I am up for meeting up snare, I don't mind coming to London to meet up, can you attend a meetup in the N/west of UK too? I was thinking in Feb weekend of 15/16th Feb or 22/23rd, we have a great museum here in Liverpool, with lots of evolution.
Can you come snare?

Boeing 747s and Other Misunderstandings about Evolution
by cofty inperhaps the most common misunderstanding that prevents people from grasping evolution is complexity.. we see it almost daily on the forum where people mention dna or the eye or any of a multititude of examples and ask how it could have arose "by blind chance"?.
whenever you see a reference to chance and complexity it is obvious the person hasn't yet grasped the basics of the theory.
chance is only one part of the process.

It would be nice if I was wrong.-Over%forme
I agree it would be, but I lived with false hopes for so long. I am not prepared to be mislead again. It hurts though, especially since I have lost many of my JW friends too.
Thanks for your post

Yeah I've had a lot to deal with lately. I also lost my Auntie this summer, and today was when all the will got finalised. It brought back my loss.
I wonder what the future hold's deep down I know she is gone. I lost my uncle (her husband) 10 years ago to Lukemia. I miss them, they were always kind, but showed a genuine interest.
I remember debating with my uncle about the ressurection, and Armaggedon, he kept telling me I was in a CULT, turns out he was right and I won't get to say to him or my auntie, "See I was right, you are in Paradise"
I don't think I will ever get to see them again, people matter, what good is money or posessions without people that are interested in you as an individual?
What has happend to our lost loved ones? Do you think we will be re-united with them?

I think most people seriously underestimate the power of cumulative selection.-cofty
I would agree with that. I did until I educated myself about the fox experiment in Ch3 of "The Gratest show on Earth". But only the humans conducting the experiment could direct where it went.
As far as natural selection goes, monkey's will never evovle to type Shakespere. Although the common ancestor could evolve a being far more advanced than we are today, we just cannot control or predict how we will evolve

Adam - please try to stay on topic. I realise you could write an essay on 1000 convoluted reasons why your knowledge of Iron Age Hebrew culture is in fact the topic, but please refrain.-cofty
Blame me, apologies. I just said it did not belong, then got caught up in his attacks. I am sorry.

your inability to do so also don't give you the right to tell others they're wrong, unless you can back that claim.-Adam
I don't have a google degree in ancient Hebrew Culture's. I have Jewish Schooling and Chader lessons, where we were taught amongst other things ancient Hebrew Cultures. I conclude you don't know what Chader means or how you pronounce it, see how google works for you there Adam???
I have backed up my claim I know more than you, I have the right to tell you so. Google is not a credible source of information
