social media is saying that this individual was a jehovah's witness.

can someone from the southern california area confirm this.

I can tell you that the congregation Joseph was in is trying hard to insulate and shield 'Jehovah' and his dubious organization (WT Society) by saying that he (Joseph) was for the longest time a disturbed young man.

I can also share with this forum that his friends and some family members feel that the deceased left them with a hard burden to tow...that of having to explain how a member of their faith could bring such reproach on God's name. In other words, surviving JWs are not so much concerned about Joseph's pain and suffering that drove him to end his own life as they are the bad publicity this will bring on the organization otherwise known as 'Jehovah's Witnesses'!

WATCHTOWER IN A PANIC!

jws are in need of more kingdom halls in many major u.s. cities.

at this years agm where it is expected that most of the faithful will be able to listen to the meeting (being tied in by video), dont be surprised if the wts 8 gb members take part in a symposium delivering some long winded appeal, petition, plea, proposal, proposition, solicitation or otherwise hit-on the masses for $$$ in order to lighten the burden and overuse that many kingdom halls are experiencing.

an acquaintance from the west coast mentioned to me that in late august thru early september of this year that a number of pow-wows involving close to 5,000 elders from numerous areas (riverside, los angeles, ventura and orange counties) took place to drum up financial support from the 800+ (not sure) congregations in those areas.
