27 As the “new earth,” human society organized under the “new heavens” kingdom, gets under way, there will be need for overseers, superintendents, supervisors of communities and operations. Elders who survive the “great tribulation” and form part of the “new earth” will have gained much experience by their services rendered now in the congregations of Jehovah’s Christian witnesses. The “great tribulation” will not have discharged or dismissed them from the theocratic position of elders and overseers among the members of the congregations that survive with them into God’s righteous New Order. They can carry right on in this capacity, if the will of the heavenly King Jesus Christ is in favor of that.
28 At any rate, the experienced elders and overseers will be available for the Messianic King to appoint as “princes in all the earth,” from the very start of his thousand-year reign onward. What a privilege that will be for them to be the visible princely representatives on earth of the millennial Kingdom!

First Day of Returning to D2D Work

A husband and wife team called at the house this morning. They rang the bell but I was unable to respond via my Ring bell as I was driving. I have been prepared for their phony call to see my elderly mother (92) since they haven't bothered to pickup a phone to check on her in 2 years or so. She's been in an ALF for the past 6 months. I have a nice little note with quotes from the WT on knowing the appearance of the flock and love being an identifying mark. And then the big one..... RELIGION IS A SNARE AND A RACKET. Let's see their smug fat cheeks pucker on that.

Elders won't tell you who have falsely accused you

having been a victim of this practice twice, i thought i would see if others had the same experience.

on one occassion, i was before the elders being told i was drunk on a certain day at a certain time.

( this was only brought up because when i was pushing for a meeting because of elder mr x adultery , i was threatened somethings would be brought out about me if i persued the meeting.

Very rarely do dubs apply the principle of Matt. 18. Preferring instead to tattle and gossip. They have some explanation why this doesn't apply in certain cases. I couldn't find the reference in any of my eldub notes.

The money grab is getting tighter. They'll be able to see if they have more money locally now that they wont be able to have external bank accounts. I wonder if the federal banking rules should apply to the way they want to keep money? Aren't they functioning as a bank?

What a joke. Dub elders are some of the worst gossips I know. As soon as they get home from an elder's meeting they spill it to Sister Eldub who will sooner than later call Sister Knowitall Eldub and compare notes. Circuit overseers can even be worse, carrying tales all over the Circuit.

Experiment: Tell Brother Holierthanthou Eldub that you won a million dollars on a scratch off ticket. Tell no one else. See how fast it gets around. Later you can say you made a mistake, it wasn't a winner after all.

Were the bethelites disappointed when they moved out of Brooklyn?

anyone know of anyone who was serving at the time of the move?

i know a few former jw's who were at brooklyn who have told me that the actual bethel experience was kind of a drag but it was kinda cool to experience living in nyc for a couple of years.

i visited a relative who was serving, years ago and went into the apartment he shared.

At least in Crooklyn one could get public transportation to flee the House. Imagine being out in never never land with no wheels.

What have you forgotten you ever even knew?

at a certain point, as the years tick by, you start to realize that you have forgotten a lot of things.

typically, something you learned, some knowledge or skill you used to have, that you just haven't used for so long you no longer remember anything but that you once knew it.. i saw an article about electrical resistors the other day, and how the colored bands signify the rating.

now all i remember is that i used to know it, and that resistors do something with, erm, electricity ...

Simon I still remember the little ditty they taught us to remember the resistor color code and that was over 50 some years ago in high school electronics class. But it's not repeatable here. Teachers would get written up in the newspaper and probably fired for teaching it today.
