Interestingly disturbing!

i work in the medical field and every 2 years i need 24 hours if continuing education to stay licensed.

my deadline is coming up and i am taking the classes this week and next week.

heres the thing, i scheduled them both on sundays and ive procrastinated over this two year renewal period.

The most Disturbing Story in the Bible

i posted elsewhere about dr. james tabor's take on the book of revelation as re-write of an earlier non-christian document.

but in browsing his site i was reminded of an early biblical story in genesis that essentially throws so much jewish and subsequent christian thinking out of the window.. .

can your mind handle the concept of yahweh standing in front of you, with a human body like yours, eating, drinking.

For me the most shocking and barbarious story in the Bible is about a man stoned to death for picking up sticks on a Sabbath. Its equivalent to stoning people who do not attend church but work for thier living on Sundays, in this modern era. I cannot ever Forgive Jah(if he really exisits) or the Moses gang (If this was really implemented) nor the christains today who justify this.

Satan thrown to earth "about" 1914?

so i'm thumbing through the new "silver sword" and i notice that in the appendix under "message of the bible" that it says, "about 1914 jesus hurls the serpent satan to the earth...." i can't remeber ever hearing the word "about" and 1914 placed together before in regards to this event.

are there any jwapologists, or anyone else for that matter, who have an explanation for this?.

Why is TRUTH banned in so many countries ?

while i was a jw, i used to wonder why truth, the most important message from the most high, is banned in so many countries.

china, saudi arabia, singapore, north korea and so on..... why cant jah lift the ban on those countries ?

While I was a JW, I used to wonder why TRUTH, the most important message from the most high, is banned in so many countries. China, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, North Korea and so on..... Why cant Jah lift the ban on those countries ?

I used to inquire about this to the JW friends back then who would say that Jah would lift the ban in the appropriate time. But when... Why does he wait so long ? Also some Dubs would say that Jah is spreading the Truth in those countries through the internet. But I used to wonder Why such sneaky ways ? Why cant the Almighty just send an angel to those countries rulers and just order them to lift the Ban. Isn’t this possible by the Almighty ?

According to JW, the Truth died out in the first century and was resurrected 1875 years by CT Russell. Already this was late by 1875 years. Again, since then, the Truth is banned still in so many countries. Have you people ever thought about this... Comments and thoughts please.

Shreks Talking Donkey Vs Biblical Miracles

i am an ex jw who acted as a robot to the wt corporation for 12 years and then finally found the ttatt.

yes, i would say that i was a robot and not a slave to wt because slaves do think, even though they dont have the power to free themselves.. upon exiting the wt i did some extensive research on the bible, believing there is still some true religion out there.

amazingly, my respect for the bible came down like a pack of cards, after my little research, if not fully.. the scientific errors, contradictions, wickedness, cruelty and a bizarre human sacrifice to please a god, everything is ridiculous.. we all must have seen the movie shrek, where the main character in it is a talking donkey.

The Scientific errors, Contradictions, Wickedness, Cruelty and a bizarre Human sacrifice to please a GOD, everything is ridiculous.

We all must have seen the movie Shrek, where the main character in it is a talking donkey. I very much loved the movie for that Donkeys' character, which talks and talks and does all mischievous things. But we realize this is a just a movie - an imagination for amusement and I would be a fool if I think that is real.

Similarly, to believe in all those talking snake/Donkey Stories found in the Bible and various other absurd so called miracles, is an insult to my common sense. My basic common sense says that all these are fairy tale accounts, written by some anonymous, ignorant, probably insane writer some where in the Middle East, purely for his or others amusement.

Assuming God created us, He has given us common sense and he expects us to use it. This common sense is what makes us unique from all other species in this world. We use this common sense in almost all aspects of our daily life. But there are Billions who detach their common sense, when it comes to religions

Going and preaching that the Bible is real, is just like preaching that Shrek’s talking donkey is real. I may get some infuriated comments from theists. That’s ok. I vented out my anger that I was fooled by a Corporation for almost a decade. Sorry theists.

How I recently handled JWs at my door

the jws stopped by my house a couple weeks ago on a saturday morning.

i knew that with others most likely waiting for them out in the car they probably did not then have much time to engage in any serious conversation.

so i let them talk while i feigned interest in what they had to say.

Hi Christian Guy, I really appreaciate your logical tactics in dealing with a JWs. It seems you are a true christian who dedicates much of your life to Jesus. Do some research about the historicity of Jesus, Gospels and the way the Bible was finally edited and compiled. And then make a sound decision, if its really worth to be a Christian.

Can one find God without studying the Bible?

i don't recall jesus ever once telling people that they should even read the bible to find god.. he said nothing about 'taking in knowledge' either.. .

he didn't encourage people to read the bible because 90% of people in his day couldn't read!

the bible was not read by most people, it was -heard- when someone else read it aloud.

i am pretty annoyed to read/hear them saying that they are the true christian religion because they preach, follow the bible bla..bla..bla... let's list down the things in the bible that they don't follow/do.

i'm sure they are plenty.. the fruits of the holy spirit, that's for a start.. .
