May be the Biblical "Compilers" thought there was enough bloodshed and nonsense in the existing books and there wasn't any need to add more.

The toughest time for me was after Lunch in Assemblies/Conventions. Would feel so sleepy that I would get up and roam the corridors. Happy now, that I could doze off in my couch watching a boring movie, on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon.

"Even if this wasn't the truth, I would still stay. This is the best life to live..."
by HereIgo ini was recently told this by a jw family member when trying to get through to them.
does this quote indicate that maybe such ones have considered that the jw's may not have the truth after all?
or is that just my wishful thinking?

Letting your children die for an ever changing interpretation of an ancient blood rule, written by nomads -is the best way to live ?

Before I left I said this in a WT answer
by Chook inthis when i believed, i said no one really believes armageddon is imminent because we would sell our possessions and preach the remaining short time , i said we all like a each way bet.
i was always a loose canon with the microphone.
i once said if bible was in movie form jws would be forbidden to watch..

I too said similar before exiting the cult. If the whole Bible is made into a movie, it would be rated a triple R, for all those violence and Incest (Lot's Story). Not in the meeting comments, but to every JW who counselled me.

nowwhat? So getting up and dressed. on Saturday morning after working all week. Just to drive around and knock on not at homes. And then go to a snoozefest meeting on a Sunday afternoon, then turn around and have to go to work on Monday. Is the best life ever?

Genesis chapter one can make your life meaningful and joyful
by venus inliteral reading of genesis chapter one brings no benefit because you would see god as speaking to fishes and birds (genesis 1:22) which we know is not possible.
however, with “a king’s mind” if one looks for the implied truth behind its literary allusions it may bring immense benefit.
(proverb 25:2) for example:.

11.Let the earth cause grass to sprout, seed-bearing plants and fruit trees according to their kinds, yielding fruit along with seed on the earth.” And it was so. 12 And the earth began to produce grass, seed-bearing plants and trees yielding fruit along with seed, according to their kinds.
All the above vegetation were created before the sun and the moon. How to take this as "Meaningful" ?

Why did Jesus not use God’s name Jehovah?
by venus inno one doubts jesus extensively spoke about god’s kingdom because he said: “i must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of god to the other towns also, because that is why i was sent.” (luke 4:43) yet christian sects are divided over the subject whether jesus used god’s name or not.. it is said that god’s name jehovah was revealed to moses.
however jesus knew moses was not trustworthy.
(mathew 19:8) moses born and brought up in egypt could have been influenced by egyptian knowledge.

There is a basic question here that begs attention. For anyone who takes Jesus's words seriously.
Why didn't Jesus record his words in his own writing. He is the Second most powerful God in this universe(Or Almighty for Christian sects) but he fails to make an undeniable evidence, about his presence
Any important official who visits another country, makes some sort of personal signature in any documents during that visit, which will be preserved by the host country. Nothing for Jesus, of that sort, who came on an all important mission to save mankind
Somebody records what he supposedly said, many years later. Doesn't sound fishy here ?
Sorry for not answering the intended question here, as it comes next only to what I had mentioned above.

Spirit directed vs inspired
by Jules Saturn ini've always been confused as to what the discrepancy is between the phrases "spirit directed/spirit led" and "inspired".
in the february 2017 watchtower study article, paragraph 12 says:.
12 the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.

No way this WT can make so many failed predictions and Doctrinal changes all the way , if it is spirit inspired or directed, whatsoever. Everything boils down to the fact that there is nothing called "Holy Spirits". Only acidic spirits, the world knows of.

Anyone taken the Metropolitan Museum of Art JW tour, "The Woman and Her Offspring"?
by Cadellin inthese are apparently private tours by jws (pios who do it for a "contribution," i believe), who highlight the "historical evidence" for various bible events or prophecies.
there are a variety of themes, but i had a relative just take one on the woman and the seed/offspring (is "offspring" the new word for jws?).
she thought it was the most amazing thing since sliced bread but i was curious if anyone here has taken one and what their take is....

I have taken the tour in New york, some 8 years before, when this was started. My local Congregation zealots created a Hype that the Museum is full of Biblical evidences, to be seen and get encouraged. They also said that the Museum supports more of Creation rather than Evolution. I was a halfway "Apostate" during that time and thought I could give a try.
To my dismay, the tour was anything but they promised. No evidence of creation...No Biblical evidences… nothing. The tour conductor showed us a small dwelling, which was said to be prevalent during those ancient times, and which may have been a similar housing where Paul dwelt. Nothing more. All other things he went through was just ancient stuff, but no way connected to the Bible.
Not surprised now, after having known about all the deceptive tactics of Watchtower.
