i started studying at 18 and have no jw realitives.

i'm returing because my life is heading in the wrong direction.

I have friends in the BOrg too. But I have made new friends on this forum. You have only posted a few times. We have Chemistry in common and I would have loved to have had some of your knowledge and contribution on certain threads.

If you go back just for friendship, you can't really be yourslef and honest with them. Especially if you marry a desperate pionsneer sister.

I want to be friends with you. Give us more of a chance Space Madness, you have only posted 13 times.

i've spent the last few years examining my core beliefs to test what still stands.

i've let go of an inviolate bible, demoted jesus to a failed prophet, and god as unable to act against injustice.

I am not an antheist as many know. But I have allowed you to get input from them for three pages. I know you are not looking for confirmation bias, but I want to confirm your bias and agree with you anyway.

Religion is a bad idea for the vulnerable. I have been out metally for a few months and still at meetings for the next few weeks I think. I am still vulnerable, so I am not going to join a church or religious website. I do read jwstruggle and Tammy's websites, but I am not an active participator.

If going to church makes individuals happy and content, and they know they are doing no harm to their family, then it's fine with me. It's the emotional, vulnerable, uneducated churchgoers (to use Dawkin's phrase) that concern me.

Matter, or Dark matter, or photons from sub-atomic paricle reactions, or even electron collisions could have coused matter to evolve.

How do you think evolution started WMF? What is your persoanl opinion?

Are some JWs justified in staying in the org?

most of us left the organisation because we could no longer stand one or other aspect of it, perhaps its very dictatorial administration, the disappointment due to the false promises and vain hopes raised by its leadership, disagreement with the blood ban or pedophile and shunning policies, the feel one gets that this is a business and not a religious organisation manipulating its members to its own profit etc etc.

these are of course valid reasons for rejecting this religion and refusing to identify with it but do the jws who stay in have a valid argument for rejecting leaving the org?

they will say: "ok our religion, our society has its flaws but what human society doesn't?

for instance what has the wt taught about evolution/science or mans existence that is wrong and could possibly change skmeones mind?

and the more important question, why is it a creator couldnt allow for species to evolve?

The stark contrasting points you and Tammy put across, are very appealing to intelligent JWs who are having doubts. I can understand that some days you get sick of going round in circles.

But to the new luker, it's the first time. You have both been instrumental in helping me move on. Cofty I have moved on, I am just messing with you most of the time.

It's evident that you are both here to help the damaged sheeple from the BOrg. You also comment on our personal threads. What we learn from you both is...(and SBF) that personal religious beliefs do not cause a barrier to friendships. And new friendships can be made over years on this forum. We are not just electronic entities that are virtual friends, we can actually make friends.

I am happy to call both you and Tammy my friends. I have even been to her website, and read Dwakins from your recommendation. I don't agree with everything you both say, but I call you both my friends.

I actually think God evolved gradually over billions of years before he was evolved enough to create the universe and everything in it. Kate xx

South of England Annual Xmas Meal 2013

in order to get a booking a little nearer to xmas (november wasn't quite pagan enough) we have booked the farmhouse burrfields road, portsmouth po3 5hh for 7th december @ 12 noon.

the restuarant wants a deposit of 5 per person payable in 2 weeks.

this booked up really quickly last year, so act promptly if you want to join in the merriment.

cuz they feel like they're banging their heads against a wall.. i don't really fall into the category of atheist or believer, but i'll go where the facts lead me.

that generally leads to atheism, and is why atheists end up getting mad and therefore rude at believers: they will lay out facts, raise questions, play devil's advocate, and reason in an evidence-based, structured way.

i've seen it many times before on this forum.

Keep going with him Julia. But don't let it make you ill. WMF, is so right about asking WHY?. The Neanderthal angle is great. They actually had language skills. Who did God create first, the Neanderthal or Adam and Eve? Were they Neanderthals?

I believe in God myself, so to answer these questions I personally conclude that the Bible is not from God and it's full of rubbish.

Stay patient, it's nice to see you are trying to help someone and he is still engaging. Well done
