  JW refuses to provide wedding stationery to Gay couple

  i was outraged at this and had to post it.. http://jehovahswitnessreport.com/blog/jw-refuses-to-provide-wedding-stationery-to-gay-couple.

  i think she is a hypocrite and i bet she sells her invites to fornicators, or does she ask them if they are having sex before marrige, before she takes their money?.

  i was never like this when i was a jw, it's even more disturbing that she is going to ask her elders what to do.

  Why phone the person in question up and then make plans to go to her shop? What business is it of yours?-fleaman

  It's public business becuase it's newsworthy. I am a passionate person and I believe in equal rights and I am against predjudice and racisim. I want to protest. It is my right to protest outside her shop, or ring her and protest about her hypocrisy. If she sells invites to fornicators but not gays, it is not a matter of conscience, JWs don't teach one is worse than the other. I want to protest this point with her. Also if she is going to the elders about it, it is not a matter of conscience either she is simply following orders and not thinking for herself.

  I have the right to protest if I wish. So I am.

  I like they way he brings out the definitions of the word "shortfall". The pledge arrangement is a financial contract. An everlasting one. I wonder if Jason ever reads our posts here on JWN.

  This is fabulous that the Australian government have a copy of this, and it is on their site for everyone to view. Do you know if any Austrailian victims have come forward? Is the government helping them sue WT for their policies?

  I am sure they must be helping some victims. Any news?

  Escaping Indoctrination - Faith Isn't a Virtue.

  the unknown writer of the gospel of john put the following words in jesus' mouth, "blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.".

  persuading countless generations that it is a virtue to believe incredible things on insufficient evidence, is one of religion's cleverest tricks.. the more incredible the claim; the more flimsy the evidence; the stronger the belief; the greater the virtue.. this is the exact opposite of how we operate in every other aspect of our lives.. rational people must demand objective evidence for everything they are asked to believe.

  "extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence".. leaving the dogmatic claims of the watchtower is only a first step.

  All it does is reinforce their former position, as contrary as that sounds. We end up with a little tribe of shrieking believers, waving their shiny swords and tiny threats, sounding ever more delusional by the second. So if clarity and sanity is the goal, why do you go for the jugular?- jgnat

  You make a good point, sometimes going for the jugular works. I was very vulnerable when I first posted over 3700 posts ago. Cofty and tammy had good exchanges that made me think clearer. Cofty really cares about JWs leaving WT and joining another harmful religious group because he feels he wasted 9 years doing just that and wants to protect others.

  I don't see bad in all religions and I still believe in God. So not all believers end up digging their heals in and spouting nonsense. There is a balance on the board and as long as that remains JWs when they leave will find their own path that suits them, most are pretty easy to deprogram to the point of being rational whether they believe in God or not IMO.

  Have you got any scientific stats for that to make you so confident?

  Why is it morally superior to be monogamous but not heterosexual?-Mrhhome

  Because being unfaithful to your spouse hurts them, and if you have kids hurts them too. Gay monogamous couples don't hurt anyone. It's about respecting and caring about others that is morally superior. A consenting adult who is promiscuous but has not partner is only hurting themselves, and showing a non-caring attitude to all their partners. Sex also then becomes mechanical and selfish, not a giving activity as it is in a loving relationship.

  So by your logic, it is wrong for me to sleep with another woman, but it is OK for me to sleep with another man.-Mrhhome

  If you're married it's morally wrong for you to be unfaithful to your wife with a man, woman, or even an animal. It is morally superior for you to stay faithful and care about her feelings.

  there was a thread that talked about the push to call on inactive ones.. thanks to the heads up here, i knew the motive for the call.. i don't think i even know that eld.

  It could go another way too. They may say she is not applying Matt 6.33. If she puts work as a lower priority, does more FS and donates more, more prayer, more study then Jehovah will provide. Some elders are really good with the "I need money" response. Then they may even say "we are so close to the end evryone needs money that's why we must stick to Jehovah's organisation now more than ever before"

  Just ignore them MissFit, I think it's your personality.

  LOL! Mums always know if they pay attention to their kids, yes love is unconditional. I wish the boy all the best for his future and I hope the church always support him no matter what his sexual orientation is in the future

  Sexual promiscuity has nothing to do with sexual orientation. If people are disposed to being promiscuious it is a choice and evidence of a lack of self control and morals. There is no promiscuity gene. There is a predisposition for some to have addictive personalities and some are addicted to sex and multiple partners, gay and straight. But most people see it morally superior to be monogamous and have self control. Hence the gay couple wanting to get married and be recognised as monogamous.

  I feel your comparrison isn't appropriate I am afraid.

  The CO also ranted and raved about abusive Eldubs and " God help them if they abuse the flock." So there is some serious sh** hitting a big ass fan somewhere.- DD

  Well DD, I see this from a slightly different perspective now that I am completely out. I have heard COs say this ever since I got unjustly taken off pioneering 5 yrs ago. I was asking too many questions and exposing wrongdoings of COBEs wife who was a pioneer.

  IMO I think they say this for the flocks sake and teach the elders in the flock book the complete opposite. The Flock book IMO is just a book to keep the r&f in line, in an abusive way. Not a book that teaches men to be caring and considerate of the sheep.

  That's my opinion DD, what do you think? Could I be right?

  I think elders are going to be more abusive and start calling disloyal ones apostates.
