does anyone know which article that was?.

Cyrus: Yahweh's anointed pagan and conquering ruler
by M.J. ini wonder about the wts's strict view of all worldly governments as ultimately under satan's rulership.
in practice jws are led to take on an uncomprimising attitude of resentment and hostility toward "satanic" world governments, not mere neutrality, as they claim.
i wonder about this in light of romans 13, where world governments are said to be appointed by god, a "minister of god to you for good.

Philosophy: Satan's tool?
by M.J. ini have heard much railing from the wts about the snares of "worldly philosophies".
according to the wts, much of what is evil in the world, including the teachings of "babylon the great" is rooted in philosophy.
this appears to be one of their hotbutton "buzzwords" to promote irrational fear about anything related to philosophy.

Boy dies of Leukemia, others live
by M.J. inhere's a touching story about a boy who recently lost a battle to leukemia due to not finding a match for a bone marrow transplant.
yet, through special blood and bone marrow drives set up for him in the community, more than 25 people who attended have so far gone on to donate bone marrow, with most saving lives.
through this, nearly 4,000 people have registered into the national bone marrow registry as potential donors who could one day save lives around the world.. it is fortunate that since 1984, the watchtower society has made acceptance of bone marrow, the source of blood, a conscience matter.. http://www.dailystar.com/dailystar/dailystar/33473.php

Is the WTS a bad "parent"?
by M.J. injust a thought.
the wts, along with many groups out there, actively encourages members to take on the role of "children" while setting themselves up as the "parent" or ultimate authority figure.
like a trusting little kid, members unquestionally accept everything that is told to them as total truth.

What was the point of Jesus "examining the churches" back in the day?
by M.J. ini may have this wts doctrine all wrong, so correct me if that's the case.. .
my understanding of it is this: back in 1914 jesus returned to claim back an earthly kingdom which had since been destroyed since the state of isreal fell to babylon.
however, when he got down here jesus didn't quite immediately set up a new kingdom (or "organization", or "channel", or "theocracy", or "faithful discreet slave"), since he had to look over all the churches first to see which one was closest to being the "true" church.

What to tell the persistant JW that keeps coming to the door?
by M.J. ini have a friend who is constantly getting bugged by a jw co-worker who keeps coming to his house to preach to him.
he's usually not home but she keeps disrupting the family.
she's caught him like 2-3 times as he was already on his way out, so he's never taken the time to really talk to her much.

Why don't JWs observe Kosher laws? or Should JWs eat that juicy steak?
by M.J. inaccording to ajwrb.com, even a thorough bleeding of a slaughtered animal leaves as much as 50% of its blood in the flesh.... since jws are so emphatic about not "taking in blood" when it comes to blood transfusions, what is their reasoning for not observing kosher laws, at least with regard to the draining of the blood?
do most jws feel conflicted over eating a juicy and bloody rare steak?
is there any official prohibition against this?

Iglesia ni Cristo: Similarities to WTS?
by M.J. intheme: salvation cannot be attained by faith alone.
theme: the true believers in christ are in one organized church, the true church of christ.
