hit me.
I always blamed a business's personnel issues on their management. If a climate of back-biting or deceit was present, it usually meant the management was at the least turning their head but more likely that way themselves.
My point is... that the reason there are systemic personnel problems in this organization is because the problem goes all the way to the top.
So this small change in the appointment process will change nothing. It even has the potential to make it worse.

so proclaimed the brother that read the wt letter tonight that explained the new kingdom hall funding arrangement.. everyone in the hall claps .... well, like it was the last talk on the district convention.. he says 'what bank would wipe out a debt of $200,000 ???
only jehovah's organization!
isn't this wonderful !!!".
See, there is not "tithing" or "collections", but they will "resolution" your ass do death.. - Data-Dog
LOL....So so true.
Semantic games aplenty in this organization.

i will probably use this line in my bible highlights tonight!
it's from the 5/1/1950 wt article " a christian use of material wealth.
the money which is contributed by persons who accept the printed bible-study helps from jehovahs witnesses aids quite a bit in keeping the work going.
This would soon be followed by some muttered something about "New Light" and the "Faithful Slave" and "Jehovah's Organization. - Oubiette
Funny stuff. And very true.

The CO's will still be dealing with the body's recommendations most likely.
So I don't see much difference being made unless the CO throws his new-found weight around.
Have to wait and see what the new procedures will be.
the gb can kiss my ass.. i'm writing "0" on the little slip of paper they pass out.. hey here's a thought:.
you know that "widow's might" stuff they're always talking about?
well i'm pretty dang sure that the lady was giving from the heart not because she filled out some dumba$$ piece of paper pledging two small coins several months previous!.
Captain Obvious,
Thanks for the report. That was a brave brother to field any questions at all. I can't believe he did frankly. If the brother in our hall had taken questions it would have been quite a scene considering how poorly he explained it.
tornapart,
I agree with your hubby wholeheartedly.
Data Dog,
That's freaking unbelievable. What's up with the "Soliciting money? Absolutely not!" as they plainly do just that! Craziness.
Also strange to see the words Gospel and Grace in the text. So some things change and some things don't (like soliciting for money).
Thanks for the post.

JTG,
Direct Debit??!!!!!???!!!
Can't wait to see that survey! Thanks for the report too. It's hilarious how this is playing out everywhere.

Inbetween,
That confusion sounds just like how it felt at our meeting.
Bobcat,
I honestly can't believe those brothers handled it that way. That is absolutely wrong to expect people to come up with a number on the spot.
Not only is it completely a guilt trip along with social pressure, good luck getting numbers the brothers could actually use. Nobody wants to be seen writing a small number. The real contributions will be 1/4 of that total no doubt.
