Just wait they'll start charging for tickets via this site. Oh sure they say disregard the fees, but I don't believe that will last forever once they figure out how to sell the idea. Maybe some drivel like "making best use of dedicated funds."

I used to love these take these guys who thought they were God's gift to the CO world down a peg or two. My favorite question for them after they got off the platform lambasting the congregation.... What gives you the right and authority to beat Jehovah's sheep? Most times they got all red in the face and kind of hemmed and hawed. I usually told them I was going to get on the phone and call so and so in Brooklyn at the service desk and ask them if they had authorized him to display such conduct. (These were always Bethell heavies I had known for a long time and had entertained whenever we/they were in town.)
Yep beat the sheep until morale improves, that's the answer.

Nicolas King: JW celebrity and example of hypocrisy
by neat blue dog innicolas king frequently sings with the watchtower chorus and had a supporting role in the dvd released at the 2014 convention.
(he's on the bottom row, second from the right.).
but he also is a jazz singer, traveling constantly performing at concerts, casinos, charity events, even a brief appearance on the tonight show.

He's wearing a necklace. According to the Beth-hell booklet I read once it says necklaces including ID type do not fit the Bethel standard. Something about homosexuals wear necklaces.

Hourly vs Salary which is better?
by hoser ini am hourly.
what are the pros and cons of hourly or salary?.
-
SadElder
Effective Dec 1 the rules change in the US for the "salaried" worker. There are tests that must be met in order to disqualify salaried workers from overtime. Many companies have not been following this and are going to be caught owing a lot of overtime to folks they are presently taking advantage of by paying a salary for more than 40 hour work.
I don't have the figures here a home but I believe a worker must make more than $900 a week and actually supervise more than one person. That's the best I can remember without looking at my notes at the office.
So to answer the question, Now (in the US) you may be better off being an hourly worker. At least until they change everything again.

They will spin the shrinking numbers as "the love love of the greater number is cooling off", simply another sign of the end times. Head to the bunkers you sluggards.

Can't say that it sounds any different than any of the other songs they produce now. No explanation is offered by David Splane as to the reason for the delay in its' release, though he does make a cameo in the video waving his arms wildly as the 'leader' of the group.
They seem to be on this kick now that they will soon be caught away to the heavens.

Anyone hit your panic button on your house alarm system by mistake.
by James Mixon ini feel like a idiot but what was the respond time?
within 5-7 minutes my street was blocked off, i received.
a call from the police dept.
-
SadElder
Florida law requires that the alarm company contact predesignated person(s) or key holder before police can be dispatched. False alarms cost $50 per occurrence in our area. Our alarm company calls within about a minute of an alarm.

JW Stand On Concealed Carry
by Cold Steel inif a jw wanted to get a concealed carry permit, would the society have any moral or ethical problems with it?
in other words, if one of your elders noticed you were carrying concealed, would they be apt to just ignore it or would they counsel you on it?
.
-
SadElder
You will of course earn their counsel about "not being prepared to fight", but the official stance is that you are not allowed "privileges" if you carry a weapon or have a job that requires same. Of course you may be happy that you cannot have any "privileges" such as cleaning the hall, mowing the lawn and so on. But I would then include in my "privileges" not paying any money into the contribution boxes.

Jehovah’s Witnesses and Disaster Relief
by mildren53 ini'm looking for this brochure mentioned in god's kingdom book.
i've heard it's only for gubernamental authorities.
otherwise someone would have it in pdf format?
-
SadElder
Does the brochure state anywhere that they ask those who they help to turn over any insurance money they may receive? Bet you it's silent on that.
They actually have people assigned to talk to the person(s) they help and "persuade" them to fork it over.

I've had enough..
by raven inso last night, after thinking "wow those pesky elders have finally left me alone, maybe since i skipped out on their jc invitation back on august 1st they've given up" wrong.. i go to check the mail and there's an envelope at my front door- lo and behold, another letter from from these elders.. why won't they leave me alone already?
i'll attach a picture of the letter.. again, same letter as the first one inviting me to a judicial committee on august 15th - and signed by all three elders.. should i just continue to ignore?
quite frankly i don't give a rats arse i've been enjoying life free from the mind control of the organization, and i just wish they would drop it and let me live life.. like i mentioned before, i am moving to a new home next week, the only reason these elders have my current address ( which happens to be over 100 miles away from the cong ) is because my mother gave it to them, after i gave it to her in confidence to forward me my mail.. so lets just say she won't be getting my new address... i don't have any contact with ones from this congregation (i'm an ex pioneer, so i'm sure if they've gotten word on what i'm doing, i must be satan himself!

I was an elder for many years and served in other "positions" before the elder arrangement.
I can't think of any occasion while an elder on a judicial committee that we resorted to letter writing. I tried to avoid being involved in judicial issues if at all possible. The only time I was on a committee that we disfellowshipped someone was a disassociation.
