Question for apostates!

i have a question.. the conventional wisdom seems to be that to 'convert' a jehovah's witness (or get them to see ttatt) you have to ask questions that they cannot answer and engage with their true personality not their 'cult personality'.. intellectual arguments tend to fall flat because jws (who do not already have personal doubts) believe they already know the absolute truth so anything contrary to that truth is nessecarily wrong.

any criticism of their beliefs will be seen as an attack or persecution and will be dismissed as flawed 'human thinking' or 'apostate lies'.. to 'true believers' any amount of contrary evidence and illogical inconsistencies in their beliefs can be dismissed or explained away.

their starting point is that they have special knowledge of absolute truth and all evidence and arguments are then weighed against this preconceived belief.. here is my question.

I have had success in getting many JWs out by asking only one question:

Why did the faithful and discreet slave class APPOINTED BY GOD to dispense food at the proper time abandon/change certain vital teachings? Who gave that teachings to them which were obviously lies? If there were proved lies LATER, God would not have given them? Appointment of God to give food at the proper time means ALWAYS SAYING THE TRUTH THAT IS ALWAYS CONSTANT.

God's teaching will be more unumbiguous than trafic signals. RED Signal means STOP; Green means START! No interpretation is necessary!

"albert" was 55 years old, and the fifth-born of seven children.

i am the second oldest and babysat him often while he was growing up --- and while i was still at home.. yesterday, albert was out taking his usual morning stroll around his small town, when he collapsed on the sidewalk.

the doctors said it was a heart attack.

At the same time, be at peace that he has escaped from this world of meaninglessness, selfishness and thanklessness!

ok i know some of you are going to mock me but i don't give a shit and you'd better get dafaq outta this thread if you don't beleive in this stuff.. .

so,you ever seen somethin strange?shadow people?felt cold spots?touched by something you can't see?beaten by an unseen force?heard voices/whispers/growls/screams etc?are you sure about it or was it just your imagination?you ever been into the occult?c'mon share your experiences and stories!personally i've never had an encounter with the other side..

My experience is, in a way, was supernatural. When I was a very zealous JW, I used to wonder what if this JW system fails, if this is really correct?

I wanted to try meditation in the early morning hours. I began to get some insight into some of the teachings of JWs. The first one I wanted to check the validity was of the ransom teaching? Why does it elude my understanding or defy all the known logic? I assumed as though I was speaking to God!

I heard someone asking me a question: “If you put your faith in a teaching that says the innocent was killed to save the sinners, what do you think will happen to you—will your sins be removed or be increased?” I said: My sin will only be increased. You answered correctly, the voice said. So what am to do? The voice directed me to read James 2:9-10. I immediately read it: “ For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at JUST ONE point is guilty of breaking ALL OF IT. For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,”also said, “You shall not murder.”

What did you understand? Even if I am 99% saintly, that remaining 1% will cost my life, I said.

“You are right; Now you do as you please!” the voice said.

I told about this to my wife. She closed her ears with her hands and ran away from me.

But I did not stop my meditation!

For JWS: Do you believe Jesus or only what you are told about Jesus?

that's the question l would like to ask every jehovah's witness: do you believe jesus or do you only believe what you are told about jesus?

(by the watchtower?).

if you only believe what the watchtower or the governing body tell you about jesus with their selected quotes from the bible.then in fact you don't believe jesus.

If JWs were believing in what Jesus said, they would not have floated an organization with their very basic theme—Jesus’s presence began in the year in 1914—something which Jesus had already warned against: “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.” (Mathew 24:26)

This verse shows that God has not authorized anyone to announce the “parousia” of Jesus, and people are not authorized to believe such self-styled parousia-announcers!

Your evaluation of the State of Kerala can cast doubt on all your evaluations. I am 52, born and brought up, and working in Kerala. Caste system was here very much till India got independence FROM BRITISH "CHRISHTIANS" in 1947. I have never seen in my life caste system in my State Kerala. On the contrary, MANY may feel envy the stimulus packages being given to the people who were once belonging to the lower caste so that they never sink into the lower caste again.

And another fact is that Kerala is predominantly a Hindu State, Chirsitians are microscopic minority here!

And see, what a Christian Chief minister is accomplishing--something which the Most Powerful "Christian" Empires could not accomplish for last 2000 thousand years!

You know such contradictions are what gave rise to over 41000 Christian denominations. Such scary statements will not come from Jesus who said: “I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Mathew 11:28-30) Such statements come from humans who are bankrupt of ideas, hence resorted to the easy way of instilling fear in humans, as JW GB does!

Jesus’s original style is “Whoever has ears, let them hear.” (Mathew 11:15) In other words, whoever is not willing to listen, there is NO COMPULSION to listen to him. Let then do what they like and reap the consequences. (Mathew 23:12; Mark 4:24) This he learned from his heavenly Father. (Mathew 5:44-48)

When there is a cancerous growth in one’s body, he may prefer to remove that particular portion, rather than abandoning his whole body. Similarly, don’t discard the Bible just because of some contradictions you find; there are very precious things in it—hence take only what is reasonable and beneficial from the Bible. (1Thess 5:21) When Jesus said what is in Mathew 23:9, he was pointing to an eternal truth which everyone unconsciously subscribes to. Statement also implies humans (unlike JWs feel) can bring God’s Kingdom on earth by their effort, if they choose to do so. If something is not intended to be practiced, why should he make such statements?!

If one CHRISTIAN ruler (in a great Hindu-dominated country) can do it in his State means other powerful Christian rulers surrounded by Christian rulers can easily do it! (Americas, Europe and former USSR and Australia … bulk of the globe is occupied by Christians!) What is the difficulty for followers of Christ to follow Christ?

Instead of remembering a failed ism which wasted its resources on Defence and ignored much of the above mentioned things, call it TRUE CHRISTIANITY in action!

"In His (God's) will is our peace," Dante declared. God's will is that all should live as one family. Instead we opted Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD). Did we have peace? No.

When we are ready to accept some inconveniences for the sake of the disprivileged, there will be real peace on earth.
