Tell them you're flying to the other side of the world to encourage a "spiritually weak" sister (me).
Then take a roundtrip to my country and in 2 days you would have met the 30 hours. :p
ok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

and you wrote a letter,.
who would you write to?
.
If healthy for 30 days:
I'd write my family's story as I remember from childhood. And thank the people I love and care much about.
If not that healthy:
I'd probably just sit on a rocking chair at the porch, cuddling a cat, feel the breeze, close my eyes while smiling and remembering all the good times.
gb member anthony morris mentioned a letter that was sent to bethel by a concerned jw fearing the gt.
he mentioned it on the last sunday talk.
i always wondered if any letter sent to bethel ever reached gb eyes.
What if that was a lie, just so he could discuss something he wanted to in the first place?
What if he said that someone wrote them, feeling guilty about not being able to do field serve-us but instead makes up for it with monthly $$$$ donations?
Would he or any other GB member say thay is crazy??
this is from the iglesia ni cristo, another jw-like religion.
they even boast about growing numbers and having missionaries in other countries.
the only thing is they made it to the yahoo!
They are popular in the Philippines for supporting candidates during election and overall getting respect from the government, same as how it treats Catholics and Muslims.
By the way, my Filipino friend told me that Iglesia just built that arena, the biggest in the world. Look it up.
i am sure this topic has probably been discussed many times before but,......... i would like reassurance that i am not the only one who gagged every time i heard a jw pontificating on their fantasy version of what "paradise" will be like.
particularly when it comes to the animals.
more specifically, that the animals will all become vegetarians.
I never believed in the JW's story of paradise. I studied for so many years and got baptized because I guess I needed a sense of belonging. I wanted to believe I could meet my father again after his death. But, paradise... it is still very strange to me.
yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.
.
Pressuring everyone to take part in this grand campaign to trumpet the website as a solution to mankind's problems. What happened to him up there?
How glorious.
for over thirty years i observed among jws the phenomenon of co worship/idolatry.
i, myself, was somewhat guilty of it even though i rather quickly caught on and detected something wrong.. think about the week of the co visit.
during that week most attention is given to and most thought is about the co. the supposed sovereign of the universe takes a backseat.
I've never cared about CO visits. Always felt like they were extremely pampered and spoiled. Field circus was a joke. The last CO was a sweaty pompous guy who did not have finesse.. was quite rude and goofy.
New CO visited last week, I heard. Of course, I never showed up during the entire week.
All that "upbuilding" stuff is fake.
do gb members poop?.
the question arises because of the great similarities i see between jw land and n korea.
for one thing, the information flow is the same in the two realms; its one way from the top down.
Of course, they do. More often than us.
That's why they keep publishing those magazines because they already ran out of toilet paper.
this is one of the most memorable films that i have ever seen.. for any one of us, i think we can relate in some ways to audrey hepburn's character... .

Lol. You have quite some time on your hands, Focus (just like the rest of us).
Would you mind sharing what made you come back to the site after several / many years?
