Galaxie,
When I reply to those who believe in God, I use appropriate terms to suit their tastes.
To DJS, I made an exception as he is not a believer in God, hence used scientific terms!

DJS,
If you do not like the word GOD, you can try a different method to understand my post:
We find different types of personalities among humans such as GOOD (identified by purity, transparency, stability and calmness of mind), PASSIONATE (dynamic, excited and action-oriented), LAZY (suffering from illusion, drowsy and ignorant).
In science, materials qualities can also be identified, likewise, by these natures. (1) Those that stands for purity, equilibrium or stress-free state, lustre, luminosity, order and stability of matter. (2) Motion, energy and excitations. (3) inertia, disorder, chaos, darkness and instability.
Currently, multiferroics is an active branch of research in physics and materials science. It deals with three kinds of properties, namely, ferromagnetism, ferroelectrics and ferroelasticity. The prefix ferro in each case represents order. Thus, these three types exhibit spontaneous order, respectively, in magnetism, electrical polarisation and mechanical strain. While different materials exhibit different kinds of order, there is a fervent search to look for all or more than one order in the same material. In the human world, it is equivalent to finding a multifaceted personality, having multiple traits in an indiviudal. Some humans may manifest divine and demonic qualities in varying degrees. Divinity in a man results in fearlessness, mental clarity, commitment to knowledge, tendency for sacrifice and meditation, simplicity, non-violence, truthfulness, free from anger, and is of peaceful mind, tolerant, kind, charitable and free from greed. He is also illumined, forgiving, soft, and pure. Even one of these traits is enough to establish order. More than one can enhance the order by several orders of magnitude. The process is reversible. On the other hand, the demoniac nature leads one to arrogance, pride, intolerance, anger, cruelty and ignorance…. All their activities are aimed at the destruction of righteousness and order.
Whether in mythology or history, there is always conflict between the two natures. Unrighteous people are intolerant of good people. They create discord and chaos in society. The conflicts end invariably and rightly with the victory of divinity over the demoniac. It happens because, when chaos resulting from demoniac activities reaches a critical point, a mechanism emerges from within the system, which restores order. In science it is termed as SELF-ORGANISED CRITICALITY.

DJS,
You call it "nonsensical."
World in general is submerged in non-sense [see how the world goes on a spree of increasing population when they know that resources are fast depleting--is it not like spending recklessly when income is decreasing?]. Hence no wonder you see no sense in my post.
If you transform mud into food, we call this AGRICULTURE.
If you make food into flesh and bone, we call this digestion, INTEGRATION.
If you make flesh into mud, we call this CREMATION.
Now repeat: if you transform mud into food, we call this AGRICULTURE, and if you design the very progamme of transforming mud into food, what will you call it? Chance, evolution, proof that a designer does not exist ….
Today, science is telling us that everything is the same energy manifesting itself in a million different ways. If that is so, what you call the Divine, what you call a stone, what you call a man or a woman .... are all the same energy functioning in different ways (like the same electricity becomes light, sound and so many other things, depending upon the technology). How can we say that energy can exist only in the forms we can know with our senses or scientific tools, and energy cannot exist in the form beyond our scientific equipment can not reach?

Galaxie,
I was highlighting a principle (which the King obviously was too late to acknowledge). King represents the scientists of today. Though late, good sense prevailed over king, but will the same happen with our scientists?

Forget about Abiather. Think of the issue he raises!
The desire for power has created many things in the world. Science has come as a desire for power, and it has created power. But indiscriminate use of power is destroying humanity. So much so that Albert Einstein felt that he had done a crime against humanity. In the last days of his life, somebody asked Einstein, If you were born again, what would you like to become He said: “Never a physicist again, never a scientist. Rather, i would like to become a plumber.”
The very framework of science is to gain dominion over nature. That is the very terminology of science: "conquest of nature." We have to overpower nature and we have to destroy all mysteries of nature, and we have to find all the keys of power. But the very idea takes you away from nature, makes you antagonistic to it and becomes destructive. The ecology of the earth has been destroyed by this powerseeking. In the outside, in the inside both the natural rhythm of life is disturbed.
Remember Frederick of Prussia. A very unusual idea occurred
one day to him. He was in the country when he saw sparrows
eating some grains of wheat. He started to think and reached the conclusion
that these small birds consumed a million pecks of wheat a year in his kingdom.
This cannot be allowed. They have to be either conquered or destroyed.
Since it was difficult to exterminate them, he
promised a price for each dead sparrow. All Prussians became hunters and soon
there were no more sparrows in the country. What a great victory.
Frederick was happy. He celebrated the event as
a great conquest over nature. But the gloating ceased when in the following
year he was told that caterpillars and locusts had eaten the crops because
without sparrows the whole rhythm of life was destroyed. Sparrows go on eating
caterpillars and locusts. There being no sparrows, the whole crop was destroyed
by caterpillars. Then it was necessary to bring in sparrows from abroad. And
the king said, I certainly have made a
mistake. God k nows what he is doing.
The great scientific minds
of this century are coming, slowly, reluctantly, to recognise that a great
mistake has been done.
The very desire to be powerful is against nature.
Why do you need to be powerful You must
be thinking in terms of destroying somebody. Power is needed to destroy. Power
is needed to dominate. Power is needed to conquer. Science tries to penetrate
nature to get more power, and there are many systems which penetrate your
innermost being but again the goal is to get more power.
The need of the hour is search of God, becoming spiritual. The spiritual person is one who wants to be in such deep harmony that there is no question of conflict. He is seeking love. He is seeking a love affair with the universe. He never asks about power. He asks how to lose separation, how to merge. He asks, How to be in such a total surrender that i dont move in any way against the whole or separate from the whole, so that i can move with the river of life. And wherever the river of life goes, i can go with it.
This will bring in paradise on earth, without the hep of God!
Even now it is not too late. Every journey begins with first step.
it has been the history of mankind that they proceed from the crude to the subtle in all spheres of life: they seek the subtle amidst the crude, and in the subtle, they seek the subtlest.
when hunger is extinguished, humans looked for art.
ancient humans appreciated the harmony of music; they also liked to dance in joy.
You say about lack of evidence. On the contrary, it is abundance of evidence. Forget about the uniqueness of faces of all humans (which is of course the proof for skill of the designer)! Take the case of consciousness each human being manifests. Consciousness can never be studied by a reductionist approach. The ability to reduce everything to simple fundamental laws, does not imply the ability to start from those laws and reconstruct the universe. Consciousness is more than an emergent phenomenon wherein, the whole is not merely more, but very different from the sum of its parts. Cognition presupposes duality, that is, a subject becoming conscious of an object or its own self. Self-awareness, we would presume, mandates a form, a discrete entity. However, consciousness as a state of awareness, an am-ness can exist in the absence of any form, or attribute. If our consciousness is real, its source (God) is even more real!
When you begin to see the SOURCE behind all the resources, we will have solved all problems!
No one has succeeded in
proving that God does not exist.
Whether the owl accepts the presence of light or not, there is always light.
Likewise, whether you accept the existence of God or not, He always
exists.
it has been the history of mankind that they proceed from the crude to the subtle in all spheres of life: they seek the subtle amidst the crude, and in the subtle, they seek the subtlest.
when hunger is extinguished, humans looked for art.

