lately i am being treated more and more as if i were disfellowshipped, which i am not.
do any of you know of anything, in writing, that is encouraging members to curtail any and all association with former members who are no longer active?.
The DC this summer laid it on heavy about bad associations. There was a lot of labelling, even shunning within the BOrg is subtly encouraged. WT seems to want to isolate JWs to a stronger degree in the last couple of years. Rely on Jehovah, blah blah blah.

I can't remember. But I would say many. The brothers and sisters were always nice. I don't have a problem with individual JWs, we often went back after visiting a KH, to say Hi again and maintain friendships.

I have trust issues, and my kids are suffering other after effects. Like trying to build a new circle of friends, and feeling sadness at the loss of conditional friends. I may change my mind.

i don't get why dawkins felt the need to teach me all about platoism, essentialism and rabbits.
snare, to be fair I was pulling Dawkins apart after I saw snippets of youtube videos. Yeah so I was a little bias.

cofty, linked me his book promotion video, which I really wasn't impressed with at all. But cofty promoted it very well. So snare, I may be bias, but I believe in evolution. I think it's more to do with biology. I am more interested in chemistry, inorganic and physical chem. Maybe that's why I am struggling to enjoy his book.

That's an interesting ID of yourself. I think a lot of people who call themselves atheists are deep thinkers and are well read especially in reading the Bible. Very interesting concept.

some people don't realise that attacking darwin's personal life over evolution is nonsensical as he was not the only scientist with the theory at the time.
many scientists were debating the idea including darwin's father and grandfather.
amongst the people throwing the theory around was a young poor welshman with a love for biology and questions, his name was alfred, yes everyone could calm down a welsh :) man called alfred wallace was also on the case...... many don't know that he contributed much to the theory too.

AAHHHHH!!! Thanks for that. That's what all the dog stuff was about. Your simple scentence just gave me a lightbulb moment. I am recalling all the details now. It makes more sence to me. It may have been clear for you. But Dawkins was far more convoluted than your simple clear phrase. I totally missed his point, which is a very good point and interesting too.
