Cofty,
When I speak about Bible, you equate it with some other organization that is, in no way connectected with the Bible or JWs.
Let me make it clear:
Our subject is EXTREMISM and BLINDNESS of JWs--nothing else.
You will be convinced of this as the time passes by.

What you said about COs is correct. But this CO is now disillusioned, and is planning to come off the list next year. It seems you did not read what he sent to me:
Saturday and Sunday he was busy with Assembly, hence could read your replies only last night. This is what he says:
“I am happy that some of them (ignat, rocketman, island Man, and humbled) could read not only in between the lines but also my heart perfectly!
I will serve one more year as CO, then I will take voluntary retirement. From this week onward through 2014, I want to start a series in jw.net titled: MY EXPERIMENTS WITH “TRUTH,” a CO opens his heart.
It may help at least a few not to waste their lives, like me.”
He won't post directly, but through me!

Cofty,
“All of them were coming from the same ISP.”
Thank you for this clue. I was wondering what this BK and Rose Mary are.
Now when you said: “All of them were coming from the same ISP,” now understand what may have happened. I was transferred to my Head-Office last month. And nature of my work also somewhat changed. To avoid virus problem, I put a requisition for a second computer exclusively for net-related work. Office gave me an old computer. I am posting from this computer as I have somewhat relaxed schedule. I don’t know who was using this computer before me in this company of over 3000 people!
If you had told me of this earlier, we could have averted much wastages.
Thank you cofty!

Cofty,
I do not know who you are and what you are saying. But I feel like praising you for always saying negative, thus you make what appear in my post STAND OUT.
Day has no meaning without NIGHT.

"William Claire Menninger, a co-founder of The Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Kansas, wrote 13 symptoms of mental illness. One of them is: “The attitude that I am always right and others always wrong.” This was the first jolt I received: What characterizes an individual’s mental deficiency perfectly characterizes the organization collectively. Since then I began to watch the Watch Tower IMPARTIALLY and OBJECTIVELY! It is nothing but extremism born of blindness!
Every teaching has its plus and minus; hence no point in declaring some teachings as false. I was reared as a pious catholic who was so delighted to serve as an altar boy. I still remember the catechism teacher telling me: Trinity is not a mystery. It is very simple—Father, Son and the Holy Spirit symbolize three major roles God performs (Creator, Destroyer, and Preserver). Always remember these three roles and act out them in your personal lives—DESTROY your vices, CREATE virtues in place of them and PRESERVE them. I used to wonder—what a nice and beneficial teaching.
When my family became JWs, I had to abandon this cherished teaching along with many others, despite the clear teaching of Jesus himself, who gave his parting commandment “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Mathew 28:19). No amount of interpretations can cast a shadow on this proof Jesus himself provided so authoritatively.
Church Fathers chose from an ocean of scrolls 66 scrolls as Bible canon; and same Church Fathers chose from an ocean of teachings trinity also. WT has no problem in accepting their canon and rejecting trinity teaching? Is this not arbitrariness? Especially when something is beneficial, why should it be categorized as false?
It all amounts to convenience. It is like how people respond to the proposal to widen the road. Road-users will welcome it as good news. Road-side residents will say it is bad news!"
though he is a typical wt slave, we are like david and jonathan.. in my most intimate conversation with him, i asked him:.
how do you manage serving an organization built on inherent contradictions?.
he said: organization helps people to grow spiritual, like any other religious organizations do.

That is why he said: "Be discreet about it!"
That tells everything!
It means: "Who is going to know what you believe DEEP in your heart?" (His view is that we cannot change the organization, hence change your perspective)
For a circuit overseer to come this far--not an ordinary thing.
Yet it tells at least some JWs--including some COs--are visiting jw.net

Though he is a typical WT slave, we are like David and Jonathan.
In my most intimate conversation with him, I asked him:
“How do you manage serving an organization built on inherent contradictions?”
He said: “Organization helps people to grow spiritual, like any other religious organizations do. Its teachings are like scaffolding for a new building. Let the scaffolding be of any make—metal, wooden, mixed or sub-standard! It does serve a purpose despite its contradictions.”
What do you mean by teachings like scaffolding?
“It is the building (not scaffolding) you are interested in and finally going to use! Let them have professed teachings; but you can go by your conviction and be discreet about it.”
For example:
1) Let them profess ban on blood-transfusion; yet in practice, you can do what you like. (Because Bible says blood of a perfect man was used for saving man eternally; hence blood of any imperfect human could be used for saving life for a time—there is no violation in principle).
2) Let them teach worldly rulers are servants of Satan; yet you know Bible calls them “servants of God.” (Romans 13:1-6). Hence you can decide what to do with your obligations to your country. If you partake in country’s election, you are only supporting “God’s arrangement” or His way of ensuring law and order on earth!
The teaching that worldly rulers are servants of Satan has its roots in a misunderstanding of a Genesis account. We say Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden tree and this constituted an attack on God’s sovereignty which, in turn, paved the way for human rulers; hence they are said to be the servants of Satan. But we know that “nakedness, pregnancy and motherhood” are the effects of sexual act (not of eating of a literal tree). (Genesis 3:10, 16, 20) Even after millenniums, the Hebrews were using the word “KNOW” as a synonym for “SEXUAL INTERCOURSE.” (Mathew 1:25)
“Be fruitful and increase in number” is a commandment given not only to humans, BUT ALSO TO OTHER SPECIES. (Genesis 1:20-22, 28) All living things reproduce. There are two types of reproduction: asexual and sexual. Numerous varieties of asexual reproduction exist in the cases of bacteria, sea sponges, plants, and animals. School Text books teach that evolutionary ASEXUAL reproduction came before sexual reproduction. And it continued for a period: “And that is what happened.” (Genesis 1:30).
Then he concluded: “There may be many teachings against your conviction. They are all like scaffolding!”
How do I know which one is like scaffolding?
This is where he said:
Post your doubts in jw.net, and take average of both what they say and what JWs say—you get the truth!
so bring it on, and lay the evidence on me, kate (but perhaps you should start a new thread).-adam.
it does not prove god exists, there is no substantial evidence god is real.
if one is a self labeled atheist, one has no desire to see gods fingerprints in organic chemistry.
It all boils down to appreciation of the gifts we have received from the Great Gift Giver. One can use it for or against God, and God is least bothered, He continues to sustain both the groups. (Mathew 5:44-48) You cannot make someone love you, appreciate you. It should come from within, self-motivated.
This reminds me of a great singer of all times—K J Jesudas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K._J._Yesudas
He has sung more than 50,000 songs for movies in different languages. He left Catholic Church when they objected him singing devotional songs of other religions, but he did not leave Jesus Christ--he is a close follower of Jesus Christ in practice. In one TV interview, he said: “I have never looked at a woman lustfully in all my life.” (Mathew 5:28)
But most important part of his life is that wherever he goes, to whoever he speaks no matter which function he attends—He starts with the words: “Praise be to Our Supreme God who sustains all of us!”
Abject poverty was his birth-right, but he converted it into the present glory—yet he gives glory to God!
