Experienced Attorneys and Paralegals Needed at Bethel
It's almost like the Holy Spirit just isn't enough these days.

this week we have mention of the 12 tribes of israel in the bible study.
we have the same thing mentioned in the wt this week.
12 apostles are also mentioned (need to double check that one).
At our international conv., the visiting gb member asked for prayers for the gb. He said there's just a few of us.... with a wimper and a shrug of the shoulders. I was like, "please dude, you expect us to feel sorry for you?"
It's their system - they can appoint whoever they want, and we are supposed to feel sorry for them. He says this with his face on the jumbo-tron..... unreal.

if you walked up to any jw and said "i just spoke to satan" they would think you lost your mind.
while that reaction makes perfect sense in the real world, in wt land it doesn't add up.
here's why i say this -jw's are supposed to believe the following:.
Isn't it strange how Jehovah doesn't offer protection from car accidents or the flu, but seems to offer 100%, 24/7 constant protection for all of his followers worldwide, regardless of their level of faith, from direct contact by any wicked spirit creature on earth (or by any good spirits for that matter). Especially is this protection iron-clad when it comes to a conversation. I guess we could vaporize if a demon spoke to us and said "What's up?".
Remember a third of the - myriads upon myriads - of angels fell with Satan and are trapped on earth. So that's a lot of protection. Praise Jah you people!
Only elders are supposed to talk to apostates - prologos
Then I am doing a lot of what I'm supposed to be doing - LOL... (still no sign of Satan tho)

i have read the site with great interest over the last few weeks.
some interesting stuff thats for sure.. i have left the jehovah's witnesses (was almost going to say the 'truth') for some time now.
i was one of the lucky ones that was baptised then faded, no humiliating disfellowshipping but nonetheless was very hard to get myself out.
Welcome WateredDown...

boc,
They seem to believe in a concept called "Satan" - the illusive "Boogeyman", the easy scapegoat to blame for everything evil or undesirable.
It seems they don't actually believe in Satan the person. Otherwise hearing his voice would not be a sign of mental problems in their community. To me this is a super simple "rubber meets the road" topic. It's one thing to say you believe in Satan and blame him for everything, but quite another to have a conversation with him - or at least believe a conversation would be possible.
I think it exposes the lack of true depth in their faith and the "doublethink" that is so prevalent in the religion.

A very strange situation - people believing two completely opposite realities - Simon
It is always fun to turn left and right at the same time mentally. Very healthy. (sarcasm)
Is it any wonder that JW's have zero critical thinking abilities? They are convinced (or should I say conned) into shutting these parts of their brain off. They must do this to trudge through the belief system.

If JW's actually believed all the above 6 points, wouldn't they expect a conversation to be possible with Satan today? I'm telling you, if you walked up to a Circuit Overseer and said that you just spoke to Satan and you were concerned about something Satan said - that dude would freak out! It would spread quickly that you were not mentally stable.
I find this inconsistency interesting and telling. What do you think?

why do jehovah's witnesses as individual members readily think that apostates are having a sweeping mass delusion?
if some jw's have known you for a long time do they really think you based everything on some random delusion you randomly had instead of confirming the information?.
it's quite retarded even the bible itself is contradicting them in jeremiah about the 70 years.. i know some know, and some choose not to know but what about the rest?.
I actually now think that the WT has vilified apostates beyond even Ole Satan himself. I also believe the term apostate is more feared than the term Satan.
Think about this for a second... If you got the thought-stopping question of "Where did you hear that?" or "Are you visiting apostate sites?", ....imagine if you said "No I was talking to Satan and he told me... And since Jesus gave Satan a reply, I wanted to do the same."
that would be a great recorded meeting with elders...lol
