the title does ask a great question.

those who would deny that the bible is divine in origin usually point to failed prophecy, events that do not mesh with historic evidence, scientific evidence, or even plagiarism from other religions.

Maybe God knew we would figure much of these things out by ourselves.

A parent doesnt allow the kids to figure things out by themselves. Its dangerous for the kids too. And god allowed nearly 5600 Years for mankind to figure out that diseases are caused by germs ? And that the earth spins around the sun ?

The Bible speaks a lot about core values we need to embrace if we want the human race to survive long into the future.

How about stoning a man to death because he picked up sticks on the Sabbath

How about owning slaves as well as beating them. These are all gods commands.

How about Jesus saying "Leave your family and come after me". "Hate your family and come after me"

How about Pauls advise that "Women should not speak in the congreagation"

There are more core valuses in Buddhism that are more humane than those in the Bible. I am not a Buddhist. Just saying.

i heard most of the top brass have been ousted and replaced for foreign brothers and several in top position have been deleted from the india branch...is this true... any one have info on latest developments.....

I got sucked into this cult, while in India and was in this religion for 11 years until I came to know about TTAT and freed myself.

Yes Indian elders consider themselves as Angels and look down upon the common Rank and File JW. Too much of self righteousness and control. I have experienced this

If Bible was really the word of God, at least the following should be contained in the Bible:

Germ theory - Reason behind how germs, bacteria and pathogens attack or benefit other living things.

Astronomy - Should have mentioned the simple science of this solar system, planets, stars and galaxies.

Physiology of human body- How the human body (At least humans) works and is made up of.

THe Bible mentions the following, which are of no use to mankind at all

Diseases are caused by sins, slaughters, Genocides, blood shed, incest, talking snakes and donkeys, Solomons 600 wives and 300 concubines, Genealogy of Jesus(Contradiction here again) and other nomads, women inferior to men, a hypothetical ransom sacrifice…..

IMHO the bible cannot be the word of God. Neither does any other religious Books that claim so.

Why does god want to commuicate to humans when Electricity wasnt invented. WHy cant god make an appearance today to the whole world and relay it live on TV.

Also, Paul was an Over zealous religious freak who wrote down things based on assumptions and rumours.

So most of us here were once worshipping a god who didnt reveal the correct pronounciation of his name nor prevent his name from being erased in his Holy book

isn`t there enough evidence to acknowledge the god of the bible has been a failure ?according to wt / jw teachings ?.

a god that has supposed to have created the visible universe and everything in it ?.

some points where i would challenge that from an earthlings point of view using the bible if only in paraphrase.. doesn`t god create everything perfect ?

Jehovah is perfect. And he cannot sin.

How can an Epitome of perfection create humans who can sin and loose perfection ?

Why didnt he create humans incapable of sinning ? Many excuse that with Free will. Doesnt Jah have free will and cant sin at the same time. How about that.

Nowhere in the Bible is slavery condemned

Not only that, it allows the slave owners to beat their slaves. The Bible can be banned for this one reason

Exodus 21

20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.

If God exists, what would be a good reason why he never communicates or helps his creation by intervention?

you have probably heard all kinds of excuses why god doesn’t communicates with his creation or why he doesn’t intervene.. some examples.. no one can see god because he is a spirit.. but we can hear god---yet he chooses not to talk to humanity.. god only communicates with certain people.

moses, samuel, abraham, etc.

but there are many people today who also claim that god spoke to them yet we ignore them but believe god spoke to people who lived thousands of years ago and we can’t really verify if that was so.

Fair Conclusion. God never exists. At least the Biblical god never exists.

if jw wants to know the truth about the truth, what will you talk about first?

I would ask them:

Do you really know Watchtowers history ? 1975 fiasco, ban on vaccination and organ transplants. How many died refusing blood fractions ?

Do you 100% beleive what the WT teaches you ?

Of coursse I would only ask these to people < 60 years of age. Dont want to collapse the feeling of eldery and send them down a depression lane.

During my life in the cult, many times the FS elder(and in meetings too) would advise us to catch those who are vulnerable....the poor, people who lost loved ones, people suffering in diseases....

Even now I think the JWs have the habit of searching Obituary advertisements and writing to them about the resurrection hope (Cult recruitment)
