I am still trying to process everything, all the lies, the disillusionment, the suffering, the wasted time and financial sacrifices I've made for this religion, the lost friendships and opportunities, just everything. It is a whirlwind of emotion, but I know I'll get to a peaceful place eventually. - Sevan
You have only left WT weeks ago. This is to be expected. But we are her to support you if you need. Your last post was 9 days ago, I hope you have been reading still, but you could be busy working too.
You're right sometime this place can be heated and hostile. I believe that evolution is a guided process, and I believe in a Creator, I am just as guilty of being aggressive and heated as atheists. As my recent thread shows. After a month of leaving I didn't know what to believe and I was still very fragile and vulnerable.
Sometimes just reading the threads can be better than discussing them. But also they might not be good to read just yet as you have just very recently woken up. They can be heated and some relevant points get lost.

k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.

K99 your link didn't work so I have posted it too I hope mine works.
I am nearly finished. But I am sure it will still be an anti climax for you. But lets see. I know it's taken 14 pages (on my device) But I have actually enjoyed doing all the chemistry. I am having fun. I am off today so it will about another hour or two, but I need a lunch break too, and the odd post on other threads lol.

Perry,
This is supposed to be a joke. I obviously posted it in the wrong subject, should have been social humour. I am not going to debate with you. One, because you ignore me when I do, and two I am not saying this picture is evidence that Noah did not build the ark.
I have no proof that Noah did not build the Ark. But I am sure cofty thinks he has, so search all his topics to see if he has provided this proof on the forum.

PE,
I think this is really good advice. In reality it's not as black and white as this because everyone's circumstances are different. For our family it was a combination of both, and in addition we had close family bonds with Jewish family that did not shun us just because we joined a cult.
Our story in brief, it's all over the internet anyway. Family of four. Domestic violence. Reported to elders. Elders told victims not to go to the police. Elder denied this two weeks later. Wife and children still exposing the DV to some trusted ones in the cong. Husband living outside family home. Only a few members of cong knew. Children did not want father back home. No options for scriptural divorce. Custody battle. Wife and children still exposing DV.
Wife df'd for exposing DV, son removed from being a publisher for exposing DV. Both accused of reviling or some such. Daughter baptised, ran away from city to Jewish family. Still attending meetings. Daughter confused because she is told she can't have contact with Df'd mum. Daughter fades. Wife and kids wake up.
My daughter still has contact with JWs. But she it totally awake now. She has a new circle of friends. she doesn't like lying to her JW friends about her disbelief. She isn't really interested in having close bonds with JWs, They have nothing in common. She was invited to a wedding after she left but the KH only. Only very few shun her, some of her friends have left and woken up too.
My son stopped all association with his friends, he was shunned a little for being removed, wasn't allowed to preach and stopped attending meetings when he woke up. He socialises with his school friends.
PE your advice is really good though. If I could go back I probably wouldn't have tried to expose the DV. I would have faked it for a while until I built a circle of friends, and then left WT. If I did it that way I probably wouldn't have lost custody of my son, or got Df'd.

Thanks Eden for explaining in detail why Perry's quotes are not credible. This is probably why my credulity was unbalanced yesterday, and I needed something very specific. People like Perry cause problems for people looking for credible information.
Can someone start a thread please. Perhaps you Eden if you are available. Discussing the best ways to check the credibility of we have read or heard. I would really like a thread like that.
Cofty, still working on the challenge nearly complete.

Perry,
Ok I couldn't resist, I took a peak. You have proved something on this thread though. Not all University researchers are credible. That's why they are peer reviewed. If you're going to post a quote with extreme views you need to provide the peer reviewed paper it came from. Like cofty did.
Plus Soai views are not extreme, he said he solved the puzzle not "The idea of creation rests on pure belief" No credible peer reviewed paper would say that in my opinion, but if anyone can find one great.

Sam......
Nature is a British interdisciplinary scientific journal, first published on 4 November 1869.[1] It was ranked the world's most cited scientific journal by the Science Edition of the 2010 Journal Citation Reports, is ascribed animpact factor of approximately 38.1, and is widely regarded as one of the few remaining academic journals that publishes original research across a wide range of scientific fields.[2]
Yes it's a credible source- cantleave
Angus,
Fair enough you said on the phone something to the effect of my credulity is unbalanced. The need for me to see a quote on the 1995 paper itself is also because I want to read the paper again. But obviously it's not available for free anymore and no one seem's to be able to get it without spending £40.
I do feel it's credible now, because you told me it is and I trust and respect you and I find you credible. I also checked the homepage of the journal this morning http://www.nature.com/nature/index.html. Which it didn't cross my mind to do yesterday, and I found some interesting credible looking articles and I even went to the job search. Sadly they don't advertise any type of analytical jobs or careers, mainly research related careers at universities. I don't have the experience or PhD qualifications to apply for any of them, they even have 2 posts at Liverpool university in the department I used to work in as a chemical analyst. It's quite annoying really because the researchers used to employ analysts to do their testing but with cutting costs they have to do the chemical analysis themselves now. http://www.nature.com/naturejobs/science/jobs?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=Chemistry+research&where=Liverpool&commit=Find+Jobs
So cofty I apologise for not checking the credibility thoroughly before righting it off as not credible.
Viv, yes you're right I have no formal organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry or industrial qualifications. I am lying well done for catching me out.
Outlaw cool. But evolution and belief in God are not mutually exclusive.
Perry, I have you on my ignore setting. I didn't read your post. Every time I have asked you a question or sent you a PM you have ignored me. So there is no conversation. If you want me to read your post send me a PM.
Cofty I am posting my response to your challenge, Soai saying he solved the puzzle is not relevant to the challenge you assigned me.

I also find is suspicious that this link doesn't work, but all my links referenced from this page work. I am not suggesting anything by it because I don't understand how links work or how Simon does stuff related to links. Simon, could you shed some light?
