  A serving elder's take on the new "tithing" arrangement

  the gb can kiss my ass.. i'm writing "0" on the little slip of paper they pass out.. hey here's a thought:.

  you know that "widow's might" stuff they're always talking about?

  well i'm pretty dang sure that the lady was giving from the heart not because she filled out some dumba$$ piece of paper pledging two small coins several months previous!.

  Stirred....Well the paper slip thing is supposed to be anonymous so even if they give you the paper, just tell them you will pray about it.

  Then drop it in the contribution box or time box or whatever at a later date...(don't know what the official instructions will be at your hall).

  Whatever you do...don't give it to an elder personally - even if that is the instructions.

  If you are instructed to give it to your group overseer or whatever then that will make it a bit more complicated. You will have to get a couple other people to go along with you and drop it in the box so you are not the only one.

  Just some thoughts. Sad what they are doing to people.

  after the reading out of the letter about the "new donation arrangement" this week, there is going to be a flood of money pouring into the org's coffers!.

  not only from the bank accounts of the sheep, but soon after from the bulk of money in kingdom hall accounts worldwide!.

  question: has anyone calculated how much cash could be grabbed from the 113,823 congregations on earth?.

  frankiespeakin - they will just sit on the pile of cash and ride it to a grinding halt screaming "PERSECUTION!" the whole while.

  This GB is set for the rest of their lives. No problem.

  What's Your Scenario For The Watchtower Corporation's Business Future? Will They Survive Much Longer In This Information Age?

  the internet a marvel of modern science, mass communication, information at your finger tips is transforming peoples lives.

  but alas the whole thing took the governing body by surprise as they continued to pin their hopes on childishly magical and wishful thinking bible interpetations.. the train has left the station and the governing body are just now comming to terms with it(the internet), while they still demonize it for its freeing power, and plethora of information that doesn't fit with their narrow world view they must still navigate a path that includes or give some recognition to this information source now becomming availible to all all over the world.. how will the watchtower survive all this and still be directed by a bunch of delusional old and odd geezers is beyound me to comprehend.

  what say you?.

  I think the growth will slow and then reverse.

  I see the collective IQ dropping all along the way.

  They will just spin it into a new storyline - one that is not about growth but increasingly about being the "chosen few."

  You might could even say that it reminds you of the point Paul made at 2 cor 9:7 where he said

  "Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

  I Plan To Attend A Meeting and I Have a Question

  besides the bible, songbook, kingdom ministry, and draw close to jehovah book, are there any other books i need in order to attend the tuesday/wensday/thursday night meeting.

  do they still use a book for the theocratic ministry school and is it the same one from 7+ years ago?.

  MTS & Gilead: Can we talk about how much of a FAILURE these 2 schools were/are?

  i know quite a few from both of these schools who basically crashed and burned once they got into their assignments.

  graduates of these schools would be thrown into foreign territorities or remote areas without a good visible means of support and would get emotionally, mentally, financially burned out.

  post your experiences or of those you know that went to these pitiful excuses for educational institutions..

  What always amazed me was how much respect and adoration was suddenly given to a brother that went to MTS.

  I mean a misfit brother could turn into a spiritual superhero after just a few weeks of this course.

  I don't remember how long the course was around here, but it was less than 90 days.

  You would think they went off to JW college for 6 or 8 years and received some kind of degree in JW Theology/Administration.

  There is a brother around here that went to MTS like 10+ years ago. It still is touted on his resume like its a PHD.

  That's how uneducated the dubs are. A 90 day course is called a "school" and is the equivalent of a PHD in their world!

  Yeah our hall has about $10,000 total. Im sure there are some with 6 figures in the bank.

  I think the number 5000 is a good estimate.

  It's the same one. You don't really need it though.

  Look at the service meeting schedule you may need a yearbook or something for a part if you want to follow along.

  The re-allocation of real estate and printing is not inconsequential.

  Canada is printing for the US, which justifies the US sending "payment" for the mags. A legal way to launder money out of the US corps. that face liability issues. There are many legal ways for corps. to protect assets under numerous entities, esp. when they are multi-national. - berrygerry

  I suppose interest free loans would still be transacted and therefore "locked" into the US assets of the Corporation. By absolving all loans and just receiving "donations" the Corporation no longer runs a US quasi-business component within it and all the new cash can be freely moved anywhere on the planet without ledger accounts pinning it to US operations.

  I imagine this would eliminate many finacial "books" that the could be ordered by the supreme court to be seized or frozen - wallsofjericho

  Strong Points....probably closer to the truth than we will ever know.
