  Watchtower Change On Origins from 42,000 Years to the "Day Age" Theory

  does anyone know when and how the change took place?

  is the "day age" theory still the current position of watchtower?.

  I found a reference in the Reasoning (rs) book, page 88, dating back to 1989 that begins to open the door to a change in thought. Says in essence a creative day was at least thousands of years long. References a quote about some rock formations being billions of years old.

  I thought there was some reference to this in the book Aid to Bible Understanding, but didn't find it when thumbing through the spots where I expected to find something.

  I know I remember reading a secondary article maybe in Awake that peaked my interest in that change. I marveled even then that they were sneaking in a change of thought.

  when i was a kid in the late sixties the type of books we would study was very intense compared to the bull shit pablum that they put out today?

  i mean the finished mystery and others now its these stupid books that don't dive deep into the beliefs.

  Then of course we have the 700 and some page Babylon the Great Has Fallen... God's Kingdom Rules with accompanying question booklet. How many times did we study through it? AT 16 I was a "book study conductor" during one of those runs.

  made a big mistake of talking about being raised as a jehovah's witness to some old friends and family.

  people have told me that i am still a jws even though i've never been baptized.

  i'm in school for social services, dealing with student loan debt, and a lot of other debt.

  It is unfortunate that you're personal situation is causing you distress. Others here have given you some good counsel.

  As to the dubs, going back will simply add to your distress. They will make you jump through hoops to become an approved associate (or whatever they are calling it these days). There are no meetings for you to attend in person to be able to have the love bombs dropped on you for a while until they tire of that. You'll have to complete the study of a book or two. No one will likely visit you in person as they are discouraged from visiting private homes due to Covid. My 91 year old mother, a second generation lifelong dub, hasn't seen one dub in person in almost a year. She gets an obligatory phone call about every six weeks from one sister and that's it.

  Even if you decide to return you are probably going to need more effective assistance than can be found in a vacant Kingdom Hall.

  * first i would like to say.....i apologize to my son's everyday for getting them involved in this cult because i took so much from them as far as celebrating holidays go.

  they are now 22 and 17 great kids.

  they want nothing to do with the cult.

  All special full time servants are required to practice toilet paper conservation. Each special full time servant is allotted one (1) roll of special ground wood TP per week. We would expect that no more than 2 sheets will be used per each visit to the WC. In this way consideration is shown for dedicated funds and it will not be necessary to exceed the regular allotment . Any questions on this procedure should be directed to the TP-Allotment section of the Field Ministers Desk in the Service Department.

  I can't imagine prevailing in such a suit in the US. The courts are reluctant to enter "church" business. Did you willfully become a member, associate, publisher or whatever the name of the month is the dubs now use? Then I would expect the courts to tell you in so many words "too bad you did it to yourself".

  They are very sneaky about inserting things in a way that most dubs do not notice. The GB were making overtures about the GB being the "faithful and discreet slave" for a long time before they anointed themselves as such if you watched the statemnts in various special talk outlines at conventions and the such.

  What are they priming the pump for now, we need to be watchful in these last of the last last days.
