What book(s) are you reading?
by gaiagirl ini just finished a 'historical novel' titled "confessions of a pagan nun", by kate horsley.
this is a story about a woman who grew up in ireland during the late 5th and early 6th century, at the time when christianity was beginning to displace the older pagan customs.
the story tells how gwynneve is raised according to the beliefs of her ancestors, and the conflicts she experiences as she gradually comes into contact with those claiming to represent the christian faith.

I've asked the very same question on this and other forums and the only real answer I get is no one knows.
Check out http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/56025/1.ashx . For a more involved answer, check out beliefnet.com where I asked the same question and got well over 100 replies, which include photos of many of the flashy buildings the Cultower have bought.

Kid Rock
by Sentinel inthis is just my opinion, but i watched his performance last night, and cringed while he sang off key this was the first time i'd heard him perform, and about all he could do in key was scream.
guess that just isn't my thing.
i'll take the original recording artist any time.

Personally, I'd take Chris Cornell's screams over Kid's Rocks anyday.
Did any of you check out his solo album? He released it just after soundgarden split. Well worth a purchase.

Children and the Troof
by Nosferatu inin relation to the "six year old" post by countryguy, i wanted to write about children and the troof.. the jws have absolutely nothing to offer a child.
all they have is books.
young children don't like reading books in their spare time, or can barely read at all.

Being a Dubchild hindered my reading progress. I hated reading the crap they produced, but wasnt allowed to read anything else. From the age of 8, I would spend most Saturdays (after field ministry of course) reading SCIFI and horror novels in our local library. Man, that place was a sanctuary for me. Only when I felt brave, I would sneak them home. Often I was caught and given a lashing, but it was worth it.

.A question for the guys about VASECTOMIES!!!
by nicolaou inwould you recommend it?.
i've got an appointment to see my doctor in less than an hour for some pre-op discussion.
i guess they want to make sure that i am sure!.
-
yxl1
I had it done about three years ago. It really is no big deal. The pre-op chat with the doctor/nurse is very depressing, especially when they ask you questions like "What would you do if both your Children died?" Other than that, it was a painless operation.

Forgot to mention that the day after the OP, your nuts will double in size, and your knob will look even smaller than it normally does.

Banned and Censored on Princes' web-site ( NPG Music Club )
by mah319 inhello people, first a little background on myself.
i was born and raised a catholic.
one of the other members posted a subject about the watchtower being a cult.

IMHO, the NPG music club is a waste of money. Where are all the "free" CD's I should have recieved? Like you, I am a big prince fan who also finds some of his current lyrics (Rainbow children, One Nite Alone) very preachy. However, as far as the music goes, there still isnt anyone who can come close to the stuff he's now producing. I doubt you'll get a refund (I'm still waiting for NPG to deliver my copy of Crystal Ball), so just enjoy the stuff that he's currently producing.
I saw his One Nite Alone gig last year, and even though he doesnt swear or do any of his X-rated tracks, it was still the best gig I had seen that year...hands down.

Organized Dub Rave Parties...Easy sex optional!
by yxl1 inmy wife had a long drive home from north yorkshire with her younger brother (who is a dub) last night.
she was asking him questions about his social life and was very surprised at his response.
apparently, each week in london some brothers organize raves in various hired nightclubs.

Are they really on such a large scale?
Apparently they are. My Brother-in-law has attended one a week for the last few months and said that the place was packed.
Maybe the BBC's panorama program should make a "fly on the wall" documentory. You can almost picture a bunch of sisters in floral ankle lengh polyester frocks, static crackling, dancing around plastic book bags, checking their watches to make sure they're home at a reasonable hour. While the socially inept brothers prop up the walls watching for potential wives and getting high doing lines of pepsi.

My wife had a long drive home from North Yorkshire with her younger brother (who is a dub) last night. She was asking him questions about his social life and was very surprised at his response. Apparently, each week in London some brothers organize “raves” in various hired nightclubs. Usual attendance is between 300 – 400 and what they sometimes get up to, could be considered worse than a “worldly” club. The fee’s to get into the club are a little higher than normal, but almost everyone in attendance is a single witness. Sex in toilets, in the car park, in cars and even people getting a little too tactile on the dance floor is apparently quite common. Drugs are used and alcohol flows freely. No Kingdom melodies are played, only the type of music that the Watchtower forbids. The Elders are not aware of these raves, even though my Brother in law has attended one every weekend for the last few months, (and his father is an Elder) and usually doesn’t get home before 5am ON A SUNDAY MORNING! (This annoyed my wife who wasn't even be allowed to the cinema on a Saturday night if the film finished later than 9pm)
Back in my day (10 years ago) you were not even allowed to visit a band playing in a pub. If you did, you’d almost always get spied on, and the usual phone calls/visits from Elders would follow. Even parties at home were frowned upon, no alcohol was ever allowed, the music was always some crap like Phil Collins and there was always a MS or a “young” Elder present to make sure no one held hands or made eye contact for too long.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is this just a London phenomenon? And why the hell wasn’t there stuff like this when I was a dub?!
I can’t imagine this will continue for too long before someone gets wind of it. Lets hope that when they do, there will be a mass exodus of young people who, in all honesty, are only doing what normal young people do.
