Good point punky. I just think world leaders with that kind of power know things would end up frazzled. So they don't bother.

Why isn't the world a frazzle?
by punkofnice inwhen i was a jw i had a lot of silly ideas that seemingly explained things i wondered about.
arguments from ignorance or special pleading i suppose.
actually, my conclusions were daft.. one thing i have wondered about and i don't know if anyone else has, is why man hasn't either rendered the earth to a cinder or why there haven't been more nukes go off against nations.

The 2 witness rule
by tim hooper ini've just been informed by a jw apologist that regarding the 2 witness rule in cases of child abuse, the child himself counts as 1 of the witnesses.
he also stated that if 2 children complain about abuse seperately, the 2 children then count as 2 witnesses.. any thoughts please?.

Yes that is correct Tim. That is why so many paedophile JWs have been df'd and gone to prison across the globe. The victims have come forward.
The problem lies where an offender only takes one victim. One victim is good enough for a police conviction and prison sentence but the paedophile will not get df'd.

CAn some one help me find a WTBTS court case
by LennaB inhi hello, can anyone help me find a recording of the wtbts being on trial and admitting to their followers believing in a false prophecy.
they said the reason they had their followers believe this was "unity at all costs" i've heard the audio on a few videos online, but have not been able to find the actual source of the clip.
i've seen trnscripts as well (though not official).

Going on the OFFENSIVE
by Coded Logic inthe wtbts has an easy time painting x-witnesses as apostates because the direction of information is entirely one way.
and jws rarely get an opportunity to consider both sides of the equation for themselves.
i think that websites like this one are a great tool for those who are already questioning their beliefs or are already entirely out.

Many activists go to DCs and hold banners up. Cedars has some leaflets we can print off if we are feeling in an active mood.
Many find it cathartic to be activist's.
Some just settle into their new lives and help out newly awakened ones.
My story of my exit was stressful and to put it out there for the world to see helped me heal. I got a lot of support at the
time so it was good for me.

has been working with the fb [facebook] legal dept for about a year and also with youtube whoever they are, to enforce transparency.

Seriously though more JWs lurk and read before they learn TTATT. This kind of activity is not traceable. Hopefully some honesthearted elders will learn TTATT too. We have many elders on this site.
Trying to track down apostates that are still in seems futile. They are out mentally anyway but stuck in for family.....why even bother with them.

Chris, I see your point. I have read these excerpts of Scripture myself and wondered a similar thing when I believed the bible was from God.
I do think that Jewish converts have priority in the scriptures. But I also think that many scriptures point to non Jews being annoited too, like Cornelius for example.
Where I stand now. I think the bible is written by different men and gives different messages to different people. It's not a guide for my life anymore. I don't believe it's from God.

I am sooo screwed
by Yondaime inso last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.
she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.
what do i do?!!!!!.

Am I the youngest one on here?
by Capstone ini finally registered on here after reading on the forum for almost two years on and off (more often the last year).
to give you some background on who i am i can say that i'm a girl in my late teens and live in western europe.
my mom is a jw and my dad is not.

You are one of the youngest on the board. Teenagers tend to be irregular posters because they are so busy with school. Well done for learning your dad's language, and it's good to hear your boyfriend is supportive and understanding about your situation.