DJS,
You are free not to believe in God (as wrongly presented by religions). However a time will come you will see God acting to benefit the whole world: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKPwBliYJAE

End of the world—How and When—explained scientifically!
Problem with humans is that they don’t learn from mistakes. Their greed has already spoiled air and water, and brought global warming which would ultimately sink most of the inhabited earth!
Now to make it worse (perhaps worst) they are now determined to use the weather as a weapon to subjugate the globe!
When humans precipitate the end of the world, see How God of the universe is going to RESPOND!

Their urge to seek the subtle amidst the crude was so great that, in the process, they evolved many kinds of rhythmic dance and rhythms. So was the case with music—from simple melodies they moved to the ocean of classics.
Through this continuous progress from the crude to the subtle, and from the subtle to the subtlest aspects of life, we look for eternal beauty. Those who attain such a state will no longer taste the beauty of anything: music and dance will no longer remain an object of experience for them –- because they will have attained a state so intoxicated with joy that they lose their limited identity, and their ability to experience anything.
Unfortunately, religious leaders stifled this innate desire of man to seek the Eternal through their thoughtless, childish stories and illustrations which unwittingly created distaste in thinking humans towards God. One of the religious leaders was even ready to admit this publicly: “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, “‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.” (Luke 8:9, 10) Such stories required many interpreters with many other illustrations to understand the original illustrations which ultimately results in warring sects numbering into thousands.
No wonder Einstein said that "the word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. …For me, the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions." (http://www.nbcnews.com/id/24598856/ns/us_news-faith/t/einstein-letter-calls-bible-pretty-childish/#.VOQVJOaUcqM) "I'm not an atheist, and I don't think I can call my self a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That , it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God. We see the universe marvelously arranged and obeying certain laws but only dimly understand these laws. Our limited minds grasp the mysterious force that moves the constellations." (http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/nave-html/faithpathh/einstein.html)
This shows poor presentation of God by the religious leaders lies at the root of many losing their belief in God! REASON demands belief in God, the subtlest point, the center / The Substratum. Man is unable to grasp stories or histories that do not follow the principle of Cause and Effect. REASON demands that everything requires a cause!
No wonder that we have too many great people who rejected religions but accepted the belief in God—to mention a few: Albert Einstein, Alfred M. Mayer, Antony Flew, Alexander Pope, Adam Smith, Ahmad Kasravi, Benjamin Franklin, Brett Gurewitz, Carl Friedrich Gauss, Charles Lyell, Charles Sanders Peirce, Colin Maclaurin, Dmitri Mendeleev, Ethan Allen, Edward Herbert, 1st Baron Herbert of Cherbury, Elihu Palmer, Émilie du Châtelet, Ernest Rutherford, Frederick the Great, Friedrich Schiller, Gottfried Leibniz, Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, George Washington, Harish-Chandra, Harmony Korine, Henrik Wergeland, Hermann Weyl, Humphry Davy James Heckman, James Hutton, James Madison, James Watt, Jean Baptiste Lamarck, Jean le Rond D’Alembert, John Muir, John Toland, John Locke, José Rizal, Jules Verne, Ludwig Boltzmann, Luis Walter Alvarez, Lysander Spooner, Mark Twain, Martin Gardner, Matthew Tindal, Max Born, Max Planck, Maximilien Robespierre, Mikhail Lomonosov, Moses Mendelssohn, Napoleon Bonaparte, Neil Armstrong, Nick Cave, Paul Davies, Robert Hooke, Simon Newcomb, Thomas Alva Edison, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Victor Hugo, Voltaire, Walter Kohn, Wernher von Braun, William Lloyd Garrison, William Hogarth, Wolfgang Pauli ……….
i've been thinking and here's what i've come up with.
correct me if i'm wrong, but in the bible does it not state that the word would have to be preached throughout the entire inhabited earth for a witness to all people and then the end would come?.
with the world being as vast as it is today, it would be practically impossible for the witnesses to speak to everyone in the world.
