... you hear the word 'system' and immediately add the phrase 'of things' in your mind.

There was one episode in The Nanny where Sylvia Fine was lamenting that she no longer looked attractive to Morty, despite even standing by the door naked. And then she said something like, "meanwhile you will never see another Jehovah's Witness again."
I just can't find that episode...

Artificial Intelligence and 2019
by fulltimestudent ini was intrigued by a forecast made by damo academy, the in-house technology and science research arm of china's, huge e-commerce business,, alibaba.. they seem to be predicting the following technology trends for 2019 and that artificial intelligence would continue to be the ho area of progress.. so what do any techies hanging out here think?
safe predictions?
wild guesses?

A number of these tech trends have started to be tackled (advance research stage to prototype development stage) in the R&D department of a tech company where a brother I know works. These are no longer surprising.

All this use of lovely words into something else with ulterior and deceitful meaning by the WT is making me sick.
I mean, why taint the word 'bouquet'?
Some other words that have changed their meanings (to me):
1) Time (as in service time; brothers and sisters being 'nice' to you and spending time with you just so they can submit their field service report hours)
2) Smile (kingdom smile; fake smile; coerced smile)
3) Privilege (servitude + bragging rights to regular JWs)

Congratulations on your awakening!
It will be tough, for sure, especially right after you realize what the "truth" was all about.
But, please hang on. It gets better with time.
There are many folks here who are ready to support.
In my case, I became "spiritually weak", "depressed", "busy with work".. until I faded. I am now inactive, but still maintain regular contact with my JW "friends". They need the field service hours, after all.
I no longer absorb the lies being fed. I tune out when I occasionally attend meetings. No one has bothered me too much. Someday I will completely disconnect. But this situation is working for me now.

How do you feel about your "Bible studies" now?
by ohnightdivine ini'm not sure how best to ask this question because of my personal experience-- long story short, i was discovered through informal witnessing back in college.
i was lonely, away from family, and was touched by the attention and care that was shown to me.
during the course of many years i became very very close with the sister conducting the study even though we were thousands of miles away.

@DesirousOfChange - I got baptized eventually and maintained contact with her. But I haven't had much "good news" to share with my Bible study conductor about being active in the "ministry" and really living the JW life. That's what she wanted to hear from me. So I guess it isn't that different from being a non-JW...
@Roddy, as far as I can remember, nothing. I think she got tired of me being somehow dependent on her on an emotional level. I also got tired of feeling like I didn't measure up to her standard of being a JW and of feeling like I was being judged because I continued working at the time and not live a more challenging lifestyle (meaning, just doing part-time work in order to preach).
I still love her as a human being. I feel pity for her because she told me way before that without learning about the "truth", she would've just gave up on life many years ago. So this religion is something that for her, sustains her "hope".
So now... to change the tone of this thread, I'd like to know from other people's viewpoint:
- How they felt about their "Bible students" at the time
- How they feel about their "Bible students" now, especially if the conductor already learned TTATT. Do you any sort of guilt... have you tried to talk to your previous "Bible students"--now active JWs--about how you feel about this situation now?
