Two more youths get kicked out of the organization, also kicked out of their house.
by JonathanH inso i used to work with these two younger gentlemen back when i washed windows for a local elder's company.
good kids, sons of an elder, responsible and hardworking.
i ran into him the other day briefly and he said him and his younger brother moved in together (they are about 19, and 18, maybe 20, and 18), and i was surprised.

I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but this may be an example of shunning working as a benefit; they will be left alone to figure things out without constant pleading to return. I know it made it easier for me. If my family had been begging and pleading with me to return, it would have been more difficult to make my way out. Shunning is a terrible practice, so unloving, yet I believe it backfires for the borg in that it gives time to think. I hope they never go back but make very successful lives for themselves!

Favourite Muffin Recipe??
by Broken Promises ini'm looking for a really tasty, easy to make, muffin recipe.
do you have a favourite?.
it can be any flavour - chocolate, choc-chip, apple, fruit, savoury, you name it!.

Talesin, have you tried quinoa and sorghum flour? You could use nut flours in these recipes, not sure of the ratio to potato flour. I'll keep thinking.

I've started posting recipies to a blog but have never given the info out. There are a few muffin recipes here; they're all gluten-free but you can just substitute regular flour in any of them. I hope to post more soon.

Convention without a 'Badge'
by IMHO ini attended a convention recently but didn't wear a badge i was treated with the utmost suspicion.
particularly when i arrived during the sessions one day.
the attendant didn't want me wandering off to find a seat on my own.

We had a bizarre experience at one of the last DCs we attended (about 20 years ago - how time flies!) My ex and I with three children in tow, bookbags and bibles, and dressed in our goin' to meetin' clothes, were stopped at the entrance to the Silverdome in MI. There were two or three brothers who intercepted us and were going to escort us away from the building. We saw my sister and her husband, who were living at the local assembly hall and managing it, and they vouched for us. I was so startled. We never got an explanation. I was mentally on the way out and briefly wondered if they knew my intentions! And it used to be that the Public were welcome.

Petition against MadJW
by brotherdan ini'd like to submit a motion that we no longer respond to posts posted by madjw.
he's using this forum to spam all of us into going to his wts defending website.
he also claims to be a regular pioneer and gets the majority of his time by posting on this site.

He might be mad but he's no JW. He'll count time not talking to us, can't expect logic!

It's been hotter than usual and will reach 90 degrees again today. Hot and dry - the garden needs to be watered. Very few early fall colors in the leaves.
The garden continues to produce; this is our best year for tomatoes and beans and the herbs and flowers have done well, too.
No kids in school.
I'm retiring from this job on Sept.7! Will be looking for something part time later on.

How does a person move up in the WTS?
by Libelle ini guess i should have said, "how does a man move up" since they're a male-only ruling class.... what does it take to become an elder, and so on up?
i don't really think the mr. is in the running for any special titles, but just in case in the future something along these lines happens, how does the hierarchy work?
(probably not a true consideration, being that he's married to me, but hey, i'm sure stranger things have happened).. .

the elders will keep driving round in the cars making sure the flock are busy).
I read this and saw chickens running around clucking, not sheep. But that's what they're like, right up to the beheading.
And I agree; do not let husband take the kids to the hall. Some people will be nice but there will be others that will feel free to spank them if they feel it's necessary! If he's with you on Saturdays, that's a great thing; he won't be an "example" in field circus on the weekends.
