Due to my overzealous spirit as a JW, I hurt many Christendom relatives and friends accusing them as Babylon the Great and serving Satan. I apologize to them now, admitting my stupidity.

Where do I go now?
by Libby inso i thought my purpose was to serve jehovah and get baptised.
where do i go now to get baptised?
is baptism even a requirement for serving god or was that just for the disciples and people of that time.

Welcome to the forum.
There is no need to go anywhere. This is Just another form of threat from cults, for people who wish to leave.
Baptism is a an ancient ritual that locks you in a religion and makes you a slave of it. Nothing more. When I was baptized I never felt the Holy spirit (Even anytime thereafter in all my 11 years as a JW) because this Holy spirit and stuff are all just imaginations.
I quit praying during the last few years as a JW because I realized that prayer is nothing but talking to ourselves. Nothing is as ineffective as Prayer.
Do a research about religions that you are inclined to, and you will know the truth. Just live your life. Make others and yourself happy. Life would be fulfilling.

My Wife and I got baptized together and after 11 years in the religion I came to realize it was a cult. Wrote a disassociation letter 5 years ago. Still happily married. Very often I try to plant seeds of truth in her, especially while watching documentaries about Evolution and so on. Maintaining peace and love is highly essential. I often assure her that my unconditional love and support would continue even if she changes to another religion or totally quits everything. I consider her as a cult victim and this gives me the patience to move along with life despite the differences.

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

I was advised by an elder in India not to practice yoga, because Yoga trains us to clear our mind and if our mind is empty seven demons may come and occupy it (Mathew 12:43). Looking back, this cultist advise amuses me greatly now.

Why do they flee and hide
by eyeuse2badub insomething that has often struck me in my morning musings is: why should “god’s people” ever need to hide or flee in fear?.
there are numerous accounts recorded in the bible, both ot and nt, where prophets, kings, apostles and others have either been told to flee and hide or have just experienced that normal human feeling of fear and have fled and hidden instinctively.
even recently, the wtbts has produced vivid images in the wt magazine and videos of “god’s people” hiding out in bunkers to avoid detection.. is it just another broken promise from jehober that he will “without fail” protect “his people”?

Whats in it for them?
by Moster ini have been out for nearly 40 years now - baptized at 14 (although not to the org), but faded away.
but i am wondering about this:.
aside from the obvious power they wield, what's is in it for the gb?
-
EverApostate
In all my life I have never flown in a business class. I think the GB is entitled for a business class whenever they fly. I have contributed for that for 15 years. Just my 2 cents

This really does not end well for God.
by pleaseresearch into say this whole creation thing has been or will be a success at the end is absurd.
not only did one third of the angels jump ship to satans side.
but adam and eve screwed up so quickly.

ColdSteel: You have no idea of what lay behind the war in heaven, as it's called.
Why should there be a war in heaven, as the Bible says ? War is possible only with materialistic and tangible living things. God and his angelic myriads are spirit creatures and how do you think a war is practical in this respect. Cant god inactivate the rebelling angels in a split second, stripping them off their power. (Or even faster since he is infinitely powerful)

God of the Old Testament
by unsure into those on these forums who are christian and or to those who believe in the god of the old testament; how does one overcome many of the questionable actions god took or allowed to happen in the old testament?.
many if not most of us have heard of criticisms of the god of the old testament.
you can find these criticisms on many websites.. how do you explain to an honest hearted person why god acted the way they did?.

"The road to Atheism is littered with bibles, read cover to cover". Sorry to post this quote from an atheist website but this has been very true in my life. The more you read the Bible with an open mind, the more faith you lose.
