@Humbled: Hahaha, will write an addition tomorrow! Have to go to sleep first. Goodnight Oh and unfortunately I don't draw... but a children's book... hmmm, sounds like something I would like to write! Hubby has asked for a short story for his website as well, so I've written one for him tonight and he was delighted. Maybe I've discovered another talent...

Black she was, and soooo small. She was her mama's pride and joy. She was cute, she adored her siblings, nothing better than lying cosey beside them under their mother's wings or under the warm lamp. And food! Oh yeah, everytime the hand of a human came into the box with a new supply of food they all cheered and danced and pushed each other around to get to the food as soon as possible. Mother looked at her babies and even though it was hard for her to express her feelings, other than a soft 'buk buk'-sound, she felt so proud of her offspring. It is that chickens can't cry out of sheer happiness, but if she could she definitely would. Especially when she saw that little black baby... and... did she see that correctly? Was there...?? Oh well, my oh my... good heavens, that little black chick has a little froth of a tail just emerging!
Mama Chicken tried to sigh because of the feelings that overwhelmed her, but the only sound she made was another satisfied 'buk buk'...
(Sorry Prof. CoCo, I've spoiled this one with mentioning 'happiness' and 'satisfied'... too bad, the story emerged and I found it too cute to delete )

Your story is so beautifully written Maeve! I had to look up some words with Google translate, but your style reminds me in a way of Paolo Coelho... the way you describe things, I admire that!

Aaaah thanks... I'll try to write another one... different feel... let me see...
He knew he hit bulls eye with her! Yesss, he did it! He got even! Watching her, sitting there, back against the wall, curled up with her arms around her knees, head down, crying her eyes out... he just knew he gave her what she deserved, she had it coming BIG time! He didn't even have to hit her like the last time. Words were his weapons this time and that was enough. Now she knows how he feels after all she's done to him. He will never let her come as close to him as she was before, she blew it... What made her think that she could talk and flirt around with that other guy anyway? -

Yours was good too Rip! Really, I feel her emotion... the feeling of having lost and finally found again. Good job, really! Keep them coming!

You're welcome CoCo, was my pleasure. It was a memory... except for the tears in the end, they were real time in only my two eyes when I wrote it.

The young woman took the older woman's hand in hers and gently started to stroke it, all the while singing to her, with a soft voice not to disturb the old woman in her afternoon nap. Feelings overflowed the young woman... she couldn't bare the thought that this old lady would soon no longer be a part of her everyday life, no more small talk, no more stories about times long gone, no more laughter like they were two high school broads... No she couldn't bare even imagining the loss she was about to suffer... She was glad she had been able to enlighten the last years of the old lady with laughter and just her presence. The memories made in these past few years would soon be all there's left...
The old woman opened her eyes and she smiled when she felt the young woman was still holding her hand... eyes met, smiles on both faces... and four eyes started to fill with water...

LOL, when I put it on my husband asked totally disturbed "Jeeeez, what kind of crap is this???" He only heard the music...
I couldn't see it, I was actually eating a sandwich while watching and all of a sudden I felt sick... So I've put it off. How on earth could I have ever watched video's like this with a sense of pride and admiration????
