here's a question for you all... why does the society insist that all concession stands be closed at their convention facilities?.
i can understand that back when they provided their own food service, they would not want the competition.
(and in all fairness, their service was undoubtedly cheaper for the friends, many of whom have limited funds.

last night we had a hell of a storm here.
there was thunder, lightning, pouring rain and wind.
personally i love stormy nights, cuddled up to hubby in a warm bed.
God I hated service. Dragging my poor children out there no matter what. I would be relieved if somebody was sick, even if it was me.
this is probaly one of my biggest problems i dealt with growing up in the jw crap.. it's no fun growing up alone.. i am sorry, but i hated my parents (probaly from the time i was 13), i know that is mean and a terrible thing to say, but that's how i felt.
i had no respect for them growing up in the borg.
they taught me nothing about ................. having a relationship/dating.
You got that right. My mom accepted "the truth-puke" when I was a baby. So I was raised in it. The problem is that my mother is and was the biggest hypocrite in the world, bar none. She never even pretended to live up to the standards that she expected of us. She did a fade while I was still one of the faithful, after I bailed she would give me the old "I know its the truth" routine. God I hate that phrase. I finally confronted her, asked her how she could say that when she NEVER lived up to it. She doesn't say that anymore, but she and my Dad REAM MY ASS because I don't believe in God. I told them the only god I ever learned about was the god of that religion.
Any old how-yes complete and utter loss of respect for dear old mom and dad. I am 47 and they are in their 70's and are as nasty as ever.
sigh, I wish I had a nice Mommy and Daddy like all the other kids.

I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear that I am not alone. I was feeling like an idiot for even posting my concerns. Ya know what? I am gonna do it. Anybody wanna do it with me? If you have your mind in the gutter get it out, I am talking about the apostafest, no, really I am.

last night some whacko beat me up while i was in bed.
nothing is broken, but i'll be seriously bruised for a while.
my left shoulder blade took the most of the beating when i had huddled face down, with legs tucked underneath and arms wrapped around my head and ribs for protection.
For cripes sake, sounds like the guy is a bonafide nut job. I hope you feel better soon. Finding a job is one of the hardest things, you get all dressed up and try to sell yourself. Hard to not take it personally, I am looking for a job too and it makes me feel sort of insecure, it makes me doubt myself and it spreads to other areas of my life. I am going through a nobody loves me phase because of it. I hate that. But keep on going, thats all we can do. I hope you find something soon. What kind of work are you interested in? Wouldn't it feel great to not only find a job, but find one that means something to you? Sometimes it helps to think of your dream job and try to get pumped up and enthusiastic. It helps to go in there feeling confident. Tell me what your strong points are, mine are working with people, especially young people they are so full of energy and life. I like history and research. I am good at setting people at ease and creating a positive atmosphere, even if I have to fake it. Which right now I do. Tell me what you are good at.
