  Coronavirus Positive

  hey all,.

  i'm day six of isolation, confirmed to have coronavirus.

  i have been seeing very sick cv positive patients over the last month in my a&e role (emergency physician) it was inevitable i would contract it.. just wanted to give some symptom and treatment advice, it's anecdotal but may help.. started as sore throat and headache, then croaky voice, then dry cough, then episodic transient fevers, all this over the first few days.

  not only do they want everyone dressed up for the zoom meetings( which i won't do) they decided to keep the zoom meeting at 1pm sunday!

  so they don't upset their spiritual routine!

  It's not about spiritually; it's about control and keeping JWs on the never ending wheel of mindless busy work so they won't have time to question or think for themselves.

  I realize now that I would I have been far more spiritual if I had not been a JW. I spent 35 years toiling as a JW with no time for real spirituality.

  Sister Not Sure If She Is 144 000 or Great Crowd

  i haven’t posted here for years as i have now moved on and am satisfied with the choice i have made to leave watchtower.

  however in light of the coronavirus and people in australia and other countries being asked to stay at home i became concerned for a witness sister who lives in melbourne alone who is 88 years old.

  today i gave her a call as i don’t trust the local witnesses to care for her.

  I would tell her not to worry over it. If the JW God is who he says he is, then he knows her feelings and will handle her situation in the best way. She's guaranteed happiness [according to JW belief (I wish I could believe that)], so she will fit in and feel at home wherever she ends up - earth or heaven.

  lancelink, i remember that, too. It was sometime before 1986, and it was about the fact that the UN was declaring 1986 to be The International Year of Peace. When the announcement was made at the end of the district convention where I was in Tennessee, you could hear a pin drop. JWs made a big deal about it. And then it came and went and nothing happened.

  Just watched the video. Sickening. Cult. They're so worried about the rank and file learning the real truth.

  They act like they're so concerned about "the flock". 'Oh, somebody might steal your info if you use one of these unauthorized apps.' Hell, they stole my whole life - cost me literally millions in missed wages and missed retirement opportunities and other missed opportunities.

  just saw this , sent to me in an email.just another way of trying to encourage me to come back coz this is it!

  they are doing all they can to still reach out to people despite the lockdown!

  i am appalled but at the same time ,i can very well remember when i used to be doing the same thing when pimi thinking i am really helping people , giving them a positive hope , something to look forward to n all.. amazing how thoughts and mind sets once opened changes so drastically!.

  People criticize the rank of The WatchTower and Awake!

  people are not willing to accept the popularity of the watchtower and awake as these magazines belong to jw.

  in comment section of this link people are abusing again jehovah's witnesses.

  That rank is meaningless. I saw evidence of that for decades. Most JWs didn't read (or read all) of the mags. Of the ones that were actually placed in the field, most were not read or given a second thought. Stacks and stacks ended up lying around unplaced/unread at JWs' houses. Stacks were left at laundromats, hospitals, etc. and probably thrown away.

  I, myself, as a believing, zealous, regular pioneer, had hundreds at my house that were never placed. Same with my zealous pioneer JW grandfather. Same with my other JW relatives. Same with my JW friends. Same with mags at the Kingdom Hall.

  we all know that things are all going to be way different when we get through this milestone.. like hurricane katrina, people survived this but new orleans even 16 years later is way different.

  our economy is like a shark that must keep moving through the water.

  stop it and it will die.. the witnesses like many people in the world, have little to no savings.

  "They are us" - 1234 (New Boy), I agree with you most of the time, but I respectfully disagree about this. I'm with Jimmy Young; I have no sympathy. JWdom is far different today from what it was when a lot of us were in.

  The evidence that JWdom is wrong and not what it claims to be is obvious and readily available today. It was not a few years ago. JWdom used to be bolder and more dignified and deeper and more scholarly. It is weak and embarrassing today. The GB used to be more in the background. Now, the Great Leaders are public buffoons. A lot of JWs in the past were smart, strong, stable people. I believe most of them left. To me, those who are JWs today for the most part deserve what they get.

  I have tried reasoning with them, and have been called "weak", "bitter", "mean", "mixed up", etc. They want to go out and tell everybody else how wrong they are, but they won't consider evidence against themselves.

  I do not consider them to be like I was/am at all. JWs today are not honest and hungry for truth.
