  Abba... I wish I had started the thread with more grace, like you. And I agree 100% with ur first post.

  And to the "troll" name callers and contradiction spotters.... its called admitting when ur wrong. And I did this when I started out this thread with less than pleasant words.

  The fact of the matter is, this thread has proven my original reason for posting this topic. There are those who may not be as aggresive in the God/Christian bashing. But unfortunatly u are drowned out by the more vocal and less helpful of ur peers. Name calling, pointless critique, and belittling any believer in God that has dared post on this topic.

  Moral of the story=

  1) every smart person is an atheist.(if not ur dumb)

  2) if ur not one then it means u are at a lower level in ur journey (dont worry tho ull get there eventually)

  3) Gods a fairy tale cuz bad things happen.

  4) if u dont debate me then ur living a lie and have no basis for ur belief.

  I apologize if it sounds like im dismissing anyone. Obviously emotion and intent do not translate well over this medium (at least not for me as u can tell from my grammer, punctuation, and spelling).

  I have these discussions and debates in real life not online. I have access to many different people with many different viewpoints. And all these people are very educated in their respected fields (many are atheists). So this is not a new topic of discussion for me. I just choose not to bog down my time debating this topic on an ex-jw site with internet scholars. I am bogged down with research, study, work, and life. Which is why "testing my intellect" here seems a little pointless.

  This is not saying that this site isnt helpful for people still struggling with the jw's. Obviously it helps a lot of people. But I am not there anymore. So I would rather get my religious advice from another source.

  Im sorry that upsets some of you so much. But I would be useless in a back n forth typing war with obvious seasoned vets. Thats why I stand by my previous statements and bow out of all the "gods a fairy tale" arguments.

  You can believe who and what u want.

  Cofty....

  If that were the case then I would not be able to honestly say that I am a "firm believer". There is no way in the world I would be able to believe something if it didnt stand up to every sort of challange. Example: the watchtower org.

  Unlike a majority of christians u may run into, I study in depth the paranormal, history, science, all religions, athiesm, new age, agnostisism, paganism, occult, sacred geometry, gov, etc... And have come out an even stronger believer in a creator. I never write things or people off as untrue or fairly tale just because it doesnt fit into my "box". There is truth in each camp. But there are also a lot of deception.

  I just realize that im over trying to "win" arguments with people who are just trying to re-a firm their own stance. I'd rather spend my time somewhere where I can actually learn.

  Atheism just doesnt have much to offer me in the relm of education. There is just too much evidence to the contrary. And if a premise is flawed from the get go, then how can it provide anything to build on?

  Ya to be completly honest. After reading through itll the responses, I have no desire to debate (discuss, answer questions, dialogue, etc) on this topic. I realize that the gap between the paradigms is very vast. So it is a "circular" argument. Both parties have different sources and authorities that they trust and distrust. But I guess we all find out when we die.

  I apologize for my negative and hypocritical comments.

  This site is just not for me. You guys can have It.

  I have already healed from my 25yrs as a jw and I am more concerned with growing as a christian rather than debating in pointless arguments.

  Thanks for the responses everyone. And I hope your journey takes u where u want to be.

  As far as the HONEST, OPEN MINDED discussion. Yes I am sincere about that. But I dont want it to break down into a name calling sandbox fight. Because I respect that this is your world view. And dont want to tamper with it (a.k.a. trying to convert each other). But if its about getting real answers then im game.

  U guys are right... I should have respected the queens english a little more. My apologies for how incoherent it is :/

  And I personally believe that the only way to get the truth is to get all sides of the story. So i have and currently am honestly researching all points of view. I also believe in respecting peoples beliefs and letting them find their own way.

  But I cant stand when people attack other people and belittle them for what they believe (christian, atheist, new ager, etc). Unfortunatly, that is what happens topic after topic on this site. And in this situation its people with the athiest point of view that are doing what "christians" are normally accused of doing. Just f.y.i. I would be upset if christians where doing the same to athiests on this site.

  I came here looking for both point of views from ex-jw's cuz there are valid points in both camps. But as soon as "God" comes into the thread, His validity is immidiatly the focal point of the topic. Or, the poster who brought him up is either ignored or berated.

  This site is not a healthy forum for discussion or healing. Its an arena for jaded athiests to bash anything Christian or God related. Yes, I know the JW's lied to us about God and the truth. But there are logical answers to ur questions and "problems" with God and the bible.

  By being so closed minded and parading ur ignorance about the bibles historical accuracy and the existance of Jesus. You are just falling into another bigger lie that plays on ur ego and need to be "smarter than everyone else". If you want to be decieved and not be acountable to a creator... then fine. That is up to you, its ur life. But lay off of the people that believe in God and stop trying to "convert" everyone that brings up God. They are in a vulnerable place and have their own choices to make. So let them. Dont jump in in every post spouting ur athiest gospel. You are not helping anyone. And u sound like bitter ex-girlfriends who had a bad break up with God.

  Rant done.

  P.s. I couldnt care less about spelling or punctuation.
