Man I hate this F'ing cult!

the nicest and kindest jw's seem to be the ones who are the least connected and active in the congregation.. i've been trying to fade and been missing quite a few meetings.. of course my wife still loyal as ever if not more so since i've awoken to ttatt.. every mid-week and sunday meeting i miss she gives me the silent treatment.. she's become more and more friendly with a regular pioneer younger than she is and wife of an elder, this to the letting go of regular contact with best friends in the 0rganization, whom she was closest to but were and aren't as active and regular at meetings and field service.. it's a crying shame, i'm closer and kinder to her old friends, keeping in touch through facebook posts now and then, encouraging them through the hardships, rejoicing with them during happy moments, graduations, welcoming a new child to the world, marriages, new jobs and what-not.. she has become a serious shunner, staying away from a lot of folks we were close to because they're not good association.. she's drunk the whole cup of kool-aid and anything i say that's remotely negative towards the 0rganization is met with stern retorts and accusations i'm apostate sounding.. and yet, she's still the kind hearted, loving person she used to be.

it's like she has a wt hat she dons and it changes her mind, her outlook, her behavior.

when dealing with neighbors, with people outside the kh, she's as nice as could be and i know this kind-heartedness is genuine--but it's been hi-jacked by this f'ing cult.

Sorry to hear this. It's really frustrating when we wake up if our loved ones get more attached to the cult.

They are constantly being bombarded with information about weak ones and having doubts.

The good news is that many genuinely good hearted JWs that have become more serious about WT tend to read all the literature and then develop doubts. They study and research more and more until boom the penny drops and the realise it's all a lie.

Keep being loving and spend lots of spare time doing fun stuff.

I feel frustrated

hello all, things for the most part have been somewhat better for me because my parents haven't talked about baptism or anything recently.

i got a scholarship to go to art camp for a few weeks which has been fun (since its free, my parents didn't refuse) but it has also been very nervewracking for me.

i haven't been around any non jws for more than a year and its like being in a different world, a world where people are actually real and genuine and not mindless drones.

Great news that you are at art camp. I understand it's hard to make friends when they have a different background.

But like another poster said. Live for the moment, enjoy the present with them. Worry about maintaining long term friendships at a later time.

Just found out their about to baptise my 14 year old boy.

there doing this right under my nose but i just found out.

not sure what to do but would like your help on getting me wt information on my headship role and how they shouldn't be doing this with out my permission.

also would like some help on showing my son the ramifications on what happens to someone when they get baptized and how they'll expect him to treat me.

Is shunning unscriptual?

international version 1 cor 5:11. but now i am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler.

do not even eat with such people.. if shunning is wrong.

.how does one explain this scripture?.

Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline

i was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.

until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.

but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

Good thread. I think the decline is due to multiple things, but certainly trolley preaching is a factor.

I haven't spoken to them in a while. But when I do they usually seem keen to converse and they haven't spoken to anyone else.

It's now okay to applaud when someone is reinstated?

anyone else notice that in the video where the sister was reinstated after many years of freedom, that the congregation applauded at the announcement of her reinstatement?

it been a few years since i was an elder, but when i was, we were instructed by the co that it was "not appropriate" to applaud when the announcement of a reinstatement is made from the platform.

his words, "because the one being reinstated is only doing what they should be doing!".

Feeling Sad After Uncovering TTATT

my initial pangs of unease and doubt led me to research some things.

well, a lot of things really.

i've never felt comfortable using the bible to try to calculate dates (1914).

I felt the same as I loved being a witness and part of a community. But I was already df'd when I woke up.

You are in a better position you can plan your exit and do things your way. You can be in control of your future.

You can plan days out with your wife and weekends away to do more exciting things than meetings.

Take it slow.....but show her love and fun.
