A question for Athiests.

i am now an athiest myself, but i think being an athiest its a bit like having a faith.

some get very hooked on it and "preash" others (like me) simply get with with there lifes.

i am sure that some athiests like to have discussions about the non existence of " god" in a similar way that "thisists" do about the existence of god.

Like your thoughts ........ I've never believed in a G*d, so have always been an atheist. For me, part of that way of being, means I have an open mind.

Do we have a consciousness that will continue as energy? I dunno, but I'm open to the possibility. Or maybe not even a consciousness - maybe there ARE alternate universes, and we merely end life in *this* one, while we continue on in another.

That is the beauty of non-belief - the possibilities are limitless, and science has yet to explain a lot ........ so keep wondering, be open to the universe's potential, and most of all, I would say...........

BE your own self, enjoy life, and let others choose their OWN path. Who cares? If people need to believe in a G*d, let them ... maybe it is their 'coping mechanism' for life. *shrugs*

well, i just couldn't hold it in anymore.. today, i exploded, talking to my mother about the family inheritance and how i am being screwed.. i told her i had been so angry lately, and just had to tell her what i was thinking, because the anger was slipping out at times, and i was making snide anti-jw comments .... which is not my way.

i'm usually quite direct.. i told her that i couldn't take being treated like a piece of dog you-know-what on the bottom of someone's shoe any longer.. that in the past couple of years, i had learned so much filth about the jws that i was getting more and more disgusted day by day.. i started shouting ... there is nothing wrong with me!!!

why do i have to be shunned when they hide child molesters???.

Aunt Fancy, yes, it has been an ordeal. I really feel, though, that is was my body saying "ENOUGH" .......... I've been under incredible stress the past 5 years, and in a lot of pain. haha, i REFUSE to let ANYTHING 'break' me, and I think my body finally decided to tell my mind/psyche "okay, I am going to make you sick, so you HAVE to get help." or something like that ........... I'm much better now, and only get the weakness once in a while, so just know that it's my mental strength that will heal me!

On that note, thanks to you ALL!

VERY IMPORTANT: Please, anyone who reads this thread, and needs support - don't be afraid to ask! That's what it's all about.

i believe in god.

i don't believe he punishes or rewards people.

so by the same extention i don't believe any spirit beings can communicate with or influence humans.. many who do not believe in god though, have gone to fortune tellers.

Lois - sry to be so out of touch, but had pneumonia for a few months, and I've neglected my family. Will write soon! And, my mom is still around (as far as I know, I'm in touch with cousins, so would hear the news, if anything big).

Aunt Fancy - thank you, and yeah, it's hard. Life is not treating me better, but I'm dealing with it in a more positive way, and I guess ....... that's the minimum we can hope for? And, with that minumum, maybe we can build and make things better.

DOC - yup, that is that point. Nothing has changed. and that is the saddest thing. On the other hand..... thank YOU for support - THAT is what it's all about - helping each other heal. It's so important, and let's not lose point of that. We need to heal. When we are healed, we can start looking at making our abusers accountable. xo

yadda yadda - okay, that's wonderful! and is why we share. I'm sorry you had to feel that way, it just makes me feel tired thinking about it, the crap we go through, but sharing makes us stronger. Never forget! :))
