  of course most of us who have done any sort of reasearch on the matter will know that 'christianity' is just a cover for the sun religion.

  not surprising therfore that the tetragramaton should be found in the sun on this pic.

  but why is it linked to the wts's media site?

  Anyone have evidence of the WT speaking at the UN?

  a couple of days ago i was surfing freeminds, and thought i came across something that alanf wrote regarding the wt appearing before the un economic and social council.

  now i can't find it!

  does anyone know anything about this - or any other instance of the wt appearing before the un - or where i might be able to find more info?

  2034's Coming! UN is banning Religion! Where is the urgency?

  it seems that jehovah's spirit disoriented organization has really made a mess with this one.

  people are speculating about 2034. throw the whole un thing about banning religion into the mix.

  jehovah's people are now saying that armageddon's right around the corner (but what else is new?)..

  And, as is also quite common for Witnesses, and much lamented on this site, they've taken the ball and really, really run far with it, without bothering to do any proper research.

  I think you are right! This is a big problem in the WT. I think they get scared when they see their numbers drop, so they pad them, then find something like the formulism stuff to work everyone into a frenzy. The WT wanted every member to think that religion was being banned so they would see that they could claim a prophesy coming true! However, I bet they didn't stop long enough to think about what would happen the next week - or the week after - when it didn't come to pass. I'd ask, "What were they thinking?" but I think I already know the answer to it. They weren't! (oooooooooooh! something new with the Society!)

  dustyb and mustang are also right on the mark. It would be completely counter-productive for the UN to ban religion. I think they know darn well that banning religion would only cause the Islamic terrorist wannabe's to come rushing out of the closet with every weapon of every kind and bring about it's own kind of Armageddon. So, no - right now, I don't think the world is ready to ban religion - at least - not now.

  Witnessing to Witnesses: Flawed Doctrine or WT Misdeeds?

  when we witness to witnesses, what is the most important thing we should talk to them about first - flawed doctrine, or watchtower misdeeds such as the un, child molestation, etc.?

  what's your game plan, or what worked on you?

  I am absolutely fascinated by the answers here. The four of us on this thread (so far) who were never baptised dubs all suggested something other than using doctrine. Everyone else (with the exception of Franklin) suggested using it. Interesting indeed.....!

  Because I was never a baptised dub, I can say that I certainly feel more comfortable using WT misdeeds - and for the exact same reason bebu mentions - because all the misdeeds are related to JW doctrine - and specifically, point to the evidence that the WT can not possibly be the F&DS. IMHO, everything crumbles from there. But I can also agree with Nathan that it can completely depend upon the person, the circumstances, etc. In fact, I thought of putting that into the original question on the thread, but I have a tendency to make things a bit more complicated than they need to be. So, this is definitely something I need to be aware of.

  At any rate, thanks for all the replies so far! I'm going to be using this feedback on my jw mom and step-dad who are coming to my home this weekend. They are coming out of hibernation - specifically to address the e-mail I sent them (link below) - so I guess the circumstances I will be finding myself under will be directly related to UN Issues. Man! I hope they don't throw any doctrine at me, 'cuz it gives me a headache when I try to unravel it!!!
