Petition against MadJW
by brotherdan ini'd like to submit a motion that we no longer respond to posts posted by madjw.
he's using this forum to spam all of us into going to his wts defending website.
he also claims to be a regular pioneer and gets the majority of his time by posting on this site.

It's been hotter than usual and will reach 90 degrees again today. Hot and dry - the garden needs to be watered. Very few early fall colors in the leaves.
The garden continues to produce; this is our best year for tomatoes and beans and the herbs and flowers have done well, too.
No kids in school.
I'm retiring from this job on Sept.7! Will be looking for something part time later on.

How does a person move up in the WTS?
by Libelle ini guess i should have said, "how does a man move up" since they're a male-only ruling class.... what does it take to become an elder, and so on up?
i don't really think the mr. is in the running for any special titles, but just in case in the future something along these lines happens, how does the hierarchy work?
(probably not a true consideration, being that he's married to me, but hey, i'm sure stranger things have happened).. .

the elders will keep driving round in the cars making sure the flock are busy).
I read this and saw chickens running around clucking, not sheep. But that's what they're like, right up to the beheading.
And I agree; do not let husband take the kids to the hall. Some people will be nice but there will be others that will feel free to spank them if they feel it's necessary! If he's with you on Saturdays, that's a great thing; he won't be an "example" in field circus on the weekends.

How it happened....
by AK - Jeff ini was reflecting today on just how it happened.
how did i, a man who believed himself to be a clean worshiper of the most holy god, have a crisis of faith that resulted in my current state of affairs?
how did i get here, when i was not sure even which way the wind was about to blow me?.

Thanks, Jeff. I feel about the same as you though my journey has been a bit bumpier. Thanks, too, for the book recomendation; I'll request it at our library.

"...the times we are living in..."
by bez inso, just had one of our 'elders' ring to see how we are getting on and if we need any help etc.. when my hubby was honest and said we were ok and that we had decided to just move on with our lives and our family right now and concentrate on that and nothing else, but thanked him for their interest and care over last few months.... he replied by saying, ok, he would let the body of elders know this???
?, and he also reminded him to not forget "the times we are living in".... my husband told me the conversation after coming off the phone and now i feel, after being on a high the last couple of weeks (despite coming off my anti-d's cold turkey, drs orders) , i feel now actually really crap, quite scared and once again like i am making a bad decision for my kids... what is wrong with me!!!.

Bez, I had two teenagers, a 3 or 4 year old and a 7 or 8 year old; I honestly can't remember the exact year! The older two remember it well, my daughter even being a "permanent" auxillary pioneer for a while. My oldest son had the most trouble, went back a couple of times before letting go of the guilt after taking off the blinders. The one that was 7 remembers everything vividly, the youngest, not so much. When the older girl decided to leave, the witlesses wouldn't let her be. They hounded her and she became terrified, asked me to shield her from them. That didn't last long.
You might tell your little one that her friends mom is a bit confused right now, you never know if/when she might change her mind. Try to keep your emotions out of it, be calm and rational. They pick up on our feelings. You'll fill her life with other activities and she'll have new friends. If you don't let it feel traumatic, it might help. Feel free to pm me and I'll give you my email. Mine are all so grateful!

Brotherdan is right; there's nothing wrong with you. You've just been conditioned over the years to react this way. You are sane. You are acting in the best interest of your children and they will thank you just as mine have. Be strong, it's hard to break the chain of guilt they'll try to wrap you in.

My daughter moved to the Netherlands about ten years ago. She had to go to language school for a year and a half, four hours a day, to become fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Dutch. She didn't think it was wrong and was happy to learn. She couldn't get a permanent resident card or access to certain jobs until she completed this requirement. Was it a hard job to learn a new language? It did take a lot but she felt they had a perfect right to require her to learn the language.
