i think everyone here can agree that walking down the street, even in the middle of the street, is not cause for having a clip emptied in your ass......... i can understand how the black community would be outraged by the injustice of seeing another black man dead in the street at the hands of the police under mysterious circumstances....... i hope that i'm not succumbing to the attempts to assinate the already well impuned character of the dead man...... however.
i can't help but think that this could all have been avoided by exercising the proper discretion with fore-knowledge of the disadvantages people of color have when they are dealing with law enforcement in the united states.
it is not as if this disadvantage has only since recently came to light.
My expeirences have been more by knowing 2 police officers growing up, havng a friend who live with a cop for years and then married him, dating a guy whose son is now a cop, etc. etc. Also, as a pawnbroker for about a decade, I met some really nice cops, both in Major Crime (detectives) and beat cops. Having lived in the downtown core, and now in a more 'posh' neighbourhood, I can vouch for the difference in police response time and presence. I was physically assaulted, in broad daylight, in the 'hood' when walking to the food bank. The police wouldn't even come to the scene - too busy. As I said, having a friend who is a cop, too - she's a good one and they are a certain percentage. However, the position of police officer requires little education, and holds a lot of power - just like the priesthood attracts pedos ,,, law enforcement attracts bullies (imo).
LOL, also proof that law enforcement attracts bullies? My brother is now a Sheriff!

this was posted on a jw site and it would be nice if we could verify.. .. .. as of february 2015, the awake!
will come as a part of the watchtower public edition instead of as a separate magazine.
this is a huge change... with serious cost savings.
I remember that I used to think "yay, I get to read something not so boring as the Watchtower". It was kinda like the JW version of the Reader's Digest, without the "Humor In Uniform" and other jokes.
Hey, what happened to
Nevada!

DOC - To be a cop here, all you need is 2 years at the Community College that holds the course. Like American cops, we have the same thuggish mentality in a majority of cops. The 'Thin Blue Line' is too, a reality in Canada - cops protect their own. Cops here in my city, have been found guilty of killing a (known to the police) mentally ill man by throwing him head-first into the back of the paddy wagon, getting prostitutes to perform oral sex on them in their cars to avoid being arrested, and the usual racial profiling. In fact, I have a friend (who is now a sergeant) who is black, and sued the Department because of the racism displayed by her fellow officers! She is not one to 'play the race card' - and happy to say she won her case.
I agree with what you say - just think this is not a good example for the arseholes, specifically wet noodle Jesse Jackson and attention-whore Al Sharpton to be sitirring up violence over.
The rich are laughing all the way to the bank --- ahaha, we got the poor fighting over race again, so they won't feel it when we slip the knife in their backs once again. Why aren't Condy Rice and Colin Powell speaking up> Well, day-yum! They are part of the elitist power structure, can't you see that?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - divide and conquer - keep the poor and middle classes up-in-arms over race, terrorism, or whatever, while the good little wage-slaves keep on trusting the government and shelling out tax dollars. I think we are headed for a bloody revolution, and for about 40 years now, it has already begun in the inner cities of the West. Cops do not respond when you call from a 'downtown' location - but they sure as hell are there lightning-quick when you live in a rich negihbourhood! etc. etc... Same old BS, time after time, and NOTHING changes.

Well, that's one less malpracticing "doctor" - I guess his colleauges could no longer cover up his incompetence. Good riddance!
i just wondering how this vile term came to be used in constant referral to the org, i really, really hate it!
it's only since coming out that i have realised how much the jdubs use it.
everything is the truth this and the truth that.
JV2 - excellent, I couldn't remember the name of the book, but I can see the green w/ gold lettering .......... ha.

I believe it does come from that scripture they love to quote "You Shall Know the Truth, and the Truth Shall Set You Free" ...... There is also a book. I think it was called "The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life".
That's what I was taught, being a 3rd gen on one side, 4th on the other.
Okay, now I must go vomit. ;)

we talk here about the importance of being mentally and physically out to be really free.. what about being emotionally free?.
i realized for me, i had to be emotionally awake first.
i had been yo-young back and forth for years.
I was so young, and the Lie was all I knew. My family had kept me completely isolated from the outside world. When I saw the hypocrisy, it all happened at once. My natural logic kicked in and said "wait a minute - they are hypocrites and it is all a bunch of lies. There *is* no God." So I left the religion, and my family, in one fell swoop. One Thursday night I said "no KH", and 3 weeks later (thanks Mom, for kicking me out), I had my own apartment and a new job.
Emotional attachments to my 'family' - well, that took a long time, and has left a gap that, due to my social ineptitude, has never been filled. I've never missed "god", though. I am a happy heathen in that sense.

it seems that batman has been portrayed by more actors than any other superhero.. who do you think has played the best in the role of bruce wayne/batman?.
I saw one on Pawn Stars last year, it was too cool! :P
How about a Buick Roadmaster, such a cool 40s car. And yes, agreed - kinda like the original Star Trek. It may not have had the FX of modern movies, but the plotlines were great, the action was real, and the gadgets were futuristic realities (eg, communicator, replicator).
