Matter and energy are not the subject of my article.
What I wanted to convey was: both Atheism and theism have equally failed in motivating humans to do good, hence contributed equally to the sorry state of affairs of the world!
When an example of particle is made, there is no need to make an issue of it. We all know that the universe is made of subatomic particles and the intervening space. Subatomic particles carry mass, charge and energy. M-Theory, which could be regarded as the ultimate theory of modern physics, states that all subatomic particles are made of one-dimensional strings. All characteristics of subatomic particles mass, charge and energy arise from the way these strings oscillate. If they oscillate in one particular way, we perceive electrons. If they oscillate in a different way, we perceive protons, and so on. Therefore, we can define the whole universe as countless vibrating strings. However, these strings strictly require multidimensional space (10 spatial dimensions) in order to exist. In other words, empty space is more fundamental than these strings. Without intervening space with extra dimensions, there can be no oscillating strings and hence no universe at all.
Now the question arises: Is empty space is true reality? Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity states that even empty space is not absolute and constant. With extremely high speed travels, the space in-between shrinks. This shows that even the most fundamental entity of the universe, space, changes with respect to circumstances.
If this is the condition of the space in which particles moves, why make an issue of electron? Things are not too simple out there. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle says - loosely - that you can't know with certainty both where an electron is and where it's going next. (What it actually says is that it is impossible to define with absolute precision, at the same time, both the position and the momentum of an electron.)
Hence let us forget about particles, and come back to the subject:
Atheism and Theism cannot motivate us to be responsible-mined about our actions, but a realizaion of principle of Cause and Effect can! (To convey this was my sole intention). Because
We have knowledge.
We have will-power.
We have ability to do good.
And above all, we have an ocean of experiences of other people to correct/fine-tune our future action!
What else do we need?
