I'd rather hand out bills for real estate projects out in the sun than stand there looking like a fool with these ragazines.

JWS moving into the 2010s: GREATER FOCUS ON "PUBLIC' VENUE PREACHING
by steve2 inincreasingly, jw.org and its print publications show lots of pictures of witnesses preaching one-to-one to "interested" passersby in public venues in contrast with fewer pictures depicting the door-to-door work.
sure, d-t-d is still the organizatrion's mainstay activity - but clearly it pushes at every opportunity the need for the rank and file to "go" public.. this push could be a two-edge sword: there is obviously a hard core of witnesses whose dispositions draw them to this type of social outreach: they almost rush out to do this public-venue work, prefering it to d-t-d. but i'd hazard a guess that for the bulk of those in local congregations, the public-venue witnessing would be a total turn off.. to date, in new zealand, i have seen no evidence of jws doing this public venue witnessing - despite the huge push on jw.org and in the publications.
kiwis just don't seem inclined to put themselves out in public places - or if they do, it is in a kind of very muted way (i.e., almost out of sight and unobtrusive).. this site has shown that in a few places, including mexico, at least a few of the more publicly zealous witnesses are doing the public work big time.. is the public venue preaching happening elsewhere, such as asia?

Welcome, thedog1.
I've been wondering if there's any elder at all, currently conducting the WT study, who is doubting what the WT (not the Bible) has been teaching about the FDS, generation, etc. Being a sister in the audience, it makes me quite sick to the stomach to hear all these new light and I just hope the elder conducting the study does not believe it either. But even if that were the case, he's very good at faking it because he still speaks like he believes it ALTHOUGH he sometimes peppers it with "the current understanding."
Anyway, I am happy to know that a WT study-conducting elder has awakened. I just wish you were in my congregation.
Please know that you are not alone. Trust YOUR conscience.

I've become a depressed person since learning "the truth."
Now, after learning TTATT, I became severely depressed for almost a month. Not doing anything, not taking good care of my house, myself, I was literally stuck feeling all alone and empty. And I gained a lot of weight.
Now, I'm learning to go through the motions although listening to every meeting and assembly talk makes me want to puke and hope that lightning hits the building.

Hortensia, reading your post made me crave for tea. You write in such an engaging tone. : )
Back to the topic, I like tea and have lots of tea leaves, flavored teas, milk teas lying around at home but I'm just too lazy to prepare a drink.
My Chinese friends would always tell me to drink tea after each meal as it helps in digestion and losing weight. I think it really works for them because they never get fat although most of their food is oily..

A Faders Guide to Field Service
by pronomono inas a fader, i'm working on a mental guide to field service.
because most of this is a mental exercise realizing that your new knowledge, the mental side of things, is what makes it so hard to preach after learning ttatt.
what presentations have you used in field service as a fader to preach the good news without preaching jw propaganda?.

I had to join the dreaded FS recently. Oh, well... I must say I have grown apathetic (since many things are LIES after all) but sometimes I would feel sorry for my partner (in her late 40's) who'd run up the street to catch a passing 'target' and just get ignored in the end.

If I was out I'd...
by OneDayillBeFree inwhat kinds of things would you like to do if you were out of the organization?
and if you're already out and free, what kinds of things did you do that you really wanted to do but couldn't because it was against jw beleiefs?.
recently, i overheard some of the younger crowd of jw's after a meeting talking about how they wished they could have this or do that, get tattoos, play the newest video games (you know, the ones with all the violence and realistic 'kickass' graphics and such), grow out their beards for 'no shave november" wear miniskirts and dye their hair crazy colours... etc.

... probably resort to drinking and smoking to cope with my loneliness. Said my Bible study conductor.
I'd say I'd start meeting new people and guys included, to start my love life for the first time.

The TRUTH about Jehovah's Wittnesses (from MY 22 YRS. EXPERIENCE) - A MUST READ!
by gmason972 ini have learned to stay away from all religion and jehovahs wittness doctrine (that includes the watchtower and awake magazines).
stay away from positions of ministerial servant, pioneer, aux pioneer, elder, and the like.
once you become a full fledged jehovah wittness you are doomed to be unhappy.

I agree with everything you wrote.
I felt that I had a better relationship with Him while I was still studying. I was an optimist. But, after I got baptized, my faith in God has been blurred by a lot of Watchtower doctrine. I became a pessimist and judgmental of other people. You have to be in the organization to know how it feels. And yes, I thought I was the only one feeling the emptiness and suffering in silence. I was wrong!
Thanks for your initial post and welcome to JWN.

10,000 year old spear point found in FL - man is only 6,000 years old?
by Comatose inhttp://www.cnn.com/2013/11/16/us/florida-spring-artifacts/index.html?hpt=hp_c2.
as evidence piles up, will we reach a tipping point where people begin accepting the age of humans existence?.
he described as "phenomenal" the preservation of the finds, whose location as many as 5 feet deep in oxygen-free sediment had protected them from decay.. they include a suwannee projectile point -- a spear point -- whose estimated age of 10,000 years puts it "right at the cusp of the end of the ice age," arbuthnot said.
