  i had a conversation with my wife today about child abuse as it's in the news, and i managed to slip in the fact that wt (not an individual, but the .org itself) has just been ruled against in the states to the tune of 13 million or so.

  she knows i'm opposed to the procedures we have in place, and she can definitely see that it makes sense to go straight to the police, and said she would do immediately if it were our children.

  we had a fairly local case where the elders positively marched the offender to the station themselves, and good for them for doing so, but she most likely thinks everyone would do that out of common sense.

  It is official they're selling off Kingdom Halls in Britain

  i posted here a week ago some disturbing news for congregations being consolidated in britain.

  my goodness that was nothing !

  a letter was read today from bethel addressed to all congregations in britain that can only be described as the biggest news for years.the main points:.

  I'm sure a WT strategy must be to liquidate hard assets, convert them into cash, then move the cash offshore, thereby shielding it from potential lawsuits.-ADCMS

  That is a really good point. I just thoguht they would pay up when instructed. You're probably right, they may very well try to hide liquid funds. What a bunch of greedy so an so's. Kate xx

  but i know that many have had personal experiences.

  if you have had an experience, can you tell me what you think of this experiment as an explaination.

  So you're in the undecided camp for now. It's interesting that you found the experiment conclusions reasonable. I can't understand thaqt if a person who has seen ghosts, does the experiment and realises it's not a ghosts, why would they still think they had seen a ghost?

  I think the idea of 'ghost' suggests an afterlife.......I believethat when I'm dead that really is the final end.- punk

  Erm..... Remember that recent new USA wide request of a minimum monthly pledge from every member because of all the kingdom halls to be built.......and now, what two months later, the UK has an opposite request, selling them all off and squishing 4 congregations into one.-snare

  Exactly I was thinking the same thing, what a bunch of liars, but we knew this anyway. I suspected this consolidation was going on, in my area on KH has been sold and now the congs in that hall have been spread across the circuit. For some publishers it is a nightmare to attened their new hall. I am in a territory that is so far away from the congs KH, that the territory never gets worked. So much for reaching everyone worldwide, they aren't even reaching everyone in cities.

  Perhaps they are liquidating to generate funds for more lawsuits.

  JC's and recordings?

  i know there are recordings out there of jcs and more to come.

  i imagine the average drone wouldn't dream of recording a jc but those who are aware of the tatt might record jcs if they bother to attend.. i'm wondering (yes, another idle speculation post...sorreeeeeee), with the advent of more being recorded if the wbt$ will change their tack on how jcs are conducted?

  leave it the same?.

  I recored one of mine. I had so many JC meetings they just became complaicent. They thought the meeting would last five minutes, but it lasted 17 minutes and I took control of some of the topics we discussed. I was told in a few of my JCs that I couldn't record it, but I would have just lied and recroded it anyway if they had asked me not to.

  Many have benefitted from listening to it and I still get comments now on the youtube channel

  ok so i know its not really anything to do with jwness but we are struggling with baby names and really can't think of one we both like.

  its getting a bit desperate as i'm due in about 8 weeks .. i'm getting bored of looking at the same old names on the baby names websites so any suggestions would be much appreciated (girls please).. **cash prize for the one we choose!

  i have a question for any still going to meetings but no longer a believer.. is there any situation or announcement that would cause you to.

  draw your line in the sand and walk away?.

  if so, what would be your "last straw" moment?.

  I was full on in when I was in. Even though I was DF'd it still wasn't the push that made me leave, but when I got turned down for reinstatement five times and learned TTATT, then I left completely. Thankfully my grown up daughter left too.
